Hi Kevin, You ask a BIG question, which requires time to marshal a response. Does anaerobic metabolism cause cancer? Warburg had quite a bit to say about oxygen and cancer, but I am not sure that he gave an answer to that question. What he did find in cancerous tissue was impaired or defective mitochondrial processes. It is in the mitochondria that cellular energy processes occur, normally by the oxidation of glucose with the products being ATP, CO2 and water. The process proceeds through a glycolysis phase which produces a small amount of ATP and lactic acid. The lactic acid would then be oxidised further with a much larger production of ATP, CO2 and water. Warburg found that the second phase did not occur in cancer cells, leading to the rise in concentration of lactic acid (and therefore lowering of pH), and found that mitochondria was impaired in some way. I think he believed that a lack of oxygen caused mitochondrial damage, but others disagree, the fact remains, however, that where there is lactic acid build there is anaerobic energy production, whether this is in the presence of oxygen or not. What causes a cell to become cancerous in the first place is the mutation of dna (be it cellular or mitochondrial) or some impairment of cellular process, notably the expression or manufacture of proteins and enzymes, from nucleotide building blocks. A normal pH ensures the breakdown glucose into the A, C, G and T nucleotide radicals that promote healthy DNA synthesis, and severely limits the ability of mutagens to cross the cellular membrane where they might cause some mutation. If the extracellular plasma is more acidic than optimum the intracellular fluid must also drop below normal (pH6.6) to maintain the appropriate potential across the cellular membrane, not only does this allow the passage of mutagens, but also impairs proper nucleotide production. These events may cause cells to mis-function and develop cancer. When the pH of a cancerous cell lowers sufficiently, the pores on the cellular membrane do not work correctly (they are driven by potential difference between the inside and the outside of the cell, which is related to pH). This restricts the passage of oxygen but not of glucose. So one can see a number of events which can lead to the ceasing of oxidative respiration, leaving only glycolysis (fermentation) as the source of energy for cancer cells. The formation of cancerous tissue is not a function of available oxygen per se, that is just a corollary of the process. So does anaerobic respiration cause cancer..., no, anaerobic respiration is a result of the physiological conditions that cancers cause, ie, mitochondrial damage and disfucntional membrane pores by way of low pH. one is literally surrounded by some disease. Not just because some disease
is known to exist in the area and may occasionally strike.

Grant, The kidneys are part of the pH regulation system and will extract hydrogen ions from the blood plasma in order to lower the plasma pH, thus raising the pH of the urine accordingly. The saliva mirrors blood pH, and while affected by food and may give false readings, it is pretty accurate if one tests the saliva 3 hrs after putting anything in the mouth, and draws two or three fresh lots into the mouth and swallows it before testing. 11AM is a good time for doing this according to Robert Barefoot, who also suggests repeating the measurement on successive days and averaging the result. Bobbye, this may sound ridiculous but it won't cost you anything to try it and no one need know about it. If you will put cs in the ear canal and lie down for 15 minutes with it in the ear canal and do this for each ear---then you will get great relief for the tooth abcess. You may get total relief. OK here's the lowdown: Although tissues are bathed in oxygenated blood, it's the process of absorbing the oxygen through the cell wall that is impaired in a cancer situation. Oxygen does not diffuse in, it must be carried, so of course the petri dish argument of it being exposed to room oxygen is out too. If the cell membrane voltage drops too low, there's not enough voltage difference between the outside and inside of the cell to facilitate easy exchange of the oxygen and other nutrients with the waste inside the cell. As Otto Warburg pointed out, ANYTHING that interferes with cell respiration i.e. anything that encumbers the respiration by dropping membrane voltage, will result in a lack of oxygenation. This anything can be toxins within or without the cell, and also can be body pH, which if low, results in systemic oxygen shortages. As an aside, membrane voltage can be at least temporarily restored through some of the electronic and magnetic frequency devices, and in practice this has been proven out (Priore, Rife), allowing the cell to respire normally again, chuck the toxins, and absorb oxygen. I know about the infection connection, but that does not explain the success obtained by either zapping, or the Beck blood electrification, neither of which kill systemic bacteria. The blood electrifier's effectiveness on bugs is within the bloodstream only, and the zapper's power is much too low to produce voltages needed to kill things in the body. However it starts, lowered cellular oxygen disables the natural DNA repair mechanism that every cell contains. Without this natural DNA repair mechanism, all aerobic life would have cancer and the species would not survive. The lowering of oxygen to 40% of optimal will not