wade machine handles all the syncing for you. You just load up the .mp3, and have the .srt in the same folder. the .srt has time codes that help control when the subtitles play, and wade machine reads those. Its like a subtitle thing on any other movie player, the only difference is that it pipes the subtitles through the screen reader instead of putting them on the screen. but its totally automatic. just start the movie and enjoy. I can upload a test movie with a set of accompanying subtitles if youd like.

Tried it, and here are a few bullet point thoughts.-- no bots or single player makes this game pointless withouut internet... which is a little sad, since sometimes I just want to play offline and blast things.- No concrete way of turning or aiming. the sounds dont even pan, so I dont know if Im moving westward or just side stepping.-- No good way of aiming... the combination of weapons information plus the weird movement system make it hard. But maybe I just havent tried long enough yet... but itd be really nice to have names and specs for the weapons at least as well as pick up items. Right now infinite ammo makes this a little dull.Other than that, its a great concept that can definitely become a great game with work.

Orin, what Kamlorn said above is all too true. I am a fairly experienced programmer, and cross-platform development is difficult for even an experienced coder. There are a number of languages like Java, Python, etc that claim to be cross-platform, but it only works assuming you do or dont use this or that API, library, etc. So since you are a new developer my suggestion is start with something that works on your operating system of choice first, and once you have more experience branch out to other platforms.Regarding documentation similar to BGT for Pure Basic isnt going to happen. Lets be realistic. Audio games arent exactly well known outside of the blind and low vision community, and Pure Basic isnt widely used by mainstream programmers. There is probably some documentation for general game development in Pure Basic, but youd have to go through and assess what was and was not important. Probably not something you want to do being a ne
 w programmer.To be honest documentation is one of the things I have against Pure Basic. It may be a easy enough language to learn, may work alright for developing games, but there isnt a great deal of documentation like there is for other languages. Add to that Pure Basic is not free, and you are going to end up paying out money for something when you could have tried something with more documentation and that is free to start with.All that said I think your best option at this point might be Python 2.7. Well I am a trifle late on this one. on the payment issue, to everyone who said there should be a demo I do not agree implicitly. Demos are a nice thing to have it is true, but they are not necessary. Not all games on Ios have demos, and many mainstream games do not. What there does need to be is adequate information to give the player the idea of what the game is like. If there is to be no demo there does need to be an audio trailer and ideally a very good description. Look at Ticon blu as a developer who has worked this out well. The intrinsic purpose of a demo is to give your players an idea of what the game is to be like, grab their interest and hopefully persuade them to fork out for the full version. If you dont have a demo you need to do that with your game description, your website, and your audio. This was not the case on the soundworx site. Therefore, while I dont disagree with charging for the game without a demo, I wo
 uld very much suggest better preparation before you do rather than just going hay here is my game it is an fps, go and buy it I would also suggest you think carefully about what exactly your offering your customers. Right now there is a single map and people can shoot each other with infinite amo. That is fine and a good start, but realistically when a person could spend the same 5 usd and buy papasangre, it really wont be enough, not when road to rage is free, so you might want to add more features and elements into the game before considdering accepting payment.This isnt to say dont charge for the game, however either A, considder carefully what you are giving people and then charge for a complete game, or B, if you need donations to complete the beta, ask for them streight off! I do not myself agree with the many people who stated that if it is a beta it must be free there are various commercial peaces of software whi
 ch are charged for which are still listed as Beta precisely for the same reason you gave, that while they had been tested on several machines there may still be bugs, heck even with complete games or other peaces of software there is usually a short bug fix release just after the full public release to fix some issues, however again you need to considder how much your giving people for their money.So, I do wish you good luck with the game and as Assault freak and jayde said, you likely have a good concept going, however it probably needs further development before turning into a full audio game, commercial or otherwise.

