I have a demo copy I think for OSX so I can re-open the RAW files in C1 to see the differences, hopefully later this PM if I find the disc!
Dear Glyn
You can get a demo from the Phaseone website.
I could send you a RAW file if you wish to look? In fact you maybe able to tell me if C1 and CR give different results if I can't find my copy.
I'd prefer not to see a copy. I KNOW C1 is superior.
In my case, they are there before and after processing and of course any CR sharpening really makes it worse. It also definitely prints up on 10x15" SFA paper and looks just as red. Most of my subjects are seas and crashing waves so of course movement is unavoidable. This is why unless I can find a lens that doesn't cause a problem, then the 1DS is just not up to the job. I can't spend hours in PanoTools for every sparkly image. I'm wondering id users of the 1D Mk2 have noticed any such issues with the slightly smaller chip?
In C1 the sparkles are there before processing and not in the final TIFF file. Try turning off sharpening in CR and don't use in C1 either. There are better ways to sharpen afterwards. C1 allows a big range of outputs. I have combined two into one image later. A bit like dodging and burning with custom tone and contrast.
I am now convinced that movement plays a part but only very slightly.
