Rick Archer did not do you any favor and possibly a great deal of harm by
encouraging your delusions.
What is grandiosity?

Grandiosity occurs when a person has an inflated self-esteem, believe they have
special powers, spiritual connections, or religious relationships.38

Here's what bugged me, and I am sorry to bring it up again. Ravi discusses
his New Years Night at the Mist, where he describes having a 19 year old

harder and harder. Let me say, nothing in that story bothered me. I was
  rooting for the guy.

LOL..I was rooting for the guy, love it, but Steve not being a pervert
like Curtis who used his power in a cult to prey on innocent women it only
made root for my beloved more. I would only have with sex with her, a
goddess or just stay single. Anyway I don't know if I mentioned it or if
you are conveniently forgetting it. I didn't realize she was under 21 but
the bartender pointed it out and soon the security kicked her out. Anyway I
ended up ending drinking the shot of Tequila I bought and 2 more because I
now missed my beloved. This incident only confirmed my love for my beloved.

Anyway Curtis had posted the week prior that I couldn't humiliate him but
clearly he was crying, try to manipulate everyone by the end. Proved he is
a bitch of mine, I can tweak him anytime I want..LOL..

But Curtis with a sharper eye and higher morals raised a few flags, and
suddenly it's Curtis's who is being accused of debauchery, and becomes the
victim of out and out slander, the likes of which I don't think we've been
privy to here in some time.

You raised no objection. When asked by a member if you felt this was
appropiate behavior on Ravi's part, you refused to answer the question on
the grounds that the question was not phrased properly.

Maybe it's just me, but I felt you should have taken a stand, or at least
be willing to answer the question one of the first two times it was asked.
By the time you did answer it, it had lost any impact.

due to the rise of coherence in the collective consciousness of America, as
predicted in advance by the Global Country of World Peace

Rigorous statistical analysis shows that the upsurge of positive trends
publicly predicted in advance started when a group of 1200 experts in the
Transcendental Meditation program and its advanced techniques, including Yogic
Flying, assembled in Iowa from across the U.S. and around the world to create
coherent collective consciousness the basis of the national transformation.
(See www.invinciblity.org for preliminary research findings on the Invincible
America Assembly.)

We expected to hear good news coming from the Invincible Assembly and now we
are enjoying receiving it every day from the world press, Maharishi said.

Maharishi emphasized that this national transformation is just beginning. With
this group of Yogic Flyers permanently established in America, all good will
continue to come to the country a bright new sunshine is dawning right now for
America and the world.

Extensive Published Scientific Research Documents the Maharishi Effect
Dr. John Hagelin, a world-renowned quantum physicist and director of the
Invincible America Assembly, is leading a team of scientists and physicians who
are monitoring the effects of the group practice on national economic, social,
and even climatic trends. He said the positive developments created by the
Assembly are consistent with prior studies.

Extensive research published in leading, peer-reviewed scientific journals
documents reduced negative trends, including reduced crime and violence, and
improved economic and social trends when as few as the square root of one
percent of a population practice Yogic Flying together in a group, Dr. Hagelin
said.

Scientists named this phenomenon the Maharishi Effect after His Holiness
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the renowned Vedic scholar who founded the
Transcendental Meditation program, and who predicted the beneficial impact of
group meditation on social trends as early as 1975.

Group of 2000 Yogic Flyers Needed to Make the Nation Invincible
Dr. Hagelin said that the number of Yogic Flyers in the Assembly recently
increased from 1200 to 1500 further intensifying the positive effect for the
nation. And when the number of Yogic Flyers reaches the square root of one
percent of the U.S. population (about 2000), there will be an even more
dramatic improvement in national trends, and any lingering problems in the
country will be quickly resolved.

This is not wishful thinking, Dr. Hagelin said. This is hard science that has
been field tested for over 50 years and documented through more than 600
studies conducted at over 250 independent universities and research institutes
throughout the world.

Dr. Hagelin added that groups of Yogic Flyers are now being established in a
total of 40 countries to create a Ring of Invincibility around the globe and
quickly raise the whole world to a state of permanent peace.

