But that was not the question! You make a valid point, but consider that the original poster might not -need- the 1Ds for say, 3 months? At which point it becomes a very good reason for waiting. My own view is that any new version would not be easily obtainable for quite some time, so that 2-3 month wait would be a lot longer, but best to get the best lenses for the job, unless they were announcing a whole new range of lenses at the same time.