kill the cell outright because the cell has the ability to survive by fermenting sugar anaerobically rather than burning both sugar and fat aerobically. If the DNA breaks, from free radicals produced, you have cancer. Raise the intracellular oxygen levels somehow, and the DNA repair functions again and the cancer starts to shrink as cells are normalized. Restore cell membrane voltage potential and cell respiration is done in several ways; Hans Neiper uses cal/mag/potassium to force an effect by raising extracellular pH, which allows more oxygen to be carried through the lymph to the cells, and the alkaline mineral also favourably influences the difference between inside and outside voltage of the cell, which facilitates oxygen and wast exchange. We already practice this as a preventive. Recent studies for example prove that colon cancer statistics are dramatically reduced by adding calcium supplements to the diet. And many of us are proactively monitoring saliva pH. As an aside, The sugar connection is being used as we speak; inducing hypoglycemic shock through dietary mods, and then inulin injections, is being used to kill cancer cells outright. Another way this is being used is dietary mods and a substance that prevents the liver from producing sugar so all it can produce is oils, which normal cells can live on and cancer cells can not. It makes you wonder: Are some kinds of calcium better than others? Does it matter which kind of calcium you take? Is it possible to take too much calcium? Can calcium hurt you? Do the various kinds of calcium affect the body in different ways? According to the late Dr. Carey Reams, bio-chemist and bio-physicist, our bodies need a balanced variety of calciums. He spent over 50 years studying and researching the affects of various calciums and other minerals on the human body. He found that there are essentially three categories of calciums to be considered: Alkaline-pH calciums (calcium hydroxide, phosphate and carbonate), Acid-pH calciums (calcium lactate and sulphate) and neutral-pH calciums (calcium citrate, aspartate, gluconate, etc.). pH, as used here, refers to the acidifying or alkalinizing effect upon the body. The body needs calcium from each of these groups in order to achieve balance for good health. Frequently people have an adequate amount of one kind, but a deficiency of the other. The presence of both acidifying and alkalinizing calciums is important because the interaction between the two is how both kinds are assimilated. Without enough of one kind, there is a poor assimilation of the other. Imagine taking a cup of vinegar and a cup of baking soda. If you dump them together in a bowl, you will see a lot of energy released. But if you were to pour together a cup of baking soda and a teaspoon of vinegar, there would not be much energy released, because of the unbalanced ratio between the soda and vinegar. A deficiency of alkaline calcium, for instance, will express itself as an apparent excess of acidifying calcium, resulting in an acid pH (calcium deposits are nearly always one type of unassimilated calcium accumulating somewhere in your body because of a deficiency of the other). The alkalinity or acidity of your urine or saliva pH is not primarily a reflection of the foods you eat. It is an indication of your calciums balance. Special pH test paper (carried by many Health Food stores or available from Metabolic Solutions) determines which kind of calcium your body may be deficient in, and indicates which kind of calcium should be supplemented. This pH paper is not the same as the regular litmus pH strips normally found in a pharmacy. It is much more accurate. Also provided with this special pH paper are detailed instructions describing how to conduct these simple, easy tests. Metabolic Solutions provides this special pH testing paper (if you cannot find it at a HF store) which enables you to test yourself and determine exactly which calciums you need. Thank You Marshalee!! (By the way, everytime I find something useful to save, you have usually written it,- for us laypersons. LOL.. I actually made CS today using Marshalee's plans, but substituting an old cordless phone AC adapter. The adapters' output says 9v, (100mA - whatever that means). I didn't see anything happening in the water, only after 1 1/2 hours I noticed one wire had turned black, and the other had not. Should I switch these wires occasionally?? I figured if a person uses 3- 9volts, then if this is comparable to one, I should leave it on 3x as long. Am I correct? I have been using the 100 ppm stuff I told you about. I swear I could still taste the CS in the water, but about 1/2 the ppm. Is there a way to test ppm for the generic layperson in english?? The water was cloudy but clear by the way. CSeffect of cold on CS
Hi, Listers, As usual, thanking you all in advance ( because I always forget to e-mail you off list to thank you); my question this time is: does cold temperature reduce the effectiveness of CS? The reason I ask is because one of my friends puts ice cubes in his CS. Does this reduce the effectiveness of CS? Another question: I put CS in my vegetable juice (freshly squeezed, but then frozen, and when ready to drink, thawed, and refrigerated. So, in effect, CS put into cold vegetable juice. Would this reduce the effectiveness of CS? Would it be best if I and my friends just took the CS straight and on an empty stomach? Thanking you all in advance. Carl George

CSCan CS help emphysema?
