[JAWS-Users] yoga notebooks and insert key?

Hi all,
I received new Yoga x1 laptop with win 10 it is notebook, which is having
touch display and pen inside.
I turned off the combination to work alt f4 witouth the fn key pressed.
But now I am facing problem, that when I will try press ins. key with j,
f12 etc. it is not working. I read that it is not there but the ins. key is
displayed on a keyboard.
Any sugestions?

[JAWS-Users] lenoto laptops and insert

Hi all,
I discovered one interesting thing.
In my toshiba when I press ins. p or ; can turn off/on jaws or pc cursor.
But in Thinkpads notebooks or lpatops from Lenovi before IBM It is not
working despite insert is working normally.
Do you know somebody why is this happening? In bios is no option to turn
on/off.
I am usinmg laptop keyboard in this case but desktop layout is more
suitable.

Hi all,
First what I was found on FS webpage that people in the Spain should have
jaws for a free it is some contract between government as I understood.
I was calling yesterday FS support and ask them directly and they answer
was, that at this time, they aren't planning something like as Aisquared
and MS.
I think, that we should end this rumors, but tell me, where you get this
info.
For me as citizenship of USA would be good, but I should only dreams.
Remember, that this is one of the busyness part of the company and if they
will not receive money for the product, somebody must fund them.

Enhancements in JAWS 18.0.1811 (Public Beta 2)


The following is a list of improvements made between the first Public Beta
and Public Beta 2. Note that while many customer reported enhancements are
included in this release, the following is a list of more notable changes.


Lower the Audio from Other Programs While JAWS is Speaking


In Windows 8 and later, you can now specify that the volume of audio from
other programs be lowered while JAWS is speaking using the Eloquence or
Vocalizer Expressive synthesizers as well as any SAPI5 synthesizer. This is
commonly known as audio ducking. For example, if you are listening to music
or playing a video and JAWS begins talking, the volume of the music or
video will be slightly lowered so you can comfortably hear JAWS and then
raised back to its current level when JAWS stops talking.


For JAWS users with a braille display, you can also choose to mute JAWS
speech (INSERT+SPACEBAR, S) while listening to audio from other programs
and still use JAWS with braille output only, without the audio from the
other programs being reduced.


By default, audio remains at the same volume as JAWS speech. To change
this, there are two ways. The easiest way is to open the Startup Wizard
from the JAWS Help menu and select the Lower the volume of other programs
while JAWS is speaking checkbox located on the Speech Settings page.


Alternatively, you can change this option through Settings Center by doing
the following:
   1.   Press INSERT+F2, and select Settings Center.
   2.   Press CTRL+SHIFT+D to load the JAWS default settings.
   3.   In the Search edit box, type "volume" without the quotes.
   4.   Press DOWN ARROW to move to "Lower the volume of other programs while
  JAWS is speaking" in the filtered search results in the tree view.
   5.   Press SPACEBAR to toggle this option.
More Dynamic Braille Auto Advance Mode


Auto Advance Mode is equivalent to the Say All command for braille readers
and has been available in JAWS for many years. After performing the
appropriate command on your braille display (left and right selector
buttons on the Focus series displays), the braille display is automatically
panned at a specific speed through an entire document, automatically
skipping over blank segments and blank lines. In prior versions, users
could configure how long JAWS paused before automatically panning the
display. Once configured, the display would pan at the same speed
regardless of how much information was on the display, so most users would
set the timer for optimal reading when the display was full. However, if
the display panned to a short line containing only a few words with the
remaining cells being empty, which could occur more frequently with larger
displays such as those with 40 or 80 cells, this could be inconvenient as
the user would have to wait for the display to advance which could cause an
interruption with reading.


To improve the reading experience when using Auto Advance Mode, JAWS now
pans faster or slower depending on the length of the current braille line.
The display will pan faster for short lines so you can instantly move to
the next segment without having to wait once you have finished reading, but
will pan slower for longer lines up to a maximum length of time which is
used when the display is full. This maximum value can be configured through
Settings Center using the new Auto Advance Maximum Interval option. By
default, it is set to 5000 milliseconds, or five seconds.


