I love this angle David. (and use the word for hat tipping virtue to Alex).
Alex, I am glad that you pointed out, ultimately, that anything that is
presented on coworking should unfold from the inside. If we are going to
speak and come together on coworking than that is the platform that we
should speak on in terms that we as coworking facilities FACILITATE the
process for those to accomplish their dreams with community minded
resonance.

Lastly, we are all affecting and effecting the shifting work environment as
well as the global community.I hope someone out there is in fact capturing
this from the inside out and not from an 'ant farm perspective' because that
is when we really are doing a disservice to the movement.

The form that Tara provides from Cindy is a survey where you can quickly

As I am sure that someone out there can submit a list of functionality to
Google... I would like to start off with asking for an easy translation

Personally, I'm not advocating changing from google to anything else.
But, Google is a big, smart company ... they ought to be able to add

Maybe it's a long shot, and maybe it would take a lot of other groups
asking for the same functionality, but is there a way that we can give
them feedback saying that we'd love it if they would consider adding
 forum options to their groups?

 I'd be happy with that.

need are more emails that I have to wade through. So I come to the
group site to check things out when I want to, but otherwise leave
   everything there.

That being said, this thread got 11 responses the same day it was
posted, and then 7 more the next day. That was Feb. 9 and Feb. 10.
Since then, there was only one more post on Feb. 16 until I (and you)
posted to it today. So, you have to admit, after two days of a lot of
interest, it appears now that this post is old news and I just wasn't
sure if the topic was now dead or not. For all I know, someone else
may have started a new thread that relates to the topic, but I
   wouldn't have seen that thread.

My experience with forums is that you don't lose these kinds of
conversations this way ... a new post puts the thread back at the top,
and there's an organized way to look through topics, which is a great
way to research. This seems particularly helpful to new people (like
myself) so we can get up to speed much quicker, and participate in a
more relevant way. If I can read up on beginner topics, then I
don't have to ask the same questions everyone before me asked. If I
want to spend more time researching anything more in depth, I can get
up to speed with everyone else so far on the topic within a day or two
(or maybe even just an hour or two).

Also, when I recently posted some questions, I only got one posted
response, and now my thread has been pushed down to irrelevancy ...
   very quickly, it seems.

I appreciate and respect that this discussion format through email
allows people more of an instant conversation with eachother on a
topic, but I just wish it were categorized and organized a little
better so each thread would remain relevant longer and I could more
easily find and read what I want to.

Again, I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds on the issue, as I am

Re: [Coworking] Pooling together to provide health care

2010-03-22 Thread WHERE MMM
Bryan,

Sorry I don't know, but which coworking site are you associated with?

I have been looking into providing this service here in CA since inception/
implementation of WHERE:MMM and found that it was extremely costly
(prohibitively so) to provide to my members or even across LA/ California
for independent contractors. I even used the same analogy as the Actor's and
Writer's Union's out here but no one would underwrite it without a large
chuck of change attached.

Even with a national reach.. to get the type of numbers that would provide
lower health care costs was even more tricky and no one would underwrite.

Perhaps you can share a bit more details to the group here on your idea; as,
I know that, it is the main reason that Freelancers Union hasn't done it
yet.

Do you have someone on hand now that is offering to underwrite it to the
group? And, if so what organizational structure would be needed from us
all??? or do you have an institution either non profit or for profit already
in place?

Would love to see this happen.. so necessary...

Thanks in advance for hitting us up with this!

Me thinks it has something to do with managing 9 events in three days,
but whatever the reason, I am sorry...just hoping we can find ways for
you all to participate in this conversation we are holding tomorrow.

We held a coworking meetup in San Francisco last month with several
leaders from around the Bay Area as well as the folks from Paris,
talking about how to help all coworking spaces become sustainable and
collaborate more for the betterment of the entire community. We
thought since many folks were coming to SxSW, we should try to get
everyone together and dig a little deeper into this topic.

We have set up an in-person meeting at the Social Media Clubhouse on
Monday (March 15) at 1pm to kick off this conversation. We are also
livestreaming it at http://bit.ly/smch3live for those who cannot
participate in person, but want to contribute or watch. The goal is
turn this into a monthly meeting (run by someone new each time) where
we can get as many people together on a call/video chat and explore
ways we can collaborate better together beyond the mailing list, to
discuss common needs, share alternative revenue ideas and perhaps
even, determine how we can support better curation/sharing of our
 local insights and lessons learned.

