>I'd say that in most cases when I navigate into a track artists I'm >going to want to find music by that artist and in most cases I >primarily want to find other normal albums by this artist (where the >artist is set to album artist). > >In my library, this is also how it currently seems to work, clicking on >a track artist in the web interface shows all albums by that artist, >both compilations and normal albums. I'm not sure if I've changed some >setting to make it work this way but it does behave like this. > I believe it is a known difference in 7.6. One that I am in support of - an artist is an artist, and should display everything relating to that artist, irrespective of contribution (type of artist you navigated from).
I have seen other users report that they don't like it in 7.6, eg. click a composer name, and it shows all albums by that composer, not just others that they have composed. >However, I would prefer them to be sorted by relevance, so the albums >where the artist were album artist comes first followed by the albums >where the artist only is featured on one or a few tracks. > This seems to be the favoured approach that people from both camps generally agree is okay. I think its the best way forward and logical. It's like searching google for something; the most likely results are at the top, with other possibilities further down the list. _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/ripping
