Subject: [Audyssey] Monster breeder thoughts

Well, I'm slightly into the game now, have just bought my second monster
(a worker), and am waiting for it to grow old enough to start making me
cash.

Cash flow seems actually a miner issue, sinse despite the reference I
couldn't get my current monster (even though it's a normal type), working,
whenever I went to the employment center I was told ekthis wants to
explore right now

odd indeed.

There are slight other occasions where I believe game balancing has got
ahead of the thelp system, I for instance actually had to level my
monster up quite far, sinse I was always told I didn't have enough
atributes to begin exploring.

The game does look interesting, i like the gamebook style quests mixed in
with the party management aspect.

The travel system is potentially interesting, but it does need work I
think to make the game more worth playing.

It's possible to wander the wilderness quite successfuly using the numbers
of each link and the coordinates of the current square, but I'd love
a bit of description of whatever the location is. This is both for
atmosphere reasons to make exploration actually feel! like exploration (ie
seeing new places), and because if I am guessing what the colours on the
map mean and what those arena types were in the training center, each
square is one or other type of environment, and this is info you
don't get in textual form.

I admit, as the map isn't very visible to me at all I might be entirely
wrong about this.

I think the game does look entirely promising, and if some of the issues
can be ironed out it could in fact be incredibly fun.

Beware the grue!

Dark.

my guess is that certain peple just do care about grammar online I
don't, lol! the only thing I do cap is the letter i in stuff like I
am, I will, etc, because if I do it lower case eloquence reads it
differently and it kinda doesn't ssound righht. but we're getting o t
here.
yes I have these issues and it's not only with jaws in this game. my
guess is that the game basically messes jaws's video intercept and
it's like, like you're running without the driver installed.

I gather from posts on the net that xp and fs2004 don't get on well. the

use fs2004 with jfw, as when i run it, jfw then stops reading the titles of
edit fields out, and it stops reading stuff when I use the jaws cursor.
If I can I might try to e mail the guy who did the podcast linked to on the
 pcsgames.net site.
Unfortunately though he kind of mumbled his address, and he is very odd in
that he is the only person I know of who has a mixed case e mail address lol
why couldn't he be normal and have it all lower case?

I quit it.

even if this is a work around, I have an idea why don't we e mail those

if enough of us e mail them perhaps they might try to work out if they can

what I find very odd is that not everyone is experiencing these problems, as
if it was as simple as you suggest, why aren't all jaws users experiencing

2009-06-27 Thread Zachary Kline
Hi,
I can say from personal experience that Window-Eyes does work. It isn't
as seemless as Jaws, but in some ways it's actually better. For
instance, Window-eyes correctly recognizes radio buttons and checkboxes
for what they are. Jaws just calls them buttons.
If anybody wants some help with this, let me know.
Best,
Zack.

2009-06-27 Thread Charles Rivard
I suspect that if you bring this to the attention of Freedom Scientific, you
will get the same response you would get if you approached them with the
problem of the free games that come with Windows not being accessible with
JAWS. I'll bet that they will tell you, in no uncertain terms, as I was
told when addressing the Windows games issue, that, after all, JAWS stands
for Job?? Access With Speech, and they won't do anything about the problems
that are game related. I personally think this is a crock, because, if
sighted people have access to these games, blind people should have access
to them as well, and if Freedom Scientific could?? do something to address
this issue, they should.

[Audyssey] Playing tips for MLB 2007 the show?

2009-06-27 Thread Tom Randall
Hi Everyone, yes I am still around and still gaming, just have not had much
to say on here lately.

I recently picked up a copy of mlb 2007 the show for my ps2 because I had
heard that some folks on here were able to play it. I have looked on
gamefaqs which is very often extremely helpful in terms of finding guides
and button press charts and all that for games, however I have found it very
limited for this one. I managed to start the game once and play a game and
my team actually won, but I have no idea what the devil I was doing. So if
anyone who has experience with this title can give me some hints on how to
get started with it I'd really appreciate it.

Game on!

Hi,
Yeah, I've heard FS X is a massive system resource hog. They have beafed
up all of the graphics, improved the internal cockpit views, etc and as a
result it requires a huge amount of memory and processor power to even run
the thing. As with Windows Vista what Microsoft says on the box and what
you actually need to run it is a joke.
Still I've been rather interested in trying the Shuttle Flight Simulator
for FS X. I think that would be frickin' awesome. I've always dreamed
about flying the space shuttle.

Nick Helms wrote:

FSX is not accessable. To tell you the truth, a lot of pilots have not
decided to upgrade to FSX because of the sheer demand placed upon the
user's system. Most pilot's systems simply cannot handle the processor
demands of FSX.

[Audyssey] Blind Pilots Project: Radar Contact

2009-06-27 Thread Harun
Overview of RC: http://www.sendspace.com/file/4933z1

Just a few words of note for anyone who's going to try using IYP and Radar
Contact.

-Descents in 747-400 seem to max out the Vertical Speed at -2400 feet per
minute, no matter how small the incriments. You can set the vertical speed. You
can say Set vertical speed to 1800, to set the VS to -1800 feet per minute.
The 737-400 doesn't have this problem, to my knowledge.
-If you've got the 'weather' option set in RC settings for HOLDING, then you
may be asked to do a few laps, until traffic clears up or weather inproves.
When ATC gives clearance to proceed, switch GPS switch on, and turn NAV mode
on. If the controller tells you to descent in 1,000 feet incriments, this may
be an indication that you're coming in for a visual approach... I'm trying to
figure out a way around this.