Again, I am beside myself I did not post this sooner. I am hoping some
of you can find an hour or two tomorrow to either join us personally
or at least tune into the livestream...then we reconvene and see about
setting up a call/chat for April to keep things moving.

if you can join us in person, please let us know by registering at
 http://smch3-coworking.eventbrite.com (password is working2gether). I
know it is cheesy. I am tired and not as creative as I can be. Right
now, we have Tara Hunt (SF), Chris Schultz (NOLA), Tony Bacigalupo
(New York) and several others who are coming. The Clubhouse is about
20 minutes from downtown and we have a free shuttle (thanks
Moonfruit!) to take you to/from, starting at 11:20am with another at
12:20pm. We expect to chat from 1pm-2:30pm and then can get everyone
back to the Convention Center to ensure you can make the 3:30pm
panels. We will also record the conversation and I am happy to post
the video link here once done if you guys want to reference it.

This email is way longer than I expected, but wanted to give you as
much info as possible. Hoping to have some of you either here in

 kick this off.

 Interested?

  sent out earlier this week.

The new coworking.com points to the google group, the wiki, and the
 blog. It
defines some explicit activities that people can do at each of those
 places
  to get involved.

  http://coworking.com

It does not attempt to define coworking any more than is already defined
 on
the landing page of the google group. It does not express any commercial
 or
even organizational intent. It just says we're here, and we're not going
anywhere. I think this stake in the ground is extremely representative
 and
lets us go ANY direction we want.

The design is the product of...well...an hour of my time put in to
copywriting and CSS. I'd be just as happy to throw it away if something
 else

I'd also be willing to take design/copy tips/tweaks to heart. You can't

There are still a number of other matters to sort out that have come up
since we started down this fun journey this week, and they can be dealt
 with
  one at a time.

I'll be following up with all of the contributors, as well as the list,
 to
discuss the next steps in managing the remaining funds.

*I'd really like the next discussion on this list* to help find a more
sustainable mechanism for allowing people to contribute to the website
 fund
without raising money that we simply don't need. Right now the fund raise
 is
spread out over ~20 people. That de-risked the initial purchase, and let
this happen at all. In the next phase, I think the objective should be to
spread the fund wider and, as Chris Messina said, put the focus on
individual supporters instead of business supporters, giving everyone
 more
equal access to the resources that come with having the domain.

  Let's brainstorm!

I also want to publicly thank Bernie and Gerrit for being so awesome
 during
the transaction. They asked me to share this retrospective they posted
 last

This is the core of the regional concept for me and also speaks to the new
thread that Alex is proposing in Next steps .. in association with
coworking.com

Perhaps there is an organic movement already under the surface here? In
coworking.com we first start with pages that point to regions .. as someone
mentioned with the google maps.. that there is just too much outdated info
on it
Moving to a regionally appointed 'point person' and or with a shared
respnsibility in each region could really help in managing the information

  Hi Everyone,

It's been far too long since I've checked in with the group, and
I'm glad to see the pace of discussion hasn't slowed down a bit. As
someone in, but not of, coworking, as I'm not a space owner (yet),
I've championed the concept of coworking to a number of audiences in
my neck of the woods (south Dallas County, Texas), and the first
speedbump I always hit with people is the definition of the movement
in terms they understand. Unlocking the value of coworking in the
minds of non-coworkers is a marketing issue, and marketing the
movement is driven by the largest elephant in the room.

It's my belief that the core issue at stake is this: control.
Every other issue dances around the question of control. For a while
last year, I was throwing the term federated coworking as something
between no walls coworking and evil empire Coworking USA
Incorporated. Every starfish needs a center, or else all you have is a
bunch of floating arms. For some, this group and the wiki is the only
core that we need; for myself, there is a perceived value in creating
something (brackets meaning I'm not going there on legal
formalities, etc.) beyond the group and wiki that can serve as a
center for spaces. I'm leaning toward the idea of a regional
something, since the economic and social climates differ between
Dallas, Seattle, Philadelphia, and New York, etc. The regional
somethings and individual spaces could people to an inter/national
  meetup something.

For the space owners, I have a question that may warrant its own
thread: what's your core? Whether internal or external, online or
offline, written down or in your mind alone, there is something that
drives your unique implementation of coworking, and I'm curious to see
  what it is.

  May the introspection begin :)

 ..

As he mentioned in the e-mail, he and his partner Bernie were recently
approached by a commercial entity with interest in buying coworking.comfrom
them. While the offer was one they could not refuse, they agreed to
 turn
to our community first and give us a chance to counter-offer.