For example, if you have an 80 cell display and the current braille line
takes up the majority of the display, JAWS will pan the display after five
seconds. If the display pans to a short line containing only a few words
and the remaining cells are blank, JAWS will pan the display within a
couple seconds.


Improved Performance when Using JAWS and ZoomText Together


JAWS 18 introduces greatly improved interoperability with the soon to be
released ZoomText 11. Users of both these industry leading products will
experience more seemless operation when running JAWS 18 and ZoomText 11
together regardless of the order in which they are installed as well as
which product is started first.


When JAWS 18 and ZoomText 11 are running together, users should note the
following:
  JAWS handles all speech functions except for ZoomText's App Reader
  feature and speech directly from ZoomText , such as ZoomText scripts.
  All ZoomText magnification features will continue to work as
  expected. In addition, ZoomText will now visually highlight and track
  during a JAWS Say All, or when navigating using the Virtual Cursor.
  If there is a keystroke conflict, the JAWS keystroke is used instead.
  Otherwise, JAWS and ZoomText keystrokes will continue to work as
  expected.
  ZoomText handles all touch related functions.


Since JAWS takes over all speech functions when running with ZoomText, this
also includes mouse echo. If you want the mouse to echo as

I am waiting for update as well.
It is interesting, on one computer, where I did fresh installation and
installed Jaws no problems.
But in second still waiting and I was surprised with video display issues,
because Freedom released now new version of Jaws and it is surprising for
me, why is this happening.

JAWS
  In response to customer feedback, FSCast notifications are only
  checked for when JAWS starts, similar to the JAWS update
  notification. You will not be interrupted during the day, unless you
  happen to restart JAWS after a new FSCast has posted.
  This update includes the latest braille display drivers from HIMS for
  the Braille Edge and Braille Sense.
  Dictionary pronunciation rules have been added so that JAWS now
  correctly speaks the name abbreviation for American Printing House as
  "A P H".
  Resolved an issue where the Braille keys button in the Braille Viewer
  was not available. The Braille Viewer enables a sighted instructor or
  developer to simulate using a braille display with JAWS when a
  physical display is not connected.
  Addressed issues with text sometimes becoming jumbled when typing
  contracted braille using a braille display into various edit fields.
  In Windows 10, addressed a reported issue where JAWS was not
  announcing the current level when expanding or collapsing tree view
  items, such as books in the Contents tree view in the JAWS help

  customer reported issue where the URL of the link was being displayed
  instead of the actual text of the link.
Microsoft Word
  When attempting to position the cursor using a braille display cursor
  routing button, addressed an issue where the cursor was not moved to
  the correct location when focused in a table.
Web Browsers
  In Firefox, addressed a reported issue where the contents of some
  edit fields were not being read by JAWS while navigating with the
  Virtual Cursor.
  Resolved a customer reported issue with ARIA alerts not being spoken
  consistently in Internet Explorer.
  When using INSERT+5 to hear the foreground and background colors,
  addressed an issue where the background color in edit fields was not

the JAWS window. In Windows 10, this enables you to quickly open the folder
where you can explore various JAWS settings folders, launch the Synthesizer
and Braille Manager to add or remove speech synthesizers or braille
displays, remove product activation, and more. Previously, you would have
to search for "utilities" in the Start menu to locate this folder. This
menu item is also available in Windows 7.
•In Windows 10, resolved an issue where JAWS would unexpectedly become
unresponsive for several seconds when switching between apps.
•Addressed a reported issue where text in the Virtual Viewer could not be
copied with MAGic running.
•Resolved a customer reported issue encountered on certain computers where

option should only be unavailable if a braille display that does not offer
status cells is connected.

Microsoft Outlook
•Addressed a reported issue where the checked or unchecked status of shared
calendars was not being shown in braille.
•When pressing INSERT+H from a message list, resolved an issue where
Outlook specific hot keys were not being displayed.

Microsoft Word
•If the data in a table cell contains line breaks, JAWS now shows the first
line of data up to the first line break on the braille display. To review
the rest of the line in braille, users can press the Next Braille Line or
Previous Braille Line commands or pan through the text.

