Andre and Co. ---

My comment about play values with respect to scale has to do with how do you
see it used. G is mostly run in circles, because to chase down a train and
"operate" it not only is tiring, but expensive (those turnouts ain't
cheap!). Z plays about the same way, but that's because it is too small to
uncouple by hand without causing all kinds of ancillary damage. HO amd S
lend themselves to "operation" because they are big enough to handle in such
a situation, but small enough to be allowed in the house (and see what you
are doing). You see all this in layout design --- circles for the small
and the big, few switches, and lots of sidings, industries, staging, etc.
for the middle size trains. O is a wild card, and it depends a LOT on your
space available and amount of equipment (read pocket book). Personally,
having given O a very brief try, I think it is just too big to have a
"railroad".

Obviously, everyone knows the choice I made: scale S. Although progress
has been slow, the new SLE&P / CCC is showing great promise.

Have fun!

Don't quite get that one, Bill. Mind elaborating just a bit?
