In that case I'd suggest forgetting about the minutia of F units and 
concentrating on your academics. Spend the time building your resume. Maybe 
join clubs or intern or get part time jobs related to the fields of your 
interest. A good paying future job is gonna be a lot more important to your 
future success as a model railroader than any thing you can model in the 
next two years.If you want to do a little modeling find someone nearby with 
a layout that could use your occasional help or join a local club (doesn't 
matter if it's HO or N for now as modeling is modeling)..
