Hi Ed --

I prefer the River Raisin method – quality high performance motors and
gearboxes where the start is imperceptible, even on pure DC. I get that same
performance from re-motored AM diesels. Those pesky brass diesels are the
problem...

While I like the LEDs available today, it is still darn hard to simulate that
"real" incandescent look, as LEDs tend to have a uniform brightness all across
their face.

A question for Rusty: How big are the Dallee regulators?

Have fun!

....These spikes budge the motor and break loose the friction (called
"sticktion" by some).
....Rusty Brassbasher has had some good experiences with the Dallee unit.
Personally, I think LEDs are the best solution to the entire matter.
Cheers....Ed L.