Web Browsers
•In response to customer feedback, JAWS no longer limits the amount of text
it will read in an alt attribute for an image.
•Addressed a reported issue where empty combo boxes were being skipped when
navigating by word in Smart Navigation. JAWS now announces "space" when
encountering an empty combo box while moving by word.
•Resolved an issue with ARIA alerts not always being spoken after selecting

where JAWS was not indicating the required state in speech or braille with

the focus change instead of just stopping the Say All with no indication of

•JAWS now recognizes ARIA switch controls and correctly announces the

role="cell" aria attributes. In order for JAWS to properly recognize these

There is any problem if you set as you are writing and under options/voices
set to none, no punctuation's should be read, but in version 17 it isn't
working properly and I informed FS about this.
For example I am having in customize punctuation set all and voices none,

This is a note on the difference between changing punctuation settings in
Jaws options, Insert + V, & customize punctuation in the default settings
center / configuration manager.  They work backwards from one another.

When setting punctuation in Jaws options / quick settings, this controls
the
amount of
punctuation JAWS will speak / recognize.  The default setting is most.  To
hear less
punctuation spoken you would select some or none.

When making changes in the customize punctuation list, this basically tells

Jaws how much of a selected punctuation mark to ignore.  If you do not want
Jaws to speak/recognize a particular punctuation mark you want to choose
the
" all " selection.  You will have 4 radio buttons to arrow up or down
through.  They are none, some, most, & all.  In these selections they work
backwards than what you would think.  For example;  If you choose " none "
for the dollar sign, Jaws will speak / recognize every dollar sign in
whatever you are reading.  On the other hand, if you choose the " all "
radio button, Jaws will not speak / recognize any dollar signs.

Hope this helps some of you understand the differences between the 2
punctuation setting options.

Smart Navigation, More Efficient Interaction with Complex Web Pages and
Applications


Today and in the future, users will be faced with an increased need to work
with complex web forms, tables, and even applications that run inside of a
web browser. This will impact your day to day interactions with services
on-line such as banking and shopping, in addition to many web apps found in
both companies and government agencies. For instance, Internet Explorer can
be used to log onto a Microsoft SharePoint server to collaborate with other
co-workers and create and store documents. The new Smart Navigation™
feature is designed to make it more efficient when navigating web-based
applications with the Virtual Cursor as the LEFT and RIGHT ARROW or CTRL
+LEFT and CTRL+RIGHT ARROW commands move by control instead of character
and word. This makes navigation such as moving across toolbars, tab strips,
and navigation links more like navigating around a desktop application.
Pressing the Say Character, Say Word, or Say Line commands twice quickly
changes to the traditional navigation by character, word, line, sentence,
and paragraph so you can review the text of the control. Smart Navigation
resumes when you move to a different control by pressing UP or DOWN ARROW
or TAB. Alternatively, you can use the INSERT+X command to quickly toggle
Smart Navigation on or off depending on the type of web site you are
navigating.


For example, if you use the LEFT and RIGHT ARROW keys to move across a tab
strip, you might hear JAWS announce something like; "Home tab selected,"
"Insert tab," and "Page Layout tab." If you wanted to review the items on
the tab strip character by character, press the Say Character (NUM PAD 5),
Say Word (INSERT+NUM PAD 5), or Say Line (INSERT+UP ARROW) commands twice
quickly. You can now navigate by character or word until you press DOWN
ARROW to move away from the tab strip to another control.


Smart Navigation is off by default. To turn it on, there are a few ways.


The quickest way to enable Smart Navigation is through the Startup Wizard
which automatically launches after JAWS is installed. When the wizard
starts, select the Next button until you reach the Common Options page. You
will be focused on a group of radio buttons where you can use the ARROW
keys to choose the Smart Navigation option you want to use (Controls and
Tables or Controls). Pressing TAB moves you to another group of radio
buttons that allow you to select how Forms Mode activates. For the best
experience with Smart Navigation, it is recommended that users set Forms
Mode to Semi-Auto or Manual. This prevents JAWS from unexpectedly turning
on Forms Mode while navigating with the ARROW keys. Once you have changed
the options you want, continue selecting Next until you reach the Braille
Settings page and then select Finish to save your changes. Smart Navigation
will now be enabled for any environments that use the Virtual Cursor.