I've been corresponding with Gerrit on the side and have had a very
 positive
dialogue. We've agreed to a counter offer (which they have accepted) of
 5000
  Euros, or ~$6800 USD.

I've never spent this kind of money on a domain before, so I've spoken
 with
a group of some of the longest-standing contributors to the coworking
community to see if I was off my rocker. We've agreed that this is a
 great
opportunity to put a stronger stake in the ground for the brand of
coworking, the core values that this list upholds, and a better
 technique of
communicating with people who are just finding our community.

What do I think should be done with the domain?

  *My plan is as follows:*

The wiki, blog, and google group will be aliased appropriately from
subdomains of the coworking.com domain. Coworking.com will contain a
 home
page explaining those properties and their contents, as well as some
 curated
press links that will be user submitted. Additional ideas are welcome,
 but
this is where I'd like to start!

In the last 24 hours, I've kicked off a pledge of $500 from my own
 pocket
(IndyHall still has some debt to pay back from our move last spring and
 we
consider that priority), and have been followed by the following
 pledges:

  $500 - Alex Hillman/IndyHall
  $500 - Tara Hunt/Citizen Space
  $250 - Felicity Chapman/Cubes Crayons
  $250 - Steven Heath/AltSpace
  $1000 - Susan Evans Jacob Sayles/Office Nomads
  $500 - Chris Messina
  $500 - Patrick Tanguay/Station C

That means we've been pledged $3500, just about halfway to the $7k mark
 we
need (including paypal fees and impending wire fees). That's enough for
 me
to transfer 50% of the asking price to the sellers to begin the transfer
 to
  us.

Now...what are these contributors getting for their hard earned money?
 I've
come up with a very simple structure to encourage consistent
 contribution
  amounts:

  • *Any contributor of $250* or more will have lifetime (of the domain)
access to a subdomain of their choice (http://yourchoice.coworking.com),
 so
long as the content of the subdomain falls within the values of the
  Coworking Community Manifesto:

  Community
  Collaboration
  Openness
  Diversity
  Sustainability
  see Citizen Space http://citizenspace.us/about/our-philosophy/ and
  Station-C http://station-c.com/en/community-manifesto for citation of
 what
   those values mean

  • *Any contributor of $500* or more will get a subdomain of their choice
 as
well, and additionally up to 5 email addresses hosted at a Google for
 your
Domain account set up for coworking.com

  • *Any contributor of $1000* will get a subdomain, 5 e-mail addresses,
 and a
sponsor link in the footer of the coworking.com home page linking to
 the
  coworking community/space website

lots of work to do in the next six weeks. The two biggest areas of

Members - we've got a handful of extremely eager coworkers ready to

Systems - We're exploring tools to use for managing our membership,
taking reservations, allowing online registration, etc. Obviously we
can build something sexy, but that's a ton of time (aka money) that I
don't know that we have right now. I've explored a few systems online

using to manage your membership and membership data? How do you manage
your assets (rooms / desks, etc.)? What do you use for online
registrations and reservations? Did you build your own? If so, do you
offer it as a web based solution to others?

Any input / support /recommendations would be hugely appreciated!

Re: [Coworking] Re: Coworking Article in WSJ

2010-01-05 Thread WHERE MMM
This is really encouraging and a happy day for me. I feel great when we all
support one another (yes a bit mushy perhaps but true).

This is the real heart of the coworking spirit.. All of us site owners need
to give each other a boost from time to time and when we tighten our efforts
and present more of a seamless, unified yet unique front to the 'face' of
coworking it only helps all of us serve our members and our community
better.

And, I do think this article is actually going to bring in a lot of calls/
visitors for us all. We have seen a significant rise since the posting as
well. And, we were not mentioned in the article so check your voice mails

I'm an MBA student and I need to choose a topic to write a
profitability/feasibility analysis on for a class, and am interested
in writing about this concept, but wondering about the profitability.

I've researched a lot, and it seems like people have different
answers... a lot say its not profitable since its the community aspect
that's appealing, while others say it can be profitable if you do it
right (what IS considered right is the question?).

I don't want to start a repetitive post, but I would love to hear from
those of you who have experience with running/owning a coworking spot.
Do you break even? If you go beyond break even, is it by much? Is
there anyone who is experiencing growth even with the recession? What
are your membership plans? Does being profitable have to do with
charging for extra services? Most of all, is this a business that one
should approach with a mind frame of making money or with one of
 community, or both?

