Hi All,

Thanks very much for your encouragement. Let us continue to work together
and formulate a plan for the 20th September hearing. Will share a mail on
this over the weekend.

Pinkeshji, the CCPD office prints and scans documents. Am getting them to
change this practice. It will happen over time.

RE: [AI] Your guidance required for switching the profession

2022-09-07 Thread Ved
Hi Aziz,

Presently, most of the employees are not satisfied with the roles they have
been given by their employers. Those who have got talent, cannot work under the
present circumstances as they are not given the roles that they think should be
given. In fact, it is the prerogative of the employer. Hence, satisfaction
level of most of the employees is in a poor state.

Now, let us talk about the V I Community.

Do not take it in a bad taste but we have just discussed how the vi community
enter into banks etc through their scribes.

This has created a very poor reputation about the vi community irrespective of
their talent and capabilities in the minds of those who take decisions.

This problem is groing constantly and many V I persons like you, who can be
utilized in a better manner by their employers, are feeling frustrated and
exhausted like you.

However, leaving a job without a suitable alternative is no option. You may
contact IStem who require content writers for preparing resources for the V I,
relating to working with various software with speech synthesizers.

Re: [AI] Your guidance required for switching the profession

2022-09-07 Thread BHAWANI SHANKAR VERMA
aziz, If you are planning to switch to another nationalised bank, it is
not a good choice. It is my personal advice don't switch to another
nationalised bank. Working environment and identity crisis is almost
same in nationalised banks. Presently, in most of the banks, the
perception is, upto some extent blind employees are also responsible for
that. many of them still did not adopt the technology. many of them
still don't know the basic typing skills on desktop. in such situation,
there is no option for management to assign a calling work to them. now
this calling work assignment is being imposed to all slowly and steadily.

Hi there,

Actually I work as an officer in one of the public sector bank I would
not name due to regulation compulsion, but since almost here I have
been reduced as a telecaller which I feel stressful for my mental
health as well as my work life balance. The situation of constantly
being on call is affecting my mental health and reducing my efficiency
I feel. So in view of that I am thinking of switching the job where my
abilities duely recognised and I am having job satisfaction as well as
proper work life balance.

Let me give you bit of idea about me, I did my masters in English
literature from Gujarat University, and have been active in some or
the other mediums through civil society as well as other organisations
in Ahmedabad. One thing I am in mind is the work where I have to work
as a content creator and second is in field of digital accessibility.
902 as it was the need of that time due to financial constraints I was
facing and thankfully I could clear it without taking any help of a
scribe for my clearance as it is the norm these days. I am also
applying for net jrf but have been unable to clear the same. So in
view of that, I would highly appreciate if you can aprise me of the
scope in above mention fields of content creation as well as digital
accessibility and any other fields you may think off.

2022-09-07 Thread Kunal Mehta
Hi Aziz,

I know it can be hard to juggle but it might be helpful to push yourself to
do some freelance assignments within the content field.

Another option could be to work on building specific skill-set through
remote courses on platforms such as courcera. Once you are confident doing
something specific, you can take the next step of quitting your current job
if need be.

Thanks,
Kunal

Yesterday, a division bench of justices Inndira Banerjee and MM Sundresh
was hearing a petition filed by NPRD.

When justice Banerjee said, "Initially there would be a training for all
the officers, and secondly, posts are transferable so, it will be very
difficult for the physically disabled persons to manage".

To which justice MM Sundresh said, "Frustration will kick in if you are
only giving them a particular post all the time".

Drawing from his personal experience, he narrated an incident wherein a
disabled lady judicial officer was quite unhappy as she was given the same
post all the time.

 Dear Aziz,

I appreciate you for openly disclosing your difficulties to the group.

Aziz, I am Paul Muddha, currently working as a divisional manger in
 Canara Bank.

joined Canara Bank in 1991 as a telephone operator through the exam
 conducted by SSC.

I got promotion in 1998 to officer and then to manager and now as chief
manager in 2018. Few facts, I got Jaws software after fighting with the
management for 23 years and now all vi employees are getting jaws very
 easily.

Although I moved from different cadres right from telephone operator,
all my postings has involved talking over phone/ landline or mobile to
clients, branches and now I head the call centre and more talking over
 phone.

Many superiors have viewed visually challenged differently; some softly
and many more rudely sometimes insulting and disregarding the disability.

Don’t worry my friend, where ever we work the environment will be
against us and we need to be cool and contribute what ever possible from
 our end.

I think banks are better place to work for vi candidates rather than in
private / software which requires constant updation of knowledge and keep
 up with the challenges.

You get increments, higher wages in revisions, and high in Da unlike
 private sectors.

Please be in touch with Vibewa group for guidance.

2022-09-07 Thread BHAWANI SHANKAR VERMA

Dear aziz.

In most of the nationalized banks, it has developed into a perception
that a completely blind employee can only do passbook printing, form
distribution or calling work. You can’t get rid of it unless or
otherwise any of your higher officials would personally take interest in
it and nobody bother about your skills. Confrontation with higher
officials is not a solution of your problem; instead Confrontation would
lead you towards worse performance appraisal. Hence, it is my advice
don’t try to be a hard worker, instead try to be a smart worker.

Secondly, if you wish to leave your job, then proceed. Mental and job
satisfaction also matters in life. However, if you are finding job
satisfaction with your present assignments, you won’t get at all. But,
before quitting your job, first get a suitable job for you and don’t
forget to obtain a permission from your circle office to appear in exams
and interviews.