Hello,I know most people who play ultra power are still mad at me for what I said on the game the first day I tried it.To all of you, What I say now is, look around. Look at what Mason did. Theres a few ways to view his action. You can view it like I do, as the right thing to do after what the community has told him, you can view is as a cowardly act because everyone was yelling at him, you can view it as a stupid choice for not keeping his mind... It all depends on you. I will never know what Mason thinks. I got a ban warning and someone thanking mason for (quote) shutting me up (quote). Now you know why I decided to shut my mouth. it wasnt him, it was just that I realized the whole community would share my opinion in a few days. In this case, it was one day, and Im happy for that since not much people got the opportunity to buy the game. Like I said 5000 times already: Im not, saying the game is bad. Its getting better and better by 
 the minute. The server stability has improved a lot, the performance is a lot better than it was when I first tried it, its just a lot better than it was and the idea is awesome. Its just the design and the way to handle players that Mason has that screw it up. I myself am trying to hel pwith the stability as much as I can by telling him about what I can find, and right now I think I figured out how he could fix the multiple killing but hes sleeping. Do you all think I like coming on a game just to bitch at the bugs for no reason? NS and mason, do you really think I was being (quote) negative about the game (quote)? Two words: constructive criticism. Yes, I know ,that wasnt the best way to put it back then, I might have just sounded like a crybaby, but trying to get my point across to everyone in the game was not easy for one person.As for the person who was asking about the aiming. I have noticed that the guns apparently dont fire sideways, just 
 forwards. its a bit weird, I dont know if Masons planning on fixing that one but it would be extremely useful because trying to get behind a mad target who keeps jumping around like a squirrel isnt easy at all. One interesting point about the purge is actually after a few years whether it would be that violent at all, sinse odds are most people would have the same idea as regards steel reinforced bunkers etc, so likely itd devolve into a situation where anyone wanting to commit violence wandered around the streets and most people just sicured themselves at home. funnily enough I imagine the major problem after a while wouldnt be the killing and robbings and what not, so much as the people who used the opportunity to commit either smaller domestic type crime, or large scale embezlement or the like, sinse it would be a perfect time for say a company to fire all their disabled employees or commit similar discrimination without needing to work around the law and find an excuse. Of course, the purge is also predicated on the idea that the force which stops most people commiting crimes is actually the law, which doesnt seem to be the case for many people, , inde
 ed when my brother worked as a criminal soliciter he said that the majority of criminals he encountered were more guilty of stupidity than anything else.HeckIve engaged in several mildly illegal activities myself such as my brief experiences with canabis and occasional copying of things the fat cats wouldnt agree about.I therefore suspect the purge would only affect a certain percentage of the population, and likely the rest of the population would take measures to control that percentage , sinse after all where did laws come from in the first place? This is why I suspect the major problem wouldnt be the thugs wandering around the streets, so much as all those corporate and middle management morons who currently have to work around the law to enforce their petty little whims on others, and for many of whom the law is indeed the only restraint on their greed or prejudice, and often not much of that sinse there are ways around it anyway.

There are actually descriptions already, written for several things, for example I am currently watching the avatar the last air bender series and reading the scripts from http://www.avatarspiritmedia.net/index.php if you edited those you could create some pretty good descriptions, and there are film scripts around elsewhere online. There are however two problems I see with this. Firstly, when audio descriptions are written and narrated by people like ncls agency here in Britain, the descriptions are carefully timed to fit in between the dialogue. This however would be far more difficult with a synth sinse itd be very dependent upon what you had your screen readers speed set to. Remember, sub titles appear as people speak. Secondly, I personally dislike just! hearing the audio with description sinse Id always prefer to have the graphics and see what I can get from them
 . If I can get graphics plus description that is very awsome, so this probably wouldnt help me personally if you couldnt run it with a dvd or other video file. I actually wish that when people like blind corners produced those descriptions they could give you a little time at the start and then tell you when to start the dvd sinse itd be relatively easy to start the two together and then turn the dvd playback sound down so get the pictures and descriptions at the same time.

I dont think getting a refund is possible in this situation. Isnt this a *new* computer? If so, it may have been years since the actual purchase. Unfortunately, theres nothing that can be done in this case to resolve the situation, unless Liam gives you the key you requested.

