Thanks Craig. That was exactly what I was looking for.I seen it in a magazine but couldn't find it at any of my lfs.My polyfilters did turn very blue so it was copper poisoning that caused most of the deaths I guess.I'm working on a letter and pictures to send Visa-therm.My copper levels are zero now.My phosphates are zero.Nitrite and nitrate are zero.My Ammonia is 1.0.I'm not sure what this did to my bacteria bed.I'm going to my lfs tomorrow and get a fresh batch of live sand to reactivate the sandbed. My calcium and alkalinity are good.My PH is 8.25.I still have a little smell from the tank like electrical burn. What could be in the water to smell like that yet???Could there be burned metal and whatever was inside the heater in the water yet?If so will the poly filter pull this stuff out and the carbon I'm using? How long should I wait to put a fish back in the tank????What kind of fish should I use that I would want to put in a reef tank?Should I add a shrimp first?Sorry for all the questions but I want to go about this in the right way.By the way my corals all came thru this great. They are all opened about 90 percent and better by the hour. The emerald crabs that I poked yesterday to see if they were alive and didn't move are moving around ok today.A couple snails and hermit crabs are cruising around again. My skimmer is still going nuts. The foam is a wet clear foam but stinks like that electrical burn smell though.I think I'll wait to put a fish in until I get rid of that smell. Thanks to everyone that helped me thru this.Any thoughts on what I should do next please reply. Thanks again. God Bless America!!!!!!!! Ken.

Sorry about your loss.  I know how horrible it can be.

What you need is this:

I hate glass thermometers!  You always have to worry about breaking them!  I have one of these titanium heaters in my 125 gallon tank in the sump.  There are several sizes from 50 to 350 watts.  It has a very nice temp controller, but I just set it to 80 max and use my Aquacontroller to actually turn it on and off.  It's doubtful that both my Aquacontroller and the heater's temp control would both fail at the same time.  This gives it some redundancy.  FWIW

Subject: Please Help!!!!!!!!

My Heater in my sump actually exploded and burned. It was a brand new one I just bought.I forget the name.I'm really bummed out.All my fish exept my watchman goby died and he isn't doing very well.I emptied the sump and cleaned all the broken glass out and changed the water in the sump.I put three layers of polyfilters in and activated carbon.I only had a 5 gallon bucket of fresh saltwater to do a water change on my 75 gallon reeftank.I'm mixing as much as I can as fast as my ro/di unit can kep up with. How long really do I have to wait before I can use the new mix.I know they say 24 hours but this is an emergency. The bag actually says emediately. Can I do this in this situation. My skimmer is on full tilk also.I have lots of corals and 150 pounds of live rock I need to save.Anyone with any suggestion's please help me.I don't know if I should get any other chemical filter like chemi-pure or not?Dumby me I didn't have a ground probe on the tank either. But I'm running out to get one now.I feel like I just let my tank down.I feel bad enough whats going on with what happened in new york and the pentegon. Now I feel down right deppressed. If anyone can help please respond asap. Thanks Ken.My email is [EMAIL PROTECTED]   if you need it.