The Invincible America Assembly is being funded by an annual $12 million grant
from the Howard and Alice Settle Foundation for an Invincible America.

  tajjayaat prajñaalokaH; (tat-jayaat prajñaalokaH).
Sucker Taimni translates it like this:
By mastering it (saMyama) the light of the higher consciousness.
Just for fun, let's study the compound word prajñaalokaH. How many
interpretationsare possible? Let's suppose, that the first part is
  either prajña or prajñaa.
Tasmin sati, we get the following possible combinations:
  prajña + alokaH
 prajña + aalokaH
 prajñaa + lokaH
 prajñaa + alokaH
 prajñaa + aalokaH.

Vyaasa's comment on that suutra (III 5) begins like this
 (transliterating from devanaagarii):

tasya saMyamasya jayaat samaadhi-prajñaayaa bhavatyaalokaH (bhavati+
 aalokaH)...

Judging by that, the correct components of 'prajnaalokaH' above
 seem to be

 prajñaa + aalokaH.

So, in that case sucker Taimni's translation for 'prajñaalokaH'
(the light of the higher consciousness) might be acceptable.

We seem to recall Maharishi once said something like:

The acid test of full enlightenment is the ability to perform

 Or something to that effect.

In YS III 5, Patañjali seems to corroborate that: from the
mastery of saMyama [follows] the light of consciousness; or stuff.

  Bill Goldstein,
Director of International Development at Maharishi University of
Management (MUM), felt inspired by his recent trip to the Kingdom
  of Bhutan.

Mr Goldstein serves as an ambassador to education ministries in
countries throughout the world, promoting joint programmes with
MUM, which is located in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.

After meetings in Bhutan, Mr Goldstein and other administrators at
the university decided to start a new project.

According to a university trustee who is involved in the project,
'One outcome of these meetings is the establishment, at MUM, of a
new centre for the study of Gross National Happiness.' This centre
operates under the Institute of Science, Technology and Public Policy.

The Royal Kingdom of Bhutan is unique in the world for upholding
the idea that the health of any society cannot be measured solely
or even principally by material and economic measures of growth,
such as Gross Domestic Product, or GDP.

Instead, the government recognizes that the fulfilment and
happiness of the people require balance in life, that inner life as
well as outer life be nourished. The government, therefore,
actively develops and uses more holistic measures, called Gross
National Happiness, to assess national well-being and progress and
to evaluate proposed plans for the country.

Maharishi University of Management, due to its use of the most
scientifically verified meditation technique in the world,
Transcendental Meditation, in its curriculum, has had extensive
experience assessing growth of happiness on an objective scale.

'The centre for study of Gross National Happiness at MUM will work
not only theoretically, developing and employing measures of Gross
National Happiness in an ideal society, but also practically to
promote programmes that enhance balanced and integrated national
life and development,' the trustee said.

'The centre aims to become a world-renowned institution, enjoying
dynamic relationships with global experts, and would be very
privileged to collaborate with the great pioneers in this field in
  the Kingdom of Bhutan.'

[FairfieldLife] The value of Celebration

2011-12-27 Thread shukra69
from Vaidya Ramakant Mishra's Adishakti LLC:

From the beginning of civilization, all over the world, people of every
culture and tradition have organized festivals to celebrate special occasions.
In India, many festivals are celebrated throughout the year and they're often
dedicated to the remembrance of a particular God or Goddess. In Sanskrit, the
word for any festival is utsava. Utsava means an occasion that uplifts and
enhances positivity (utsaha).
According to the shastras, utsaha is that which cleans the light of the soul
(sattwa). This is a state in which silence reverberates into dynamism. The
Uts-A represents the vibration of A, the seed of all creation, which emanates
from the source of the soul's light and illuminates the mind so that the mind
is empowered by the nurturing, all-knowing light of consciousness. The mind
that becomes connected to the soul's light in this way reaches a state of joy,
clarity, and purpose that reinforces the soul's embodied quality of bliss and
pleasure (sukha), and decreases grief (dukha) and aversion (dwesha).
The nature of festival celebrations allows for this dynamic to occur
automatically. Most festivals embody a common association with the universal
light of the soul through the lighting of candles or ghee lamps. The practical
purpose of using candles and ghee lamps to dispel outer darkness also plays a
role in deepening the connection between the mind and the soul.
When we pray or chant in candlelight, the sound vibration of prayer, coming
from the deep silence of the light within us, vibrates with candlelight and
becomes a part of it. Wherever the unified sound and candlelight travel, inside
and outside the body, they create waves of positivity that melt away karmic
shadows of deep grief, doubt, and aversion from the light of the soul. When
people gather in festivals and aversion is transformed into bliss, enemies
become friends and despair and fear turn into hope.
Carak Samhita offers more detail about spirituality-based psycho-therapy. For
almost all mental and emotional imbalances, Carak recommends a therapy called
Sattwaujaya. It means winning over the light, enriching the light, and cleaning
the light.
According to Carak, there are three kinds of soul light (sattwa):

1. clean light (pravar sattwa)
2. medium light (madhya sattwa)
3. low light (heen sattwa).