Alternatively, Smart Navigation can be configured through Settings Center
or Quick Settings. For instance, you may want to use Smart Navigation in
Firefox, but not in Internet Explorer.


You can also temporarily toggle Smart Navigation on or off using the INSERT
+X command. For instance, if you have configured Smart Navigation to be
enabled by default and you encounter a web page where you would prefer not
to use it, you can press INSERT+X to turn it off and use the more
traditional navigation. JAWS will switch back to Smart Navigation when
focus moves away from the browser or you navigate to a different web site.
This command is also useful if you do not want to use the Say Character,
Say Word, or Say Line commands twice quickly to switch to standard
navigation. It offers the additional benefit of not automatically switching
back to Smart Navigation when you move to a different control with the UP
or DOWN ARROW keys. You can just press INSERT+X again to toggle back to
Smart Navigation when you are ready. As Smart Navigation is toggled, the
JAWS focus will always remain at the current location of the toggle.


Anytime you are using Smart Navigation, JAWS will work in Screen Layout.
This presents pages in the virtual buffer similar to how they appear
visually on the screen. Toolbar buttons or other lists of controls that are
visually laid out horizontally on the screen are displayed on one line in
the virtual document, allowing a single press of the DOWN ARROW to skip the
entire toolbar instead of having to move from button to button to get past
it.


For a great example, please try JAWS 17 on a web form such as the WebTrack
sample form on the Surf's Up pages. On this page, you will be able to see
the power of navigating more efficiently with the DOWN ARROW then in
previous versions.


Smart Navigation offers two modes, Controls and Tables, or Controls.

That is a message that I never encountered before. I was reading the local
paper and it was quite sluggish.
Then the message jaws requires restart to continue with speech popped up
About a minute later it came up again. I tried to restart jaws and nothing
happened. then a message internet explorer requires restart to continue
with
speech.
The only way that I could restart the computer was with the reset button.

[JAWS-Users] two experience with new Jaws

Hi all,
1. I hat problem, when I hat punctuation set to none, still it informed me
for example data (d) the braces were spoken.
2. I hat problem, when I pressed for example / * etc. that says some mixed
language punctuation's.
Today I received info from Freedomscientific, that about second problem,
when punctuation is presented wrong they know and will be fixed in next
update.
I received, that I must change punctuation from the setting
center/punctuation, when I must put to none.
I don't know, why it wasn't applied when I changed in voice resp. startup
wizard, but it is now fixed and no more () are spoken.
Interesting is, that when I did it through the setting center, that the
punctuation now is presented correctly,  as it it is.
Nice to know, now looks like, that it isn't in English as in version 16.
which I am using but corrected with the syntetyzer in Czech.

Hello randy,
 you can find windows update by performing the following steps. 1. Press
windows+I to get to settings. 2. Right arrow to update and security, down
arrow will not work in the settings app. 3. The first item is windows
update. 4. Press enter.5. Windows update will check for any available
updates , if it finds any, they will be downloaded and installed
automatically, on all versions of windows 10, including insider preview
builds, of which I am running the latest, build 10537.

When I am using beta of jf 17, it will not tell me the comma, period, space
etc. but some characters, which aren't identical in English or Czech.
How is jaws saying the punctuation's for you? If correct says space-bar,

Hi,

I am running win ten here and find the beta to be quite stable here.  I
only had 1 situatioln whare I had to reboot the system while using olutlook
2013.  After that it is humming here with no problems.

Hi all,
At work, we are using few programs, which are using java or java applets as
internet browsers.
For example Eclipse and theyr application ILC Internet labor claim known as
ILC.
But some webpages, which are suing java, there si problem. I am having java
bridge installed.
In one webpage, when I will allow java, there is login, which isn't
speaking, for example where put name, where password, should help me there
simply label the editfields or I must make some script for this?
Second page is elearning, which will use java player, where are some
instructions, how to work with screenreader, but still it isn't working and
if I hat luck, I am able get to the first page, but not possible move far
to the next. OCR functions in those cases failled.
Any tips or tricks?

