How to get a high score from the first bonus level? Here comes a s p o i l e r! Start tapping the up arrow key like crazy during the introduction of the bonus level to rack up a bank of taps, so to speak. Continue tapping it throughout the level. I use a finger from each hand and hammer away at it as fast as I can all the time. If you drift off course, only tap the appropriate right or left arrow key twice to get your ship back over the landing pad in the center. Hi charles. I already btry and do the shields asap rather than the ships, but often i find I'm not quick enough. For the bombs, I tend to find it very unclear where they're actually falling until they hit, which is why i tend to lose lives especially when vector starts dropping multiple ones at once. Hi Tom. for the lander level, I actually found those tips given in the Jammin jerry review that used to be on the bsc page rather helpful. Hammer the up arrow mercilessly all the time, and only press left or right when you here the howling wind sound go off to one side (if your on easy you've also got the beeps in center to help you line up). Generally, I find I press right arrow once, then have to hit left, and sort of swing around sometimes, but as long as I'm careful, and very sparing on left and right I can usually always guarantee to land successfully and get my extra. Hi tom. I find I can get through 13-15 at least on easy, and on normal only losing one life. the main thing I find with troop, is need to be selective with enemies. Hovercraft are imho the most dangerous, so I go for them first, while I leave luna lifters until there is nothing else pressing sinse they won't actually kill me if I miss them. I also play with the central locator on permiantly, sinse not only is it hard to remember what side your on sometimes, but also those swaying ships are soemthing you always need to be aware of especially on level 15 as your window for killing them is very short. I also find that being very! quick when a ship is targitted helps quite a lot, actually quicker than in the targiting demo sinse there are many occasions when i'll get to a ship just as it lands and need to shoot before it does. Hi, Agreed. I rarely if ever beat Lord Vector himself. I can get through the standard levels well enough, but if I make it to him with one or two lives remaining he kills me with one or two bombs, and game over. Hi, I know David managed to get Vector the other night on normal, but only because he had aboutfive lives to juggle. I have never done that on normal, though I've done it quite a few times on easy. The thing is that a lot of the time you just have to follow Vector's ship...the bombs are way too hard to actively try to avoid. I'd also recommend just plugging away...at that point laser accuracy won't do ya much good. Hi, Wow! I'm impressed. I have never had five lives at the end on easy let alone normal. Here is to admitting I'm not a very good troopenum player. By the time Lord Vector comes I'm down to my last two lives, last super laser, last portal, whatever. Everyone says hold onto your special items until Vector comes, but I find if I don't use them I'll never get through levels 13 through 15 alive. They are just to hard to get through using the standard laser. At least for me. Hi Thomas, Well, it's impossible to get five lives on easy. On normal you get a fifth life from the second bonus level, and on insane you can even get a sixth if you're good enough. Hi Hayden, Thanks. That answers my question. I've never beaten the second bonus level on normal or higher so that's why I never have that many lives going into a battle with Lord Vector. I don't do that well with the bonus levels. The landing level is impossible for me as I always crash, and the second bonus level overwelms me with supreme firepower. Hi, Yikes! Bomber Madness is really hard. Those blasted bombers are extremely hard to kill on insane. They are like trying to blow up a Borg ship. Lol! Well, for me the hardest ships to kill on insane are the Gorbian ships. As you can't just center them and blow them up. By the time I get the virtical and horizontal crosshairs lined up they are on me like flies. I need a few extra ground nukes on hand when taking on those ships.