Pravar sattwa people remain always connected to their inner light whenever the
heart lotus is open. No matter what goes on around them, they stay upbeat,
kind, and ready to help. They lead dynamic lives but do not become attached to
any specific outcome. They remain blissful and free of aversion and when they
encounter mental, emotional, or physical trauma, which is a natural part of
life, they bounce back quickly without feeling bad or looking for someone to
blame. On the physiological level, Pravar Sattwa people are able to respond to
trauma without releasing cortisol because when the soul light is clean and the
heart lotus is open, any mental or emotional trauma can be met head-on without
any long-term effects.
Medium light or Madhya Sattwa people have either a half-open heart lotus or
carry the shadows of karma in their soul light. When Madhya Sattwa people
experience emotional or mental trauma, they tend to go back and forth between
positive and negative thought. They doubt. Often, they believe and don't
believe in God at the same time. This dynamic creates cortisol, which can
eventually lead to illness.
If the light of the soul (sattwa) carries any bad shadows of aversion and
misery, the light can be cleansed by raising the bar of bliss (sukha) and
determination (iccha) and by connecting the pure intellect (satya buddhi) to
the mental intellect (mano budhi).
The way we celebrate festivals, with candles, light, prayers, and gratitude,
raises the bar of bliss, which opens the heart lotus and allows the universal
vibration of A to cleanse the soul light. Then, Madhya Sattwa can become Pravar
Sattwa.
Carak recommends attending festivals as therapy for most any kind of emotional
and mental imbalance, and it is not rocket science to see why. We can all
testify that going to celebrations uplifts our mood, inspires us to recognize
the best in ourselves and others, and empowers us to pursue life-affirming
action.
The third kind of light, or Heen Sattwa, can be created by one of two
situations. Either the soul light carries a lot of darkness caused by karmic
misery, doubt, and aversion so that the darkness goes to mind and plunges the
mind into deep negativity. In another case, a person's soul light might be
clean and sharp, but the heart lotus has shut down due to emotional shock, so
the mind cannot receive the light of the soul. If the heart lotus is shut down
and the light is clean, attending festivals can open the heart lotus, and all
of sudden, that deep, dark negativity turns into a great vitality, enthusiasm,
and hope.

When one talks about a flash of light being able to color a piece of
linen in the same way as the shroud, discussion inevitably touches on
things such as miracles, said Professor Paolo Di Lazzaro, who led the
study. But as scientists, we were concerned only with verifiable
scientific processes. We hope our results can open up a philosophical
 and theological debate.

Ethnic Cleansing

Once King Jigme Singye Wangchuk and his families realised that the Bhutanese
living in the south were acively demanding genuine democracy he decided to send
his troops in to quell the movement. Well over 100,000 people were expelled,
others were threatened, tortured or murdered. This is the biggest forced
eviction by a country of its own citizens in modern history. The Bhutan regime
forcibly expelled one- sixth of its 600,000 population.
http://teknathrizal.com/node/5

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the country expelled or forced to leave
nearly one fifth of its population in the name of preserving its Tibetan
Mahayana Buddhist culture and identity.[32] Bhutanese of Nepali origin, mainly
Hìndu, fled their homeland. According to the UNHCR, more than 107,000 Bhutanese
refugees living in seven camps in eastern Nepal have been documented as of
2008.[33]

Most important thing for you is don't wear the gems for rahu and ketu,

you can wear all these gems and not remove them, assuming they are without any
visible flaws, including rose quartz, with benefit, the coral might decrease the
sexual activity of a marriage partner as it rules the 12th house in the

And the same 'Brahma' plays in different forms.

