My focus this week was re-trucking SHABBONA's streamlined AF conversions with
sprung AM trucks. How well they look is another testimony to the excellent
design and proportions of AF rolling stock in general.

I also re-mounted the trucks on the converted AF heavyweights, since I had used
a somewhat "scattergun" approach on them originally. Although I would like to
have mounted the trucks the proper 10 feet from the ends, I had to go with
10'-6" so the would clear the vestibule steps on curves. It doesn't really
show, though.

The heavyweights use the Karnes/Beveridge passenger trucks that were available
some years ago, and they are great performers. MagneTraction never hugged the
rails any tighter! The only car not so equipped is an AF-derivative
baggage-RPO, which uses SSL&S 6-wheel sprung trucks. While it runs well, I may
take the K/B trucks from the SHABBONA heavyweight private car and install them,
and put the 6-wheel trucks on the business car.

After all, a comfy ride in SHABBONA's business car should be worth at least as
much as a five-figure executive bonus, don't cha' think?
