That is news to me--I had always thought the Catskill Mountain Branch (ex-U&D) 
dieselized with road switchers, starting with RS-1's, moving to RS-3's, and
finishing with second-generation diesels.
Incidentally, for those who haven't checked, the NYC road number on the SHS 
2-8-0 is for a B&A class, and the E-27 is not too far off from the NYC 
prototypes.