The same God is having and projecting several powers and abilities, and the

Hence without worshiping several Deities one could and should concentrate on

Garoi is appropriately termed as the second Shri-Khsetra as it is constructed
as a transit house of Lord Jagannâth. All the houses and debris have got a
limited life, The Jagannâth temple's (the temple at the first or primary
Shri-Khsetra) life will be exhausted, and again after limited time will be
re-constructed. Garoi will serve as the transit-house in this period of
transition. The transition also includes transition of Kali Yuga to Satya Yuga.
The temple has been built for the Satya Yuga. Satya, which is stepping in
slowly, will have its foot established with full-might on about 22nd June 2017
. There is no overnight change anticipated in this extremely difficult Yuga
Karma (duty and work of the era). Mahapurusha Shri Shri Achyutananda Goswami
has hinted in his Bhabisya Malikâ (an oracle about the events of the future),
that this Yuga Karma game will be played in secrecy (Shunya Khela or The Game
of Shunya) with a Sandhi Kâla (i.e. with a transition period) of about 12
years. Many will remain ignorant of the game, some will have some hints but
cannot dig and understand further, some devotees will be able to witness the
happenings with a conscious, and will secretly wait for the re-establishment of
the truth. [Off note: the Yugakarma is not about destroying the civilization or
mankind, as some prophecies imply; rather, its about establishing the truth,
peace, compassion, forgiveness (satya, shanti, daya, khsma) firmly; its about
partial cleaning with the force of the nature and divine, not about wiping off
our lovely human race with a wrath, no there is no end to our race in 2012 or
any other year as some prohecies were wrongly interpreted, projecting a sense
of fear. Those prophecies do serve as a warning. There is no one Doom's day,
its a slow process only to make things better at the end. What is to happen is
a shift in the global conscious a paradigm shift- the time will change, the
thinking will change, the perception will change. A little force is always
required to bring about this change. Keeping righteousness and taking name of
God is the path of we human beings, that is the saviour.]

His holiness Baba Shri Buddhanath Das, had prayed in his last birth that his

and had said that he (Baba) will establish a temple (the said temple of Lord
Jagannath) towards the end of Kaliyuga at Garoi. From here the Kalki Avatâr
will appear and Kayibalya (Mahâprasad) will be prepared and all categories of
Seers will be present in this place (in physical or ethereal form) during the
crucial Yugakarma. It is informative to state that, a large mass (in ancient
Orissa - Udra desha) believe that Mahapurusha Shri Achyutanada had descended
from Lord Jagannath. He is regarded as someone who has spiritually emerged with
Lord Jagannath and has attained Godhood, and at the same time he also has his
own identity. Hence he is called Mahapurusha (great man).

Yes, it is really quite incredible that these TM Rajas should
even be going against Guru Dev's very certain spiritual advice to make
use of our time on earth particularly by being with saints.

Oh Please! They are not going against Guru Dev, they are trying
to follow the guidelines set up by Maharishi himself long ago.

Now, leave Guru Dev out of this, we don't know what he would have
   said.

MMY was entirely clear about all of this and never ever budged
   from his position.

Maharishi was clear, at times. This policy, I know, has
consolitated during the final period of his life, but it wasn't always
the same. And Maharishi could make exceptions to this rule, as I already
said, for example in Lelystad. I don't blame you if you don't know that,
but he did budge from his position. But in setting up 'rules', he would
have to teach the administration, and usually was strong about it, I
   agree.

The Rajas have to decide to make changes that MMY never did

He did. The rules before were different (for example before the
Muktananda event), and he would make exceptions himself.

Now, maybe Maharishi would have changed this rule by now, but
don't blame the Rajas or anyone else. This rule came from Maharishi and
   he was BLUNT about it.

I am sure he was blunt to the administration. Yet, as you say
yourself, it may be time for a change. The Rajas had no problem skipping
the always-wear-a-crown thing, or inviting Beatles back, and even more
so, use them for publicity, something unthinkable when Maharishi was
still alive. And they even loosened the saints rule a bit, don't forget,
but what I suggest is, keep these changes logical and transparent.

  What is illogical?

There is a common belief in India, that once you have found your
Guru, you don't need anybody else, right? We have Maharishi, we don't
need Ammachi (or whoever), thats what you would hear in private
conversations. That is to say, a Guru-Disciple relationship is assumed.
The problem here is, that the TM movement is not at all upfront that
this is the case. They are not telling, that Maharishi is our guru, but
he is supposed only to be the founder of TM, at least publicly. Now,
   hence the confusion.

Now, with regard to Maharishi being 'Guru', if he is a Guru to the
TM people involved, to what people exactly? All TM teachers? Also TM
teachers who are not really teachers anymore? And: Do they know this?

