Re: [slim] Announcement Squeezecenter 7.2
I've been having SC 7.2 problems, too... I had 7.2 installed for a week or so. Something would happen quite frequently (not sure what) and the Squeezebox would go completely blank (I think it was a wireless network drop) and have difficulty coming back. Pushing a button on the remote brought up the Connecting to wireless network status message and it just stayed there for awhile. Back to 7.1 and everything is fine... I've been using 6.5, 7.0, 7.1 without problems like this. -- mbg mbg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3200 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51633 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Announcement Squeezecenter 7.2
I lost power the other night and when I rebooted it all I ended up getting the latest firmware on my SB3 and then needed to load SC 7.2 on my ReadyNAS. This sucks! It has trouble finding my music folder and is slow as can be. I was running firmware version 52 prior and a similar ancient SlimServer. I want to go back. This is not an improvement, it is JUNK. What's wrong with these people? My files are mostly WAV or Apple Lossless. The link to the old stuff doesn't go back far enough for me. Re: [slim] Announcement Squeezecenter 7.2
Hi All, After using 7.2 for some weeks, i noticed one annoying problem : -with browser selecting 'music collection' -selecting 'genres' to show all the genres in the DB -selecting a genre to show the albums belonging to this genre -select 'all albums' which should show the album-art/titles only from this genre. With 7.2 it shows all albums of all genres !!! As far as i remember this does not happen in 7.1.xxx an earlier. The URL as copied from the page, does seem to include a specifier for genre : http://192.168.1.1:9000/browsedb.html?hierarchy=genre,contributor,album,trackartwork=1level=2genre.id=10player=00%3A04%3A20%3A12%3A03%3A11 Am i missing something, or is the query broken ? I've recently upgraded to SC v7.2. The upgrade went fine and I re-scanned etc... without issues. But I have noticed an odd behaviour just recently. When using the web interface (with Fishbone skin), when playing tracks back from a playlist, the displayed Artist info is not always updated properly (it would still show as the previous artist) when moving to the next song and the Album info would be updated correctly but clicking on the link would actually take me to the previously played album listing. A reload of the web page sets everything properly. On top of all this, this behaviour seems to come and go - ie: not 100% repeatable. I'll have to see if does the same thing with the stock skin. I've cleared my cache etc... to see if that fixes it but it does not. Has anyone else observed this? Re: [slim] Announcement Squeezecenter 7.2
I was really just responding to your comment that said I would not recommend upgrading to SC 7.2. To me that sounded like a blanket indictment of the release, and I merely wanted to point out that it isn't broken for everyone. My library is primarily FLAC and MP3, with some WMA and M4A mixed in. With that library, under Ubuntu, with the SC 7.2 release, I have had no problems. I would never recommend an update prior to something like a party, though -- there's always a risk in updating, even though (in my experience) they're usually painless. Anyone else having problems with 7.2 and the Squeezebox 3 not displaying screensavers. I have adjusted the settings to display Now playing when it's playing and date and time when off or idle. these have always worked perfectly for the last 3 years since I've had my squeezebox and now they stop. It's frustrating to have to press now playing after you start an album. Re: [slim] Announcement Squeezecenter 7.2
I had been keeping my Squeezecenter at 7.01 and waiting for the official 7.2 to come out. I guess my usage model is not bleeding edge; my primary goal is listening to music so I prize stability and usability above bells and whistles. Nice to report that I installed 7.2 over a running 7.01 server and everything came up beautifully with no hassles. (Server is a headless XP SP3 box running Avast! virus protection.) It did kick off a rescan of the library which took about 20 minutes to fully complete, but other than holding down the brightness button on each of my two SB3 boxes, I had nothing else to do. What is nice is that the default web UI is now usable, whereas the slowness of that interface under 7.01 had caused me to resort to touch which is a good deal simpler and usually faster. I still like to use Moose 0.67a for a really slick library browser, though. This is good stuff: I hope that now the 7.x squeezecenter is in pretty good shape, we will only see small improvements in stability and performance and the odd bug fix; no more revolutions, please. -- dsdreamer -- Dreamer, easy in the chair that really fits you... dsdreamer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12588 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51633 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Announcement Squeezecenter 7.2
When I go to http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html and try to download the Linux RPM, it sends me here: http://downloads.slimdevices.com/SqueezeCenter_v7.2.0/squeezecenter-7.2.noarch.rpm which is a 404 Not Found Edit to point out that it can apparently be found here: http://downloads.slimdevices.com/SqueezeCenter_v7.2.0/squeezecenter-7.2-1.noarch.rpm -- jsharper jsharper's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9295 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51633 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Announcement Squeezecenter 7.2
Darn... Looks like the bug I reported still isn't fixed in 7.2 (iTunes Plus 48Khz files play back at wrong sample rate). Oh well, I'll take the Boom for now and cross my fingers for a 7.3 fix! ;-) Boom -- EnochLight EnochLight's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3392 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51633 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