My understanding of this is, that they are going to follow the Apple model.
The apple owners get regular updates without further payments for each
update.

There should check somethink like this file: vfsxxx.dll and the version
should be newer, but can't find the file at this time and the mail from FS.
It has happened to me, when I installed to the windows 7. jf 14, because
some component wasn't updated. The same happened as well in win 8.x.
If you will wait till tommorow, I will try find in the old archive the mail

FYI. I downloaded the new iTunes but jaws 15 does not rread the list of
audiobooks. When I go to an author and tab to see the list of books jaws
will not read them. Even if I use left or right or up or down. I do not
know about jaws 16.

That is what I am thinking that will eventually happen - Microsoft not
supporting Windows 7 and then 8.

the folder is in the system disk, what isn't possible for me the uploading
there, because as a system disk, I am having 64 gB SSD and as for data the

Apparrently, using windows 8.1 OneDrive comes preinstalled, so there is no
need to install it?

If you press insert f11, you should get the System Tray. There is the icon
talking about windows 10.

Try something like as everesthome, sysoft sandra etc.
But my question is, how did you get to the baloon? I am using win 8.1 pro
with mediapack, but I hear, that win 10 is ready or like this, but I can't
click on it.

I believe the icon is installed by a Windows update. So if you don't have
Windows update set to automatic it may not have been installed and you will

have to go to Windows update in the control panel and install it.  Tom

Please do not misrepresent software that you have no idea how it works with

jaws.
We, who use mcafee on this list, freely choose to do so.
We are not trying to push it on anyone, we are just saying that it works
well with Jaws.
after opening mcafee, tab once to the interface and use your up and down
arrows to get used to the program.
Personally I have been using mcafee products for years and I am very happy
with them.
everyone on this list makes up his or her mind on what software is
personally better for themselves...

Hi Ted,
There is no real reason Adobe needs to be running until you need it.
Some programs run at startup so that they can be updated automatically,
but if a person is mindful of their system updates can be carried out
during
scheduled routine maintenance.
On all of my systems, I have only 3 programs loading at startup:
MSE, Jaws and Auto-Sizer.
What programs should be running  at startup will vary from system to
system.

But my question is, how did you get to the baloon? I am using win 8.1 pro
with mediapack, but I hear, that win 10 is ready or like this, but I can't
click on it.

David- My processor has been running very hard and I am told it is nearly
the end of its life.  I have a laptop and I am told that replacing the
processor is not an option.  How can I check my processor in case it has

opstacles. For example in one laptop is working perect, on second will not

Has anyone ever found out how to delete and create a new partition using
Windows 7 disk management?

Unfortunately, it is a very significant change MLB has done. We are working
on other ways to get around it for look at a new site to pull the scores

This week, both laptops I  use on a  Federal job were finally upgraded to
Microsoft 2013. I  am having problems with them both but  one of them will
not acknowledge the alt key. Any suggestions on the problem?



Ironically, my personal computer was upgraded this year as well with little
problem. The circumstances were similar as the upgrade was from 2007 to
2013
in all three machines. The only difference is my personal computr has JAWS
15 and my work computers have JAWS 14.

Tis is problem of all backuping SW, based on unix etc. because you can't

Windows 7 has it's own ability to create system images. In effect allowing
a
user to reload their system in case of something bad happening. The problem
is creating the backup image is accessible but the reload process is not
because you have to boot the system up using a repair disk that brings up
your system in a pre-windows state.

Hi,
Not included, but if you have been connected to the internet, during
installation jaws is downloading the component. Or if no connection to the
internet, you must ahve the components in the same folder as instlalation
of jaws.
My question is, why version 14, 15. or 16 need their ownl ocr component and
omnipage? I am haivng those componets 3times.

Hi,

I have installed the latest build of Jaws 16 Professional on a WINDOWS 7
64 Bit Laptop and, when trying to use the new functionality, to read an
inaccessible PDF document, I'm told that the OCR Component is not
installed. I would have thought it would have been included in the main
JAWS install? What do I need to do to get this working?