Next: if we assume, that Maharishi is a guru to the people, which
is not publicly said, it would be still possible, that people see
different saints, as long as they don't take teaching from them, or
rather as long as they don't become their disciples *simultaneausly*.

There is an example often cited within TM, referring to Guru Dev,
not seeing another saint or speaker, who comes to town, while all the
Gurubhais go there. He stays in the Ashram, as his heart is completely
filled with his master. Now a guest comes, nobody is in the Ashram to
receive him, except Guru Dev, taking care of him, and finally the master
finds out about the story, and viola, GD is just the most dedicated and
   devoted disciple.

When citing this story, to TM teachers or sidhas, they usually
forget to say: GD was having a relationship with his master that was
personal throughout, he lived with him, he watched him daily, and he
lived in his vibration. He had a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonomic_nervous_system
It is classically divided into two subsystems: the parasympathetic nervous
system (PSNS) and sympathetic nervous system (SNS).[1][2] Relatively recently,
a third subsystem of neurons that have been named 'non-adrenergic and
non-cholinergic' neurons (because they use nitric oxide as a neurotransmitter)
have been described and found to be integral in autonomic function,
particularly in the gut and the lungs.[3]

With regard to function, the ANS is usually divided into sensory (afferent) and
motor (efferent) subsystems. Within these systems, however, there are
inhibitory and excitatory synapses between neurons.

courses at the Brahmasthan:
http://maharishiindiacourses.com/

It is a delight to briefly update you on two main developments that Arlene and
I thought you might enjoy.

First, the number of Maharishi Vedic Pandits is steadily increasing thanks to
the kind support coming from around the world. We have now crossed 1,600
Maharishi Vedic Pandits at the Brahmasthan and we expect to be around 2,000 by
year-end.
Guests in Grand Hall
Guests enjoy a celebration in the Grand Hall at the Karaundi Campus.

Second, the experiences of those coming to the International Guest Campus are
truly fabulous. If you have a moment, you might enjoy a short slideshow glimpse
of the Bijauri campus put together by Drs. Chris and Ann Crowell. Click here
for the slideshow.

Beginning in the New Year, in addition to the daily Vedic Pandit recitation and
listening to Laghu Rudrabhisheks or Maha Rudrabhisheks (11 or 121 Pandits) at
least once a week, we are planning to offer our guests an experience, during
certain weeks, of an AtiRudrabhishek (1,331 Pandits).

So far this season 118 people from 27 countries have enjoyed the Brahmasthan
campus. By the end of the season, based on current bookings we will have hosted
338 guests from 42 countries. You can get a feeling of their visits by viewing
the photos, blog and experiences on the website of the Brahmasthan guest
facility. Click here to view.

For single men, there are also several Taste of Purusha courses this season,
which offer the experience the Brahmasthan with the Purusha group at the
Bijauri campus. Click here for details.

Thank you for your kind support of this most noble and most worthwhile project.
And looking forward to seeing you whenever it might be comfortable for you to
visit.

With best wishes always,

Jai Guru Dev

You might see the still on-going PR of the TMO as more evidence of the
success of the org. But I cannot ignore that this same org has more
psychosis, suicide and meditational disorders than any meditation org I'm
 aware of.

I regularly talk to people who will mention problems as simple as having to
alter their life because they're afraid to go outside or in public. My heart
goes out to these folks. So if a book is coming out on the TMO, I would hope
there'd be some room for outreach.

anybody else! Why not?! We're making a big deal out of things we
shouldn't be making a deal out of. They go on and on with all this
bullshit about 'sanctity' -- don't give me that sanctity crap! Just
give everybody the chance to have the life they want.

Try to imagine what Clint would say if he found out that a bunch of fat
men wearing dresses and gold crowns were declaring his fellow meditators
equally unsanctified and unwelcome in the domes, for the sin of visiting
spiritual teachers other than Maharishi. Who, incidentally, is DEAD, and
thus not giving the best spiritual advice lately.

Based on only meeting him once, and very briefly, I can easily see Clint
walking up to the dome door guard, being asked for his dome pass,
pulling back his suit coat to reveal the 44 Magnum tucked into his belt,
and saying, Go ahead...make my day, as he walks past the blissnazi and
goes inside. And if he did -- or if *anyone* did the same thing and made
it public, all of this banning horseshit would be over forever. It
would be like Rick's story of Bevan getting whupped to the ground by an
angry husband and being too much of a pussy to ever do anything about
 it.

