Hi Darren
For such operations we use FME (http://www.safe.com) and the built-in "Proximity
Factory" (Neighbour Finder). It can find the nearest objects to any others, including
distance calculation and work directly on MapInfo TAB files. However, FME is a
commercial product. You find an exampl

Lawrence,
Sorry, but after conducting a simple test, I too am experiencing the same

Anyway, I just compiled and ran a simple test program using both MI/MB v.

MI 3 ran the MB3-compiled version just as expected.

Hi -
Try using UNC pathnames (\\machinename\resource\folder\etc) rather than
mapped drive letters. To do this, go to the network neighborhood and browse
until you find the share name that is your machine. Navigate to the
resources you want to use and create your workspace. When you save your

Listers,
Has anyone run into the problem of sharing workspaces that were created on
one machine, across a W98 peer-to-peer network? The problem is that all the
file paths in the workspaces start with C:\, and of course that's not how
the other machines on the network see my hard drive.
I sure so
Stuart,
Roughly how far apart are the 2 calculations? It's been quite a while
since I used any Census/TIGER data, but as memory serves, the TIGER/Line
data was pretty rough - i.e. the lines were "trimmed" to minimize the
number of points, and as such, could make for some "rough" calculations