Cheers,

2009-06-27 Thread shaun everiss
yeah, well hal has an official lonewolf map.
which is saying something.

I suspect that if you bring this to the attention of Freedom Scientific, you
will get the same response you would get if you approached them with the
problem of the free games that come with Windows not being accessible with
JAWS. I'll bet that they will tell you, in no uncertain terms, as I was told
when addressing the Windows games issue, that, after all, JAWS stands for
Job?? Access With Speech, and they won't do anything about the problems that
are game related. I personally think this is a crock, because, if sighted
people have access to these games, blind people should have access to them as
well, and if Freedom Scientific could?? do something to address this issue,
they should.

I wonder if I load up window eyes for use with fs2004 if that would avoid
jaws issues as I would run window eyes while using fs, then restart jfw once
I quit it.

even if this is a work around, I have an idea why don't we e mail those
morons at freedom scientiphic and give them some work to do.
if enough of us e mail them perhaps they might try to work out if they can
fix the problem there end.
what I find very odd is that not everyone is experiencing these problems, as
if it was as simple as you suggest, why aren't all jaws users experiencing
the same problems as us when they load fs2004.

[Audyssey] solution for jaws and fs2004 issues

2009-06-27 Thread alex wallis

hi list.
luckily no need to talk to fs about the jaws issues and fs2004.

lol perhaps jaws should be renamed so it stands for jobless access with
speech.

anyway, on to my solution.

I have checked this by doing several restarts of the simulator and jaws is
still holding up nicely.
you only need to do the following if you load fs2004 and you then find your
jaws gets completely screwed up as in you are not getting edit field titles
announced, and when you root jaws cursor to pc info is not being read.

the only way til now to fix the jaws problems was a total pc restart.
trust me you will no if you have to follow this procedure.

perhaps this should be posted on the blind pilots project for future
reference, and maybe mentioned in a podcast.

anyway, the solution to the jaws issue is as follows
I found this when reading about other nasty issues people have with fs2004.

you are going to have to edit the fs2004 cfg file.

Now in order to find this, you are going to need to go into your documents
and settings folder under c.
next, you are going to need to go to the account for which fs2004 is
installed, so if its administrator that account for example.

if its not there, just keep trying you will find it eventually.
when you are under that account, look for a folder called application data.
When in there, look for the folder called microsoft, and under that the
folder called fs9.

Now you are at the location where the cfg file is located.
I would suggest before editing it in case you make a complete mess of it you
back the file up.
done that? right now open the file in notepad, just pressing enter on it
should work.

now hears what you need to look for
you should be able to find a line called
FULL_SCREEN=1
you need to change that value of 1 to 0
so the line should look like this
FULL_SCREEN=0

then save it and close the file.
changing that value tells fs2004 to start in window mode not full screen
mode.
I have no idea why it fixed my issue, seeing as the jaws problems continued
even after fs2004 was unloaded, but from what I read on the net doing this
has helped a lot of people out, and it seems to have solved my problems.

Let me know if this helps anyone else out.

Hi Everyone, yes I am still around and still gaming, just have not had
 much
 to say on here lately.

I recently picked up a copy of mlb 2007 the show for my ps2 because I had
heard that some folks on here were able to play it. I have looked on
gamefaqs which is very often extremely helpful in terms of finding guides
and button press charts and all that for games, however I have found it
 very
limited for this one. I managed to start the game once and play a game
 and
my team actually won, but I have no idea what the devil I was doing. So
 if
anyone who has experience with this title can give me some hints on how to
get started with it I'd really appreciate it.

 Game on!

Now in order to find this, you are going to need to go into your documents
and settings folder under c.
next, you are going to need to go to the account for which fs2004 is
installed, so if its administrator that account for example.

if its not there, just keep trying you will find it eventually.
when you are under that account, look for a folder called application
data.
When in there, look for the folder called microsoft, and under that the
folder called fs9.

Now you are at the location where the cfg file is located.
I would suggest before editing it in case you make a complete mess of it
you back the file up.
done that? right now open the file in notepad, just pressing enter on it
should work.

now hears what you need to look for
you should be able to find a line called
FULL_SCREEN=1
you need to change that value of 1 to 0
so the line should look like this
FULL_SCREEN=0

then save it and close the file.
changing that value tells fs2004 to start in window mode not full screen
mode.
I have no idea why it fixed my issue, seeing as the jaws problems
continued even after fs2004 was unloaded, but from what I read on the net
doing this has helped a lot of people out, and it seems to have solved my
problems.

So
 if
anyone who has experience with this title can give me some hints on how
 to
get started with it I'd really appreciate it.

 Game on!

 Tom

Re: [Audyssey] Playing tips for MLB 2007 the show?

2009-06-27 Thread Ryan Conroy
Hi Tom,

When you're at bat, you can use the following buttons:
X is swing, circle is bunt, square is power swing.

When you're pitching, the buttons go like this:

X is pitch one, circle is pitch two, triangle is pitch three, and square is
pitch four. R1 is pitch five if the pitcher has a fifth pitch. You press one of
the picth buttons, and then you press X to pitch the ball. You can also use the
left analogue stick to move the ball to different locations.

If I were you, I'd turn on the auto fielding option. This way the computer will
field the ball for you, and if you turn on the auto throw mode, they'll throw
the ball to the bases for you. If you choose to throw the ball yourself, circle
throws to first, triangle to second, square to third, and X to home.

Hope this helps. If you need anymore help, please don't hesitate to ask.
Ryan C.