The thing that enables spiritual nazis to keep getting away with being
spiritual nazis is allowing them to keep their actions hidden. Bitching
about it on an Internet forum read by at most 50 people don't do shit.
If you don't like the policy, challenge it, and bring a couple of
reporters and a film crew with you. Anything else is silent agreement
with the nazis' right to do what they're doing.

My best Clint moment in the TMO was on an ATR course in Switzerland.
For some reason, I was given a nice room on the fourth floor -- sunny,
spacious, and with a private bath. After a few days there, the course
got a new German course leader. I guess he didn't like the room that had
been assigned to him, so he decided to take mine. I came back from lunch
one day to find that he had entered my room, packed up all my stuff and
put it into my suitcase, and placed it outside the door, along with a
note that said, I am the new course leader. I am taking this room. You
have been moved to another room on the first floor. A key to the new
room was lying on top of the note.

But I still had the key to my original room. So, after knocking and
finding it empty, I quietly opened the door and moved back in. I
gathered up all of the course leader's things, not bothering to pack
them, walked over to the window, and threw them out. I remember his puja
set making a really pleasing clanking sound as it hit the pavement
below. Then I moved back into my room, and did my afternoon's program,
not mentioning the incident to anyone else. Interestingly, NO ONE ever
mentioned it to me, either. The German nazi avoided me and all contact
with me for the rest of the course, as did anyone else with any official
 capacity with the TMO.

Buck, and others...stop bitching about the dome policies and just
challenge them. Walk right past the blissnazis at the door, plop your
ass down on the foam, and do your thing. See what happens. My bet is
that if enough people did this, you wouldn't have to bitch on FFL any
more. What, after all, are they going to DO to you? Call the cops, and
then explain to them that they're keeping you out of the domes because
you saw another teacher? Get real.

Maharishi's final words to Invincible: fine points about consciousness.
Nothing with respect to the subtle or gross body. Perhaps this is because
Maharishi spent his life in denial. His heart, kidneys, eyes, hearing and
peripheral nerves were destroyed by diabetes he refused to treat. After a
while you start to wonder if his constant references to the neck, the
heart, the body weren't just for emphasis. Perhaps he was happily trying
to be dissociated from his body. BTW, SSRS says we don't drop the body.

Technological innovation led to what I term High Tech Unstressing,

were initially taught and what they later came to learn. Maharishi's attempt
to put the Veda in the words of Western science and only gradually reveal
ultimate truth (however neatly that coheres with his philosophy of teaching
Advaita and yoga) not only failed to convince most Elite Hindus whom he

Such charges are exacerbated by current developments, which are openly

ishi helped create a full-fledged political entity called the Natural Law
Party, which aims to achieve world transformation. Fueling the party
rhetoric are premises about the universe, mankind, and social relations that
have tradition- ally been labeled Hindu, but which are promoted by the
party in the United States and other Western countries as secularized
 natural law.

Yet comparing documents written in English and in the Hindi language, the
party rhetoric has a profoundly different flavor when tasted in India. There,
the Indian corollary to the Natural Law Party—the Ajeya or unconquerable
Bharat India Party—makes no pretense about its intentions: jettisoning
alien education, alien medicine, alien defense, alien economics, alien
foreign policy, and alien laws, and urging the success of the
Indianization of India. The Ajeya Bharat Party's mission is to promote and
create a state grounded in knowledge of the laws of prakriti, the
Hindu concept of materiality or nature.

the jumps we've made in outlook, experience and being less bothered by it
all are way beyond what any of us have experienced on an aggregate of a

My inner voice told me when I started TM that Maharishi had no intention of
us becoming enlightened, that the TM sidhis were never for personal
evolution and now I see they weren't even for world peace. This inner
voice gnawed at me all of these years. Now I see that TM was a form of
amusement and a reason to be weird until my group and I eventually wised up

I am sure that by now the TMO has to be aware of the private Vedic temple in

Yes, I do have an invite for next time I'm in the area.

Spare me the bullshit that paying downtrodden, third world country little
boys to do yagyas for you is an abomination and that yagyas performed by
another don't have any bit of the power doing your own simple pujas do.
Our priests in India are associated with a pundit school on a Math. Also, I
engage all the senior temple priests in a very prestigious temple town near
a Math.Don't waste my time telling me I can do better myself. I've
performed pujas for myself for years. None of the power from these pundit
school elders and senior temple priests. I don't want to debate the value
of yagyas. But I stand by my assertions about TM/TM Sidhi Programmes.

weren't. It isn't of concern to me either way.