Any help/advice is gratefully received.

Hi all,
I am having difficulties, maybe, because this version of JF isn't
supporting this office?
I am waiting for SMA, but there is some procedure in my company.
1. When I press ctrl. o. I don't have classic dialogue as in 2003, there
are some tabs maybe last opened or edited documents, only on last tab is
something as unsaved and there when I press space-bar I can select the
files.
2. When I press ctrl. c/v I am facing some dialogue how to copy/paste, I
must press esc. to close it.
3. When I will go to the some folder where are some xls/doc files, the
explorer is frozen and I must few minutes, when the window is possible move
between files.
4. When I press ctrl. f4 before I could close all files, now each file I
must close separately.
5. When I must enable some macros, I am not able move cursor to the edit
button as before.
6. When closing documents 2003 asked me if save yes/no, here is don't save
and as I was before pressing yes now it is confusing me.
Any help would be good.

This is what Jaws tells us about each version.
Standard Licenses Become Home Use Edition for Non-Commercial Use
Most end users who are buying new computers today, end up purchasing
systems
that come with professional editions of Windows 7 or Windows 8. In order to

make this easier and more affordable, we have changed the traditional JAWS
Standard so it will now work on either Home or Professional versions of
Windows. At the same time, we are changing the name from Standard to JAWS
Home Edition and it is intended for Non-Commercial Use as well as ideal for

anyone who intends to use JAWS on their personal laptop or desktop
computer.
Just like the JAWS Professional licenses, JAWS Home Use Edition licenses
will allow JAWS 16 to install and run on both Home and Professional
editions
of Windows.

When running a JAWS Home Use Edition license, JAWS will announce in both

The only issue I could see is if one still had XP Pro on something and had
to run 15 or older, it might insist on the pro license.

 From a conversation with Jim Ellsworth, as I recall it.  Donggkles are
provided when JAWS users need repeat refreshes of authorizations.
the donggle essentially hardwires JAWS in current and future versions to
one's computer, avoiding the problem of authorizing with each upgrade.
It's not hard to see that the donggle, unless it has built in fraud
protection, could enable anyone to use JAWS without a license.  So how
do I know?  I had to request re-ups to my update authorizations twice in
the last six months due to computer issues. Yes, the donggle is
interesting.  Anything to streamline the somewhat cumbersome
authorization process is welcome in my house.

I changed the BIOS on my Gateway laptop. I switched the function keys to
standard. My friend created a backup image and boot disk beforeI made
changes to the BIOS a couple of days ago. Do I need to create a new
image and boot disk to reflect the current changes in the BIOS?

Have you tried Classic Shell? The free software that gives you back the
classic start menu in Windows 8 or 8.1? It is free, and works really well.
Another choice, that costs a few dollars, is Start Is Back. This one gives
you a choice of Start Menu styles, the XP menu, or the Windows 7 version
too. Again, there is a version for Windows 8 and one for 8.1. I also like
Freetec's idea. It seems like it would be just as easy to use, and you're
adding nothing extra to your PC in the process.

Hi Marek,
Are you using 32 bit version of xp?
If you are running 64 bit, you can only use Brltty with nvda, another
screenreader, but I am sure it will drive your display as brltty
supports alva devices.
I have successfully set up an alva braille terminal on a 64 bit windows7
with nvda, but Jaws can't drive it as it doesn't have driver for 64 bit.

And this is stupidity. I don't like run VM under windows will take a lot of
resources. Do you think, that is hard programm driver, which should work?
Because the braille display costed a lot of money, despite it is 8 years

HI all,

I didn't know about the screenreading support on winxp 64 I just wanted
to make sure Marek is running windows 32 bit.

Marek, what's your exact problem using your alva satellite? It should
work on a 32 bit jaws, because alva satellite is inlisted among
supported devices there.

If you have to run 64 bit windows, you can install a virtual machine to
run your braille display with 32 bit windows. I know that it's not what
you would like but it's the only possibility at the moment.

