I think the fault lies with your agent, they seem to be completely inept !. I had a 6 month old Dual 1.42 G4 die on me last year which I bought from Cancom. I rang Apple straight away and they had it collected the following day and brought to an Apple service center here in Ireland, installed a new motherboard and 2 new chips ( just in case they said ! ) and had it back to me inside 72 hours.
I would have expected nothing less so dont you settle for anything else either ! Bypass your agent, get on to Apple directly and give them hell !
