Using Duet with SC 7.0.1, SBC Firmware 7.0.1 r2448
The last couple of days the "Now Playing" display on the SBC
was wrong (pressing 2xHome)
e.g. Text: Beatles, 1, Love me do
Art work: ABBA More Gold
Song playing: Boney M, Gold, Daddy Cool
The Text, and Art Work of the "Now Play
Yes it is, and what you did looks right on the face of it. Did WMP
connect OK? You should initially just get a silent stream. Then you can
use the web interface to switch to the new player and start something
playing.

Looks OK for me. I don't usually use RSS but I just pulled it up in FF
and it looks fine. My guess is that you're seeing a side effect of

I finally found the preference file by doing a search for "softsqueeze."
So now I have another question: the file is an XML file that has the
line:
entry key="audio.mixer" value="SB[plugw:0,0]"
I understand that I need to change that to use the java mixer (which in
turn will feed Pulseaudio on Ubu
finally got the softsqueeze to work, but in any case, is it possible to
stream thru wmp11?

In fact, for example I've had a folder called The Beatles. I've ripped
one new album this week-end and after this folder has dissapearred from
Squeeze Center. When I Browse Music folder in SC : same thing. So I
rename the folder "The Beatles" in "The Beatles Old", I copy all the
albums from A to B
I would suggest:
(1) Call Logitech to rule out a defective SBC. It happens, and it
might just be the problem.
(2) Wireless signal of 70% should be plenty. If the SBC is not
defective, then I'm wondering if you're getting wireless interference.

I've tried the alternatives, and decided that a connection from SB (at
home) to a remote SS/SC (at work) is my preferred option.
Since a VPN connection (OpenVPN, or Ipsec) can easily overcome the
vagaries of dynamic ip addresses at both ends, it gives a good as
"permanent" connection from SB to SS

folders in Squeeze Center, I am obliged to create a new folder with

I took the plunge and bought some Homeplugs and a Netgear switch today,
mainly because along with the problems with the SB, the wireless
adaptor on my PC was pretty flaky too (for a different reason though -
it would randomly disconnect from the router and require a reboot to
reconnect it).

Just occasionally one of my SBs seems to 'loose' it's MAC address.
Look under the current settings and check that the player MAC address
is the same as the IP address show on the underside of your SB. If it
is different change it back to the specified address & try connecting
again to the netw

Duet needs SqueezeCenter 7.x.x
But the controller works perfectly with all players as it's realy
commanding the server (SqueezeCenter) which controls the players.
So slimp3 sb1,2,3 transporter softsqueeze no problem ?
I have an SB3 and a duet (SBC + SBR) this works perfectly.

I have been having similar problems since moving to SC7 with stuttering
on my wireless SB2 & SB3. Never a problem on the ethernet linked
device.
Someone suggested turning off the LastFM plugin which has helped a lot.

Your message prompted me to look in the Services in control panel. Yes,
squeezeCenter is there and I was able to re-start it from there. Sorry -
could have sworn there was an option to restart in the SqueezeCenter web
interface and spent ages looking for it.

On Windows Home Server. I just bought a new server and it had
SqueezeCenter ready installed. Previously, I had it installed on a Mac
which I was able to restart SqueezeCenter from the system Properties
dialog.

http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4266 ). If you were
running Linux then there was a code patch that worked in 6.x but you
cannot patch the code in Windows

That's a little weird. Typically the orange one is indicating link
status and should remain on all the time. The green one indicates data
flow
Does it come back if you pull the power and restart? I wasn't clear from
your post whether you'd done the factory reset (Hold Add, connect power,
release Add) or not. This should get you into setup mode, if not it
sounds like a hardware problem of some kind.

1. I played one of the files in WMP and checked its properties. The
audio codec field is blank.

It is a bit hit-and-miss at the moment. The replay-gain policy applied
to all capable players in a sync-group is that from the sync-group's
"master" player. It depends upon which player joins another player's
sync-group as to which is the master. Using the player-UI (the user

Its telling me i dont have lame installed (though alien bbc works fine)
so i downloaded the dll and put it in windows/system and restarted the
whole box but it still tells me i dont appear to have lame installed.

Under Setting/ Player /Audio you can set Bit rate Limiting which will
transcode everything into MP3 at the selected bit rate but you must
have Lame installed.
Edit:
Some internet streams will not be transcoded into MP3 - bit rate
limiting is really intended for file audio.

I am am a longtime SB+ user which is connected fairly directly to my
WHS via the router. Works perfectly streaming flacs or whatever. Now I
have acquired a second box (wired only SB3) which is connected to the
same network via a pair of 200mb Netgear homeplugs. This works fine for
radio usually
Do try the SB card upgrade, when i got my Controller it was on a very
old firmware, that didn't help things. now it is ok.
The gotcha is that because the old fw don't work you cant get your
upgrade, so SD card comes to rescue here.

I have tried the update, but it failedI have also tried the keypad
test, which confirms the full health of the keys (!).
I have not tried the update via SD, will have a look at that. Failing
that, I will return the product. Not very happy, I must confess.
