I think still, the golf shirt is at least as much or to be fair at least
2/3 rds of the price of the traditional uniform. Has anyone seen the price
of the new golf shirts in the GPH catalog? Don't get me wrong, they are nice
shirts and all and I would wear them for things like powwows but it still
believe that the uniform is important.
Let's face it, today's kids don't like the uniform and that's why they
won't wear it.
I had tried to even bribe them into wearing their uniform once, I said if
they don't have one I will buy it myself and put all the patches on it and
make it up to snuff if all they would do is just wear it. No Takers. I then
said I would up the ante and include $10.00 dollars on top of all of that,
still no takers. I made the last call and upped the ante to $20.00. So much
for that little idea that never worked.
My experience has been that because the kids don't like the uniforms, they
are going to come up with any excuse they can find not to wear it. I have a
hard time believing them if their folks are driving around in Mercedes or
Jaguars or BMW, that they wouldn't have the money to buy a $15.00 pair of
pants.
What I do now is raise the money and give it to the outpost and order it
through the outpost and have the outpost supply the pants. Even then, they
still don't wear it or loose stuff to it or the dog ate it or something. You
want to be frustrated about it, but you can't. Because if you are frustrated
over it the Devil has gained some ground and that's the last thing that we
want right now. Best thought is to remind the boys and their parents and to
pray for them. BE Patient and forgiving. talk to the kids

Blessings,

Iron Mike