I finished it! I finished it! I finished it!First let me say: I did not get the all treasures ending, nor did I collect all the galactic dusts. This will require another playthrough. I have a few questions, though. This post contains major end of game spoilers, so stop reading now if you havent finished the game!MajorSpoilersAheadI got the big long end scene, then the credits. Then, apparently, all the flaming bits and pieces of the Paladin decided to stop flaming, and put themselves back together in the right order. Also, Simons escape pod un-exploded. The reason I say all this is, I found myself back in my cabin. So, is there anything else to do, given that I didnt collect all treasures, nor all the dusts?And now, a suggestion or opinion. I think it would be nice if those of us with wins under our belts could have access to some so
 rt of cheat code or option, where we could skip dull, repetitive parts of the game. For example, while the second floor of the Tower of Fear was such an area, the rewards are well worth the trouble. However, I cannot personally say the same for the Infinite Matrix. I dont ever want to play that thing again! And yet, I know Ill have to if I want an alternate ending. This is my opinion.

@GhorthalonThere are a couple of problems I would have with that:If I wanted to get more server space, I would have to go through you to ensure the transition goes smoothly. Not that I would really mind, but it would be mildly inconvenient if, say you were on holiday.The most pressing problem however, is that free dot tk domains require 25 unique hits every 90 days otherwise they are taken down. With a small website as it will be, it most likely wont get the hits it needs. This is why I wondered if anyone else had a guide to setting up a free domain and hosting, with a service similar to dot tk that doesnt have the hit limit...@roroIve looked at your website, but did you put html files into that? there wasnt much formatting like headings and such which I would like to have on any site for ease of navigation...Thanks for the help thus far.

Yes, I had DirectX 8 or later versions, I think. I cant confirm though. I thought that since SL can run properly why not Judgement Day? Also, I downloaded Judgement Day from the link in the db, and after installing it it has a Reg.exe file which, according to the readme, should be run if I purchased the game from L-Works. So should I run reg.exe? I didnt purchase it, I just downloaded it from the audiogames website and the reg.exe file is already there.

Alright I try refraining from double posts, but this doesnt seem to work. I tried syncing this folder, but it keep saying 0 B in 0 files. Ive tried to sync this about 20 minutes ago but still. Also, whyd BT Sync keep notifying me of updates even though I unchecked the always notify me of updates to this version checkbox? What to answer? Yes or no? (I mean in the dialog box). Besides, what annoys me is after the update dialog closes, my NVDA doesnt seem to want to cooperate with BT Sync - I cant move anywhere in the BT sync program. Can anyone help?Just to double confirm. To preempt complaints about indentation accessibility: I only really started taking Python seriously this year. Indentation was not at all hard to get use to. I dont have NVDA read tabs all the time--that would just get annoying--but if I need to check, a simple use of the home and right arrow keys is sufficient (also, braille helps loads, but Ive made do without quite a bit). Its easy to spot when indentation is broken if the interpreter complains, and applying indentation to other languages that dont require it has cut down on my Unexpected end of File errors tremendously. (It makes me wonder if sighted programmers are even more powerful by virtue of being able to see all of that at a glance, considering that just indenting with only a screen reader feels like a power boost.).

Here is an answer to a few questions.2. There are a few speech synthesizers that CAN sing other than DECtalk and Loquendo. I was also told that if you have the Windows 2000 or Windows XP Pro CD, you could find the program there.6. No, you cannot use SAPI4 synthesizers on JAWS 13 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine, so youll have to get a 32-bit system to be able to use them.

Yeah it is. Good thing they put this mirror together to replace the website versions of the DECtalk archive. The skit with the Votrax and the DECtalk Express arguing actually came from YouTube. It is a parody of the Monty Python skit, called the argument skit. The Willow Pond TTS Speak Windows was actually the one I found on the web. The only thing I changed was writing the ReadMe file. Thats pretty much all Ive changed from it.

