Hello all,
We have a script running each night which backs up all desktops (about 10
Macs and 1 PC) to a single backup set. Each machine is "shutdown" at day's
end, leaving it running the Retrospect client screensaver until its backup
is complete. There hadn't been any problems with this scenario - the
machine's owner comes in the next morning, powers-up the machine, and all is
well.
Unfortunately twice now - and this has only happened on new G4 desktops
under Mac OS 9.0.4 running dual-monitors - we've found that once the machine
is powered up after a successful backup, the screen resolution on the
'startup' screen has been changed to 640 x 480 (the resolution on the other
screen is unchanged). Even more puzzling is the fact that you cannot change
the resolution unless you shutdown the machine, unplug it from the wall, and
then plug it back in and restart.

I know, this sounds pretty weird. But it has happened on two different
desktops, each running version 4.3 of the client.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? Are there any known issues with
the screensaver component in the Retrospect client?

            Cheers,
                        Greg.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
