I'm glad that I could help. Your other
questions are a bit more difficult to answer. I would definitely wait a
while longer before adding any fish just to be sure. Your ammonia level
should be zero before adding anything else. Once that happens, make sure
that your nitrite level does not go up. If it does, wait until it is at
zero as well. It sounds like your tank is cycling again, but I doubt that
it will be a very long one. You may want to do some more water
changes. Keep an eye on all of your organisms. Invertebrates are
usually much more sensitive than fish. It's kinda odd that the fish died
and not your inverts. Perhaps something in the heater was more toxic to
fish than inverts? Who knows. Keep using the poly filters until
they stop turning blue. Patience is the key. Good luck!