The point at which trigonometry becomes an issue isnt much to do with programming skill. Its more to do with what youre doing and how youre doing it. Ive seen topics on here where people have started posting 100-line if statements and Ive come in and replaced it with two via trig formulas. So I dont know exactly when it gets hit, but I do know that it has a lot to do with the type of game being coded.As for computer science in general, you can do a lot with arrays. But the day does come when theyre too slow, and you need to at least know what a tree and a hash table are. This can be avoided for awhile, at least until you need to pull a 100x speed increase out of your hat in order to finish the project. Many projects never hit this issue, but be aware that it exists. You do not need to know how to implement these things, just how to use them; most languages have them built-in these days,
  and its usually just some library calls. There is no need to go jump on the Comp. Sci. bandwagon at this precise moment.@CAE_Jones:I dont know if you really want to try to explain it. Thats harder than it sounds. You can post the formulas, but the understanding is hard. The understanding also saves hours and hours later. Ive personally never had luck explaining it without a diagram, but maybe thats just me.And Im glad to see we have another indentation convert. Telling NVDA to only turn it on in your text editor can be done via config profiles, or you can just memorize nvda+n, p, f, i, space, enter. I dont know about other screen readers, save that jaws always had bugs involving indentation announcement and the bottom line of the window. Since its only announced when indentation changes (unless its the aforementioned Jaws bug, in which case you will drown in
  the high-pitched 4 spaces), its kind of like left brace and right brace--at least in my opinion. Also, having indentation on does make it announce with read line, which is also super helpful-especially when reading code by the sighted. I find it interesting that you use the arrow keys: Ive never heard of someone doing that and still thinking its a good idea. My C++ is, indeed, always indented.

Hi,Id like to offer some constructive criticism of my own, and Im not being negative, just observational here:I find your reaction sort of interesting.While its true a few of the folks here wanted it for free, I do think payment could have worked, once some more features were added, or it was advertised slightly better.Take, for instance, the betas of rail racer. Che provided the community with some audio demonstrations of the game, along with a detailed description before directing users to the order page. This way, you knew what you were getting and could make an informed decision. Of course, there would be bugs, as its a beta, and even a full product contains those. But the information on the website persuaded people to buy it and the audio demos showed what the game sounded like for those who couldnt at that time.

Hi,Looks kind of interesting, although with a name like cards against humanity I was hoping for some sort of card battle game, not really collectable, but just a game that uses the idea of battling.Sorry to go off topic here, but to further explain: see for instance, a website called battle cards, which lets you use a standard deck of cards and explains what each card now means. For instance, an ace is a time travel commando, and the numbered cards represent ships and such.I dont know how easy or hard this would be to translate to an online system like rs games of the playroom, but it could be potentially interesting.

Pure basic isnt a bad language. Their is a reference manual in the help menu of pure basic that allows you to read the functions and their exampples. However, if your looking for a tutorial specificly designed to teach you how to program audio games, you are out of luck. As others have said, stick with your current system of choice before trying to go cross platform. Before you should even consider cross platform you should get at least 1 game developed so you know the skills for developing.

a question about a motion ride experience I found

Hi all,So I was on holiday last year, and I might be going to the same plae this year, so this is why the question is coming up.Ive found something which Im kind of interested in experiencing but also a little worried about safety.The only way I could really describe it is some sort of cube.However, in most simulators, you sit down on a chair and such.With this one, you have to stand inside, near a wall that is behind you. The material, luckily, is a bit like a bouncy castle so not too hard.There are handles behind that you can hold on to, but you have to reach backward, and sort of reach out. Whats more, there is nothing else in there, no seatbelt or strap of any kind.Im worried that if I try holding on, the thing might lurche forward or some such, and I might lose my grip. Im not entirely sure how much this thing moves, but from what my Dad saw of it, it moves more than a typical sit down motion simulator. I
 nterestingly, the floor actually acts as the screen.Im not really sure how to go about approaching this, but Ive got some crazy curiosity about it that Id just like to experience, but my parents and, in a way, me too, are worried about the lack of restraints in this system.My question is what to do about it, as if I encounter the thing again I may want to try it, going into completely the unknown and not entirely knowing if I can keep a grip on those handles. While I do have a fairly strong grip, if this thing makes an unexpected and sudden movement, and it cant be explained in time what could be happening, Im most likely gonna go flying across the cube and I I dont know how much of the thing is soft or hard.I dont know what sort of range it has, but we saw it calibrating and it sounded kind of fierce. Dad said instead of a simple tilt, it sort of jumped from its standing position, upward.I think its calle

