Cuprisorb is a resin designed specifically for removing copper, sold by Seachem. (Do a 
search on the net and you'll find more info and someone who sells it - if your local 
lfs doesn't.) Polyfilters will also remove copper, but since that is probably the 
worst of the heavy metals that your heater explosion could contribute to your tank, 
using Cuprisorb in addition may be a good idea.
