instantly, and the earlier #11900 and friends are in, the better!

In any case, I was planning to postpone these tickets to sage-5.0 (which
is scheduled to come after sage-4.8). The sage-4.8 release is getting
close to being finished and I prefer not to merge the big tickets #9138
and #11900 at this point. They change a lot of core functionality of
Sage, so there could be some unexpected consequences.
