the wheel i designed myself and sent the drawing to a friend of mine who
has made masters for me for a long time now. he turned in out of a piece of
solid plastic. when at all possible, i send him parts that i plan to add to
it, so i sent him one of the bearings and O-ring, this way if anything
needs to be tweaked, he could do it right there rather than sending it back
and
forth in the mail (i don't like playing tag in the mail, specially with
masters as each time they get mailed, i feel it increases the chance of them
either getting lost or damaged).

once i got the master, i made a 2 part mold for it and cast about 32 of
them, but dummy me cast them in smooth-cast 321 rather than the same harder
resin (task-3) like the track links were and they also don't have the gray
tint either, so when paint starts to rub off, they will have an off-white
color to them (but that may work out anyway as i plan to paint this tiger in a
winter scheme - figure it'll keep it cooler inside on them hot summer days
when it finally makes it onto the field).