please note, these games are sex games from fenoxo if anyone doesnt know them. hello, Im having ishews with those 2 games from fenoxo. in corruption of champiens, I just defeated zeddiz, and Im supposed to find lethis. however no matter how many times I explore the high mountain I cant find the dungeon. also, I want to make the faerie in zedizs dungeon normal again, but I dont know what I need to get her to stop being sex mad. also in trials of tainted space I am very confused. With Trials, is there a way to go south of that receptionist on the first planet? You can do things with her, but the content south of that doesnt seem to be accessible with a screen reader.Is this accessible with this Urban View for flash player, and where can I get this? ive never heard of it.As far as Champions, Ive really just messed around, Ive managed to find the dungeon but always get killed by the demon Sucubus in it and thus, get the bad ending. Needless to say youll find out how the place is ran, and its not good.

dam, wel you should be at least level 8 before even atempting that dungeon, and you also should have some nollage of some spells, the most usefull would be charge weapon. but really the suckobus is the easiest of the 3 enemies you wil face... well I never did things with the receptionist in trials, I just tryed to know what was going on and what I had to do.

Sadly this is what i wrote a lot of times. Thica can be one slightly longer game where most of the interesting puzzles / minigames are changed to the automatic. Now we must pay over 60 EUR for 3 separate games, short games. Totally bad idea concerned how to get more cash releasing one game splitted to 3. No thanks.

Hello peeps.Due to the fact that I have forgotten my registration infos for the rs games client, I wanted to create a new account.But for some strange reason, I dont get the temporary password which should arive in an e/mail.I tried the forgot my password link, and send the e/mail again, but there is no response from the developer.Do they experience server issues, or what is going on there?Greetings Moritz

I read somewhere that the sighted inquisitor games allow you to enter commands via a keyboard, such a feature implemented into the audiogame mode would be cool.When tabbing and shift tabbing, I notice that the shift key can activate divine help, even when you dont want it to. Maybe divine help could have another key, perhaps h or one of the number keys.It would be really cool when using an item, for the game not to read use with each time. Tabbing through the list and hearing use... with... door for example gets redundent. It would be extremely faster to just hear door.spoilersI have completed the game, these games are really short. One question I have regarding these games is how the puzzles are adapted for the audiogame mode. I notice that minnygames such as the forging of the jewel at the beginning of the game are omitted. Are there any others that are similarly removed?end spoilers

also, everything in the nicholas McColm folder is mine. Im pretty happy with what I did. my favorite is the there are 7 days wav with vocaloid singing it. that was the first thing I did with vocaloid.file,

Jaybird I think thats so you can collect any treasures and dusts you missed and access the alternate ending and postgame content. Im going to have to do that myself since theres one treasure and one dust that Im missing. But while I know right where the missing treasure is the dust is another matter.

Well then, I lost a lot of faith in the audiogames community on the first page.here. I not sure what test copies people have played, but the few test demos I played before going completely blind were all paid demo for $10. Normally after the testing period is over and the players receive a bunch of rewards for when the main game is greenlighted, and usually were either able to trade in the game for the full copy for free, or got a massive discount.  And again, you were all complaining for $5. I can understand on those who cannot pay ue to country restrictions/money conversion or ability to send money in but for many people, $5 is nothing. I spend $5 paying for food that I use up in about 5 minutes and can never use again. Here you were ntering a sort of test thing early and most likely would of had some recognition for being a early purchasers (first day DLc purchases come to mind). But all this backlash for someth
 ing who probably has $5 worth of material is utterly spoiled and completely out of touch with the mainstream testing system. If its good ihen play. if its not good, you joined the millions of others who were not hapy with thir purchase, but only spent $5 instead of $60. I wouldnt mind the game being paid copy at version 1.0 as people now have ample time to test the game and try it out and give reviews for other people to make a decision on.  I...shall download the game when Im able to after classes and will probably give a $5 donation to imitate the purchase. If its bad I just dont get a value meal from McDonalds if I was planning to go there. Its not like I spent money of greater quantity on less substance, like Altaraeon credits.
