Dear List,

Further to previous discussion on this issue is a major new discovery!! My colleague is a fastidious photographer and as been using two Canon 10Ds for about 6 months now. When he heard about this "blooming" issue with red spectral highlights he ran some test using his own 17-40L under the same sort of light conditions. He has just reported back to me that there are horrendous red issues using this lens with the 10D.

This now rules out this red issue being anything to do with a full frame chip as in the 1DS and is more likely to be a 17-40 lens issue. His test were both on RAW and jpeg, both with and without filters (I had proposed that maybe the grad ND filter could have contributed.

I suppose Canon UK now need to be contacted as I think I want a refund!

For what it's worth,

Glyn