Hi everybody,

my Tsi navigator 40 cell display works with the pb40 serial driver which
was developed for he powerbraille 40 display.
I could drive my navigator with a USB to serial adapter, made by Aten
international. Perhaps it has an uc232 chip in it.
What you can do now to get the pb40 serial driver in jaws15 32 bit is to
ask freedom for a special build which includes the driver.
You need to have an authorized Jaws to request this special build.
I have an ilm code, and I got the build, and tested it, but
despite the pb40serial shows up among the braille displays which you can
add to jaws the driver won't work till you authorize your product.
One more important thing: You can only use this driver in a 32bit
edition of Jfw.

On 64 bit version of windows there is an alternative

I am having exported mails in .eml files and I would like import to the OE
in win XP.
But not sure, how to do it, I am in folder, where mails are exported, I
will select all of them, lock the left mouse button and what to do next.?

Hello Eric,

Thank you for the update notice.
I've unfortunately had issues with the last two beta releases. I've
submitted bug reports pertaining to these problems and hopefully when I do
the final upgrade, they will no longer be an issue.
What I would like to ask and perhaps others can also answer, is if it would
be better to uninstall the JFW 15 beta I currently have on my system and do
a fresh install of Jaws 15 or would it not matter either way and just go
ahead and install the final Jaws release over the beta?

Mark,
You're correct there is no insert key in a mack..

So, you do not have a jaws key.
Use your FN key and give it a command to perform, when you press a certain
key and make it perform the jaws key (Insert) duties.
Since you are running jaws.

Jaws Key:
You can assign the Insert key, If you selected to use the desktop
configuration.
And if you select the laptop configuration then it would be the caps lock
key.
I believe this is correct and where can you find the menu to switch back
and
forth?

I know the major Braille displays should automatically hae their drivers
within JAWS but seems the children are still fighting and kids will be
kids. You would think that companies\Corporations would be a wee bit more

I found it somewhere. No CD was in the box. But I was surprised, I
expected, that JF 15 will find the braille drivers, respective will have
support in the package, but didn't worked. Still I need drivers from
manufacturer or not?

You should contact HumanWare tech support. I believe there is a CD that
comes with this Braille display that puts in the drivers so it should work.

In this beta release, the check for updates does not work. I alreadi

I just keep hoping they can fix some of the bugs that seem to keep being
carried forward.  I can go to certain websites and Jaws locks application
file for Jaws has encountered a problem and needs to close...

I almost wish they could make a separate version for corrent OS and a
different one for Win 8.  I prefer Eloquence for its rapid speech so I
don't
get overly excited about the new expressive Vocalizer, although it does
sound better; and my Windows 8 computer doesn't have touch screen
capability
since I upgraded two-year-old laptop.

I don't agree, it is new version, it must be installed beta first, which
can use authorization from 14, this will be updated, but not from 14 to 15.

connected through mobile or 3g.
Why isn't published only the small package or all installer. The installer

this too is a windows7 home premium 32bits machine. I so wish, all of
these files  were packaged as part of the jaws installer. Since if i
were not connected to theinternet, it might just have resulted in an error.

We misunderstanding. My question is, if there is something for example add
new scripts, new function, and Freedom will release this as a main version
or as a part of the released version.
Or it is up to them, that they are so nice, release many versions resp.
subversion's included in versions 14.?

You won't use an SMA till version 15. All the minor updates within a single
version like 14.0 to 14.x are not upgrades to a higher version. HTH

Hi,
I mhat some issue in win 7 6e bit. I reinstalled severall times not helped.
From Support I received info, that all updates from win Update must be
installed, file Wdf01000.sys must be higher than 1.11. version, which
wasn't. When I installed ar updates I removed and installed JF again and it
was solved.

Hi:

Upgraded to windows 7 Friday afternoon and had this same problem.  The fix
is uninstall jaws completely including all shared components and then
reinstall Jaws.  Hope this helps.

[JAWS-Users] Lotus sametime and chat

Hi all,
With a new updating JF I am having problem with lotus Sametime.
When I am chatting and press ctrl.t will bring me to the chat history or 
where I can write text. But now from some reason not, it will tell me only 
area expandid. I must close and open the window again.
Before I will sent ticket, is somebody experiencing the same?