I'm completely comfortable with the day-to-day way they
conduct themselves. They're all very smart and thoughtful,
they all have a good sense of humor; I find most of their
 posts pretty interesting.

But I don't see them as demos or role models of
enlightenment because I don't think any such thing exists.
I think the notion that it does generates serious
confusion about the nature of enlightenment.

(It also, of course, generates opportunities for those
who are troubled by their own failure to achieve
enlightenment to attack those who consider themselves
 to have achieved it.)

The example of these three has ZERO influence on my
motivation to continue to meditate and see where it
takes me. I've very much enjoyed the journey so far.

  (kaaya + aakaashayoH sambandha-saMyamaat; laghu-tuula-samaapatteH;

The verbal root (dhaatu) of 'aa-kaasha' seems to be 'kaash':

  kAz cl. 1. A1. %{kAzate} (perf. %{cakAze} , 3. pl. %{-zire}) , to be

  see clearly , survey S3Br. xi Pa1n2. 7-3 , 87 Va1rtt. 1 Pat.

From the root 'aa-kaash', there seems to appear only one verbal
   form (in Shatapathabraahmana?):

  1 AkAz(ind. p. %{-kAzya}) to view , recognize S3Br. vii.

As a noun 'aakaasha' according to CDSL, can have at least
  the following meanings:

  2 AkAza m. (Ved.) or (later) n. (ifc. f. %{A}) a free or open space ,
vacuity AitBr. S3Br. MBh. c. [127,1] ; the ether , sky or atmosphere

the air (a stage direction implying something said by or to a person out of
  sight) Mr2icch. S3ak. c.

Well, as identical with ether above reminds us of this
  suutra:

  aakaashas tallin.gaat

That's from the samanvayaadhikaraNa of BS (I.1.22). Swami Shivananda
  translates it like this:

The word Akasa i.e., ether here is Brahman on account of characteristic
marks (of that i.e. Brahman being mentioned).

Now, the word 'prakaasha' appears at least in these suutras of YS:

  prakaashakriyaasthitishiilaM bhuutendriyaatmakaM
  bhogaapavargaarthaM dRshyam. .. 18..

  (prakaasha-kriyaa-sthiti-shiilam; bhuuta+indriya+aatmakam;

(bahiH; akalpitaa vRttiH; mahaa-videhaa tataH prakaasha+aavaraNa-kSayaH.)

 As Maharishi explained:

Referring to quantum electrodynamics, the Maharishi
explained the physics of Yogic Flying this way in a conversation with two
scientists: We teach our students that by concentration through meditation
they can create an impenetrable field of energy between the ground and their
bodies. The greater the field of energy, the higher the meditating man can
 rise.
 It is simple Q.E.D.[47][48]

Now, let's study the suutra following the YF-suutra:

bahirakalpitaa vRttirmahaavidehaa tataH prakaashaavaraNakSayaH .. 43..

The phrase 'vRttir mahaa-videhaa' could be translated e.g. to
'great mode of being bodiless'? Could that refer to the 'impenetrable
field of energy', created according to Maharishi by concentrating
on the relation between body and aakaasha??

Note that the words 'aakaasha' and 'prakaasha' are based on
the same verbal root, 'kaash'. According to Macdonell, with
nouns the prefix 'pra' has the meaning 'fore-'. We have a
feeling it often refers to something basic, or stuff, as
in 'praaNa' (from pra-an) or 'prakRti' (pra-kR). So, perhaps
'prakaasha' above refers to some kind of primal(?) light, which
appears in connection with Yogic flying, as that field of energy
causes destruction (kSayaH) of covering (aavaraNa) of light
 (prakaasha).

It seems like an YFfer becomes a mini-brahma(n); as most of
us know by now, the word 'brahma(n)' comes from to root
'bRh', which means for instance 'to expand'. So, as the universe
expands because of brahma(n), an indivual becomes like that
 doing YF! Rememeber:

 yathaa piNDe, tathaa brahmaaNDe!

According to BS, brahma(n) is aakaasha 'tallin.gaat (tat; lin.gaat)',
so it seems to make sense that if an individual concentrates on
the relation between their physical body and aakaasha, they
 become brahma(n), as it were??

Just some food for thought? -- Naught! LoL!

