Try a Revision Control System, CS-RCS is free or VSS if you have a MS Devel
Product. It is very inefficient with the access files but it does provide
an annotated history of file changes.
Most importantly it doesn't overwrite old versions , hence it is harder for
libraries to be corrupted as in the autosave issue described by Frank.
Files can be checked out with read-only status & if write status is
required the person using the file is identified.
Given the impact of file corruption I would have thought that this issue
would have constituted a far more valuable use of developer time than a
server to find the cheapest & nastiest board manufacturer.
Cheers
Don
