Why does my possession of a lethal weapon equal killing? I assume you possess a knife. How does that possession equal killing? I am constantly amazed by the number of folk who simply equate possession of potential lethal force (for self and family protection) with killing. 'Peace through Strength' seems a viable and reasonable tenet to me... A gun, like a knife is simply a tool that MAY be used for a lethal purpose. (Of course it is designed to kill. But bringing home a rabbit or deer is simply using the tool as it was designed.)

I have a problem with the whole foundaion of this argument - that we somehow have a right to use lethal force.
I wonder how this equates to a new testament mindset.
I don't see Jesus condoning or using lethal force.
I see Jesus ordering me to love, to be as one and to turn the other cheek.

My position is that I would not ever use lethal force. Surely that's a saner position than saying "I will..."
But that position has not been tested. Who knows under what provication I might.

Show my how killing lines up with Jesus' teaching in the New Testament?

Victor.