Don't worry about answering EVERY question... I'm just trying to be as
through as I can be in my research! I would be happy to post my
findings once it's all done! :)

 Any help would be awesome!

 Thanks in advance!

 Cam :)

[Coworking] Re: advice on dealing with a loud co-worker

2009-09-10 Thread WHERE MMM
We at WHERE work lounge do the same as well. Basically the level of the
music serves as a guide for the volume of the environment; think restaurants
and bars vs lounge or spa.

Also, think about making a member policy that suggests taking long and or
loud phone calls outside if you don't have a separate room.

The best policy is really an up front one overall though and since we are
all working together there is a bit of flexibility on every one's part that
should be considered.

Frankly their are some days that I get to blast the music or have a group
watch a movie with me while we work while other days it is like a library /
or soothing spa... and then again that's what seems to be a good fit for my
member community.

The only other suggestion would really be a referral to a nearby work space.
We all hate to loos business but you must think about the bulk of your
members and sometimes we have to make cross referrals where there is a
better jive.

Hope that helps a bit more on some possible tactics.
I went ahead and emailed the group since this experience is probably a
benefit to us all.. but thanks for including your personal email for direct
contact in the body of your message.

Coming from a community building, non profit grass roots background I would
say that if you know you are committed to this than go for it because
getting your space up and running and building a community are challenging.
More than that it is time consuming. Best suggestion is to document and
observe and collect all your info.

Open the space if you feel you are ready though... don't delay... because it
does take time.

Your thesis won't really help you get things off the ground frankly
either... although it would be nice to have the info and (out of

[Coworking] Re: Questions about creating a Space with Childcare

This is really helpful and specific info that you have provided for on site

The one thing that I really want to point out for some who may read through
these postings quickly is that the requirements will vary from city, county

Iit would (continue to be) helpful for all of us (as we continue to grow
and chare memberships via the Coworking VISA program) on the differences so
that we can be better versed in explaining to members the background of
child care services.

Thanks again for your informative post!

additional project, a coworking space, which I’ve been calling the

Upon advice from the coworking wiki and this google group,
I’ve been actively building up a coworking community here in VT for

almost 80 people interested in coworking in the Burlington area:

We’re having our first informal coworking event, a jelly, next week
Friday at FoundLine, Inc. This event was so popular that all of the
spaces were filled within 12 hours of advertising it. I am so stoked.

I’ve started looking at real estate/office space in the Burlington
 area, specifically:

 Maltex Building
 Pine St.
 All over Burlington proper/Church St.
 Main St.

If there is anyone else out there in the btv, VT area looking to
cowork and wants to join me in this quest, please let me know.

Thanks for everyone's help and advice to date. As someone who reads
this group's updates daily, it's been an invaluable resource to use to
get VT's space started. And I know I will continue to use it, and
 hopefully contribute, in the future.

[Coworking] Re: Hi

Another great alternative is to collaborate with your local in-home day car
provider/ or network of providers.
While on site is great (speaking as a parent) it is difficult to really
focus at times when you have your mind on your kids... but the ability to
drop in, get updates and such provides peace of mind; much needed for the
freelancer parent that is on the go as it is. This way you reduce your
liability as well with trained day care providers as well as stimulating
your local neighborhood economy... try bartering too...host child care
trainings at your coworking site.

[Coworking] Re: Small Town Success

2009-07-20 Thread WHERE MMM
Scott,

This is quite inspiring and great for all of us; we are lucky (in deed) that
you do PR/ Communications for a living).

What I have specifically noticed in our group is that we all have an area of
expertise and that is what helps shape the individuality of each site along
with the community that is generated and supported. The flow and interaction
among each of our coworking sites/ communities is unique and special but
more importantly it is a social phenomenon that historically should be
documented on a larger scale.

In the spirit of some recent communications out there on our coworking
google group would you mind sharing some hints on how you created the buzz?

And, if anyone could perhaps add a link to our collective/ internal
coworking site here (because I am not IT either, community architect
myself) I think that would be super! I am thinking of how great it could
be to have a collective PR piece that anyone who sees an article and finds
us on Google Coworking could be linked into an archive/ index of articles
for any and all sites who are a part of this group.
Thanks for the Monday morning kick off

BEAHIVE opened not quite 3 months ago with an auspicious beginning in
Beacon, NY -- a small town shy of 15,000 an hour north of NYC on the Hudson

We've grown to 19 Founding Members with a few more starting soon. We're
making monthly expenses. We had 90 or so at our launch party, including the
 mayor and his wife.

