I will try out further underexposure this weekend. Thanks for the suggestion.

Since I rarely use a tripod outdoors (heretic! burn him! :-) and there is
quite a bit of subject movement in mountain streams, I suspect these may not
be an issue :-)

Glad there are at least two of us heretics out here. I only use a tripod if I really need it, ie on exposures over 1 minute :-)