An Open Letter to Bevan Morris

 Dear Bevan,

I knew you on my Six Month Course in Arosa in 1976. Then again we met when
you gave a public lecture in Chicago in 1982 (I remember your mother crying
in witnessing the intense debate between us at the end of your lecture). As I
recall, at Arosa, you had a special status as a course participant, since you
periodically would visit Maharishi in Seelisberg, while the rest of us were
held steadfast in our obedience to the rules, which meant never leaving
Arosa. I also observed you exercise your authority as Maharishi's surrogate
on that course: you were determined to make sure Maharishi's will was being
done in everything that went on there. I accepted this invigilator role
because I sensed it came entirely out of your devotion to Maharishi.

Then that brief and confounding court appearance in Ottumwa [1983], where you
played an audio tape of Maharishi's gruff, one word answers (in the negative)
to my questions about the validity of my spiritual claims to represent
Maharishi (I had brought roses in anticipation of the full and final
endorsement by Maharishi). The only other time I think I found myself in rapt
conversation about you was with Tony Harding who was at Cambridge with you
(he getting a Second Class, you a First—his enthusiasm, admiration, and
reverence for you was unqualified): this was on the Two Week Extension after
 my first ATR (1975).

Now, while so many persons who were close to Maharishi, served him, and
devoted their lives to him, have left the Movement, you have remained the
loyal and faithful disciple. Not only this; but you have acted in the absence
of Maharishi (Now. . .wholly given over to unfamiliar affections—Auden),
upholding to the letter what you deem to be the inviolable truths of his
Teaching and the Tradition out of which he came. This has made you unpopular
among many initiators, former initiators, governors, ex-governors: because
they would have you compromise, adapt, modernize the Movement, to bring it
into conformity to what seems to be what reality, nature has determined
(based upon the degree to which Maharishi's vision and goals have been
realized) it is entitled to be. (Of course had Maharishi's promises been
fulfilled there never would have been any protest against the most scrupulous
enforcement of the letter of the law; but in the wake of a profound sense of
disillusionment, frustration and betrayal, the dogmatic adherence to the
context within which Maharishi first laid down his rules appears to be
maladaptive and reactionary. And yet I understand it *must* be thus; else the
whole thing will begin to collapse from the inside. The Movement will
 officially lose its soul.)

But why am I writing this letter to you, Bevan? It is to inspire you in your
very raison d'etre: which is to carry on the beautiful dream of Maharishi,
and bring about everything that you believe was his mission in the world. Now
how can this letter act in accordance with your most fundamental desire?
Simply this, Bevan: by explaining your relationship to Maharishi and how you
maintain your absolute love for and surrender to him (even in his death) in
the face of all the contradictory evidence that 1. Maharishi was not the
holy, virtuous, infallible, loving Master he implied he was [and we were
convinced he was]; 2. Transcendental Meditation and the TM-Sidhi program,
has not produced a trillionth of what we innocently and ingenuously believed
it would, based upon what Maharishi told us, and based even on our own
personal experiences (at least up to and through the mid-seventies).

What I (and others) want to know, Bevan is: How do you live with, reconcile,
integrate these damning facts about Maharishi with your present posture,
since, from all that I can infer from your attitude and actions, you believe
that everything is just as it was, say, in 1976 in Arosa: There is nothing to
explain, defend, justify about Maharishi's behaviour nor the diminishing
power and prestige of Maharishi and his Movement.

It seems a terrible strain and effort, the classic posture which is
incompatible with the very first principle of TM: innocent, simple, natural,
effortless. *Suffering is unnecessary*; *suffering means weakness*. Well,
Bevan, do you not admit Maharishi

Transcending is most important the rest is secondary. The mantras given to
initiates in the west help with the pressing material problems which everyone
needs. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi said that the mantra is best chosen according to
ones Ishata Devata but I don't know of any reliable formula provided for
determining that. Different Jyotishis have comflicting opinions. If you have
confidence in your intuition that is superior means. Jaigurudeva yahoo group is

I think Maharishi would say it beautiful, its very very beautiful this
idea of using silently this mantra. You want to give up developing some
knowledge or wealth or power quality for just love, worldly or divine? it
is a great idea. you might need to give a two-syllable feel to
Maharishiize that mantra, (which would not necesarily work for english
speakers)but you are already on the advanced techniques so thats not
such a concern necessarily. This is unfortunately not necessarily a good
place to ask such a question. You already know the answer in your heart.