And we've generated quite a bit of buzz in the media: 3 profiles of us
this week alone (all listed on our site at http://beahivebeacon.com). (It
helps that I do PR/communications for a living.)

Now, Beacon is not like most towns of its size. It's on the NYC commuter
train line and, perhaps most importantly, a major contemporary art museum
opened here 5 years ago (Dia:Beacon). Along with it has come many NYC and
other big city emigres. (Some folks jokingly call it NoBro: North Brooklyn.)

As many have said tirelessly, it all starts with building the community and
excitement first (another area my main profession comes in handy).

I'm happy to share any specifics offline.

[Coworking] Re: Starting up a coworking space

2009-06-25 Thread WHERE MMM
Lauren,

Definitely welcome to the group.

The only thing I would add is to plan to have a lot of patience and to be
flexible in your planning.

This is a community spirited business first and foremost; whatever business
model you choose.Luckily you have the existing community out here already
and sites that have been in operation. If you can, before you start, request
to go and visit some of these coworking locations. It is essential to see
the variation from not only the models but to the communities, services, and
overall approach to coworking in each new venue.

One last note that I have observed...coworking had a lot of variations in
the implementation and the development. One of your biggest (unexpected
hurdles/ it was mine let me say) is how much of a balance do we give to
the chosen business model, the community of coworking and even your members,
and your business.

In the trend of the moment of 'transparancy' is expected; as well as it
is a fantastic tool of marketing. That being said you as a new site owner
really must not forget leadership in the equation. I call this accessible
and approachable leadership. It is something that would drag on in this
forum to speak about but believe me after developing nearly 100 different
community based programs for non-profits/foundations and such, it is always
a clear path that is most embraced but also one that can find resistance
because of one simple thing: change!
So be clear in your desire of giving coworking to your community, be ready
to listen, and be ready to hold on for an amazing and fulfilling ride.

Welcome again,

Danielle Nicoli

2009-06-25 Thread WHERE MMM
All of these comments are very very true and good suggestions for you.

I have one thing though that may vary.. I AM A SPACE HOG myself. Now, In my
opinion I dont think I am cluttered or like Charlie Brown's Linus carrying
through with dust cloud but one very simple things that we have purchased
for our work lounge at WHERE is lockers!

Lockers are an easy way to approach the subject of someone's mess too but in
a way that you really don't have to walk that fine line off wondering if
they will feel attacked or have to get in a long winded discussion about
space and different membership access that may make someone feel outcast in
your environment/ community.

And the best thing is if you can really get your members to self regulate
the situation. Now that is much more of a discussion topic..but for another
day and place.

Best of luck for happy coworking.

We have been following the advices and roadmap provided by many friends
in this group and community to start our coworking space in Shanghai. I
would like to share with you our great news, our Coworking Space, XINDANWEI,
will be officially opened in three weeks time.

The space is around 280 square meters, located in IIInShanghai hub, a
creative park transformed from an abadoned plastic factory in downtown
Shanghai. More information about the space can be found at:
 http://xindanwei.com/p/us/

And we did realize how important it is to get the potential coworkers
involved in the building stage of the coworking space, both for the
establishment of office hardware and software, and to allow people to have a
piece of ownership of the space and the community. In the coming Saturday,
we will organize a visioning and brainstorming session for everyone who are
interested in Coworking. The event is held in our space which is still under
construction. We welcome everyone who happens to be in Shanghai to join this
event and brainstorm with all of us. The event information can be found at

[Coworking] Re: Coworking and College Students?

2009-05-18 Thread WHERE MMM
This is what we have found as well; remember most student simply dont have
the funds to afford membership and most are not disciplined enough to really
work and contribute to the coworking environment that members seek.

Having students or even returning students/ grad students to trade their
membership rates for study time works out to be the best.

I think, primarily because the student population has a unique need more
similar to a library than coworking that extends beyond the campus
facilities available, the established sense of community already formulated
and the numerous cafes.

Instead, think about how to incorporate these younger students into your
coworking scenes by way of networking events, mentoring, internships, etc.

I currently work with the vegan place next door to me and the coffee shop
that is two doors down. Additionally, there is a bakery next door to me that
does these amazing empanadas and grills during my Friday Night Networking
events.

It is fantastic that I don't have the food service issues and kitchen to
content with as running the space for coworking is enough of a challenge.

