I remember a conversation in the 70's about the first NASG standards committee chairman who proposed the code 110 wheel for "S". I forget his wheel, but I was told that things go so heated up over the direction of standards that he quit S gauge. One reason for considering the code 110 is that HO wheel contour tools could be used to make S scale wheels. There was a real lack of wheelsets in the 60's and by using the HO tool, the cost for new wheels would be reduced as it would be easier to convince an HO mfg. to make S wheelsets using the same tools. At least that is what I was told. Don PS I think the chairman's last name was Peters.... [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