Let me give you bit of idea about me, I did my masters in English

Aziz, I am Paul Muddha, currently working as a divisional
manger in Canara Bank.

joined Canara Bank in 1991 as a telephone operator through the
exam conducted by SSC.

I got promotion in 1998 to officer and then to manager and now
as chief manager in 2018. Few facts, I got Jaws software after
fighting with the management for 23 years and now all vi
employees are getting jaws very easily.

Although I moved from different cadres right from telephone
operator, all my postings has involved talking over phone/
landline or mobile to clients, branches and now I head the
call centre and more talking over phone.

Many superiors have viewed visually challenged differently;
some softly and many more rudely sometimes insulting and
disregarding the disability.

Don’t worry my friend, where ever we work the environment will
be against us and we need to be cool and contribute what ever
possible from our end.

I think banks are better place to work for vi candidates
rather than in private / software which requires constant
updation of knowledge and keep up with the challenges.

You get increments, higher wages in revisions, and high in Da
unlike private sectors.

Please be in touch with Vibewa group for guidance.

2022-09-07 Thread Satguru Rathi
None of the emails on this thread has suggested him to take no action
and earn free salary. The essence was to be patient and mean while try
to work out areas in the bank itself where he can be  more productive.
No one told him to stop looking for other options; the fact that
government jobs are hard to come by, especially, after the Covid19, was
highlighted and therefore, was suggested to re-consider his decision to
quit before he finds another option with similar income.

Best,
Satguru.

Hi Aziz,

It might be somewhat a long mail so excuse me for the same.
First, it may be noted that I too, am a banker so sharing my
experience:
I've worked with different  organizations on various rolls in both
private and government. Currently, I work with RRB and unlike the
nationalized banks, RRBs do not provide Jaws easily. There may be
few fortunate ones, who somehow got the software but rest are at
the same level. Most of them do what you're doing and some do
nothing as no work has been allotted to them by their seniors.  I
don't think quitting the job would satisfy you. I myself have not
been issued the software and no ID has been created for me to use
for official work. Still, I found ways to deal with this
challenge: I carried my laptop in the office, surf the bank's
site, read various circulars, and learned all about various
offerings of the bank. Once I found myself capable enough to speak
about these things, I called up on my manager and told him that he
may try asking me anything about our bank's services and to my
grate astonishment, he reluctantly agreed to here and tried few
questions. Upon finding that I was able to provide the
satisfactory answers, he asked me what do I want and I, then asked
to be actively involved in customer dealing such as if someone
wants to know about a loan, he can come to me and I'd explain.
Further, I also do some calling but not for the entire day. And
those calls are not made to the public but to the other branches
of the region asking them to fulfill their commitments and meet
their targets.

First, accept this fact that it is not easy for a blind person to
get a government job these days and would become more and more
difficult in the coming future. Please note that I don't doubt
your abilities but this is a simple fact! Second, quitting is not
the solution! Try to be creative and find new ways to engage
yourself. I know it could be difficult at times, but time is the
only thing that keep changing! May be, you could wait for the
leadership to change and then once again try for some other type
of work that you could do in the bank. I sincerely hope you'd
consider these things and will not make a hasty choice. All the best.

Satguru.

2022-09-07 Thread Satguru Rathi

Hi Aziz,

It might be somewhat a long mail so excuse me for the same.
First, it may be noted that I too, am a banker so sharing my experience:
I've worked with different  organizations on various rolls in both
private and government. Currently, I work with RRB and unlike the
nationalized banks, RRBs do not provide Jaws easily. There may be few
fortunate ones, who somehow got the software but rest are at the same
level. Most of them do what you're doing and some do nothing as no work
has been allotted to them by their seniors.  I don't think quitting the
job would satisfy you. I myself have not been issued the software and no
ID has been created for me to use for official work. Still, I found ways
to deal with this challenge: I carried my laptop in the office, surf the
bank's site, read various circulars, and learned all about various
offerings of the bank. Once I found myself capable enough to speak about
these things, I called up on my manager and told him that he may try
asking me anything about our bank's services and to my grate
astonishment, he reluctantly agreed to here and tried few questions.
Upon finding that I was able to provide the satisfactory answers, he
asked me what do I want and I, then asked to be actively involved in
customer dealing such as if someone wants to know about a loan, he can
come to me and I'd explain. Further, I also do some calling but not for
the entire day. And those calls are not made to the public but to the
other branches of the region asking them to fulfill their commitments
and meet their targets.

First, accept this fact that it is not easy for a blind person to get a
government job these days and would become more and more difficult in
the coming future. Please note that I don't doubt your abilities but
this is a simple fact! Second, quitting is not the solution! Try to be
creative and find new ways to engage yourself. I know it could be
difficult at times, but time is the only thing that keep changing! May
be, you could wait for the leadership to change and then once again try
for some other type of work that you could do in the bank. I sincerely
hope you'd consider these things and will not make a hasty choice. All
the best.

Hi Aziz,
Working in any organisation be it private or public where non-disabled
workers are in majority is challenging. At the same time challenge is
there for them and other groups IE: SC, women, ST, OBCs and religious
minorities. Public sector employers are mandated by law to create
equal opportunity policy and facilitate equal level field. One can
negotiate and can earn due recognition and respect with the passage of
time. Have patience. After a prolonged struggle by women and Apex
Court's intervention, Indian Army took 75 years to establish permament
commission for women. Continue preparing for UGC NET/JRF and keep
working with the bank. I hope, Things will be alright. And don't even
think of giving up before the system. Life is very scary outside. post
Coronavirus Jobs are hard to come by. And even harder for blind
educated youths.