I have found that by working directly with the places next to me, especially
the coffee shop it encourages my members to feel like they are really
getting something special that we have created with the neighborhood and
allows them to feel more connected into the community when they are
automatically recognized as a WHERE member and show their coffee card for
example.

[Coworking] Re: Coworking Baby Born!

2009-05-06 Thread WHERE MMM
Hi Julie,

When creating 'WHERE' (work/ lounge) in Silverlake / LA, CA I came at the
coworking concept with a community building / non-profit background. As such
I look to support many organizations and sub-communities who all can
collaborate as a collective within the neighborhood.

One of the programs that I created a long time ago was for local moms to
become trained in daycare and was supported through foundation support. To
integrate the present coworking shift with your select SOWKS spaces try
working around the current low peak hours of your coworkers and host a
dedicated mom's morning. Or on the days/ hrs when you are normally closed.

Additionally consider the added benefits to stimulate the local
economy by partnering with established home day-care providers which can
expand your niche market; helping incubate/ accelerate and stimulate the
local economy. (And could further link back to finding support from your
city county programs and community foundations.)

Of course that is a very brief thumbnail response. Please feel free to

How difficult is that with umpteen different coworking facilities
which are all probably managed slightly differently and have their own
 rules, procedures, etc?

How difficult is it for a large company to make use of co-working
facilities as part of the plan and not just the occassional exception
 to the rule?

Might there exist a need for co-working agencies to broker space
anywhere/everywhere so that larger companies can easily arrange for
space in multiple facilities through a single contact, on a single
 invoice?

Maybe a few of you will take the co-working broker idea and run with it :)

2009-05-06 Thread WHERE MMM
Hi there Aviva!!

I am actually sitting down next to Adam Goyer from Jelly LA and we are
coworking right now (while watching 'The Spirit' so much fun)... anyway.. he
told me that you are coming to WHERE in Silverlake/ LA this Friday for all
Jelly LA'ers ( as it is a FREE work day here at WHERE). I think your idea is
a great one and look fwd to chatting more with you in person.

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Aviva (avivamo if

A bit about me + coworking: I'm pretty new to the formal world of
coworking (if you can call it that), but I've been doing it casually
in cafes, hotels and in a big house in SF for awhile now. Finding
better, more inspiring ways of working ranks high on my passion-meter,
and coworking is my biggest crush.

I'm not looking to develop a space - rather, I'd like to create a
resource for anyone interested in finding new places/people/ways of
working. I'm just starting to get a blog going
(workhabitats.wordpress.com), but am chipping away at other stuff that
I hope will be helpful. Call that to be continued...

To anyone in LA, SF or NY, hope to meet in-person sometime. And to
 all, have a great weekend!

 Cheers,
 Aviva

[Coworking] Re: Coworking Newbie

2009-05-06 Thread WHERE MMM
Hi Courtney,

I read your blog and found your comments to very interesting. I would like
to invite you to join WHERE on Facebook so that you can get more of a feel
for the coworking community than your observation :

I couldn’t help but notice, however, that much of the information I found on
coworking came from “wikis”, twitter, or some other Web 2.0 tool.
Furthermore, the actual offline executions of said movement were typically
made by quintessentially t-shirted and flip-flopped, young, white males. In
other words, *coworking as a movement seems to passively be dominated by
geek culture.*
When I created WHERE (Silverlake/ LA, CA USA) I came at coworking from a
hybrid standpoint. I am very much into building community as well as
providing a space for freelancers and incubator business to grow.

I really do like your use of Creatives.. it is a concept that I came across
about ten years ago out of Montery/ Big Sur. And, it is one that I emrace
here @ WHERE.

I'd love to learn more about your involvement/ thoughts in bringing
Creatives.together.

[Coworking] Re: how to set up coworking in puerto rico

2009-05-06 Thread WHERE MMM
I think the first thing you need to put out there is what type of coworking
space you would like to create...as there are several versions that way you
will obtain the best suited information for your venture.

Fantastic... yes.. I see a lot of us agree... see below for my original note

I would love to collaborate with Iddy and Gangplank to get this going..
guys..? thoughts ..immediate action plan for a weekend project...? Not to
put anyone on the spot but I would think it better to be a cooperative
effort.

  I completely agree!!!

I think it is a wonderful idea and would like to extend an invitation to
host a traveling group at a new coworking space in Los Angeles.

Our work / lounge is located in Silverlake and is ten minutes from
downtown. I would encourage us all to use Facebook as it is an easy way
to better inform each other about the locations and countries that we
may
