Progress.... Geez I hope this helps and makes sense to some one since it drove me nuts!
First off it would seem that a separate rip , extra step, from DVDAexplorer is definitely needed to WAV first as opposed to using the FLAC command line in DVDAexplorer as the FLAC frontend wants to try and add tags on its own by guessing. Using the FLAC frontend by itself afterward on the WAVs I needed to un-check "Add tags" and then get a cleaner file. Also it seems that when converting 24/96 WAVs to FLAC one needs to un-check the "Replaygain" or you get errors. OK...now...I've read countless pages trying to find answers about this and have found a bunch of info. Seems all players don't quite read things the same way as far as VorbisComment for FLAC, even though they should. Also, all tagging software is NOT created equal. So... onto tagging the clean converted WAV's: Tagging the clean FLAC files with MP3tag, using auto tag with either Amazon of Freedb, I am able to produce a readable and usable FLAC file for Slim Server and the SB3's. I can also embed the images. I used one of the few references that seems to mention the VorbisComment mapping for MP3tag. It is found here: http://forums.mp3tag.de/index.php?showtopic=9646&st=15 If any one knows of a chart or some such for VorbisComment mapping in MP3tag it might be of real help to any one in the future that stumbles onto this thread. Especially for those of us that aren't into hand coding. I could not find one. Also wish there was a how to for this some where, if there is I didn't find it. Guess there aren't that many of us trying to rip DVD-A in a dumbed down MP3 world. Too bad, it's an awesome format.