Hi, Listers, I have a friend who has emphysema, which he says was caused by contact with asbestos when he was in the Army-Air Force (early part of WW II). He has to take breathing treatments, which leaves him very nervous and shaky. Does anyone out there have any information as to whether CS would help him? Especially a nebulizer, using CS. I had heard that calcium is needed in no more than a 2:1 ration to magnesium, if not 1:1--doesn't this indicate that pH balancing is indicated WRT other macro-mineral forms as well? There's a liquid calcium *orotate* supplement on my website, which has prompted dramatic testimonials among most of the people I know who have tried it (although I may have to modify certain of my inferences as to *why*!). To what extent would you attribute this to calcium deficiency as opposed to excessive alkalinity, perhaps due to the ubiquitous addition of alkaline calcium to many processed foods nowadays? I eat healthy, take many herbs/vitamins, etc. I have pockets on two teeth that even though I use the proxy brush to clean up in the pocket, I can't get the pocket to shrink back against the tooth Are you saying puting the CS in the ear canal will help these pockets? I have no pain. I just don't want to have the surgery on these two teeth where they cut the gum to get rid of the pockets so plaque won't form in them. Hi Carl, I certainly wouldn't be putting CS into any kind of juice, owing to the substantial chloride content likely. You would then be precipitating out the ionic silver portion (probably around 75-95% of the total) as ineffective AgCl. Taking CS straight and away from other foods makes more sense. Not sure about the effect of being chilled, but I avoid chilled fluids in general, except for a cold beer on a hot day. Thanks Ivan. As you say, a big question. Low cellur pH then seems to be a chief cause of cancer initiation. Does that mean that raising cellular pH will reverse the process once cancer has set in? As Terry Chamberlain has pointed out, too high a pH is associated with poor digestion, constipation etc. This creates a dilemna for anyone already experiencing those symptoms (I have on and off) who wants to guard against cancer. List, I find some useful info. and links on Quackwatch, but the flaws and biases are just grotesque. Among other outrages, you can find a listing of Omura's brilliant, patented Bi-Digital O-Ring Test as an unnatural method, and a wholesale dismissal of the German-made EAV-type diagnotstic machines and methodology. A review of one such machine is illustrative: the reviewer had no operating manual and had no idea of how the machine was supposed to be used; the reviewer mistakenly believed that a glass vial -- containing nothing -- was supposed to cause a deflection in the ohm-meter on the machine, and suggested the failure of an empty glass vial to do so indicated the falseness of the entire concept. This is just awful. An essentialpart of EAV diagnosis is based on molecular (or sub-molecular) resonance. No one has ever claimed that an empty glass vial would produce changes in an EAV or Vegatest reading. I know only a very little about this field, but I can certainly recognize grotesque bias and unfairness when I see it. Quackwatch certainly demonstrated a very wrongheaded, misleading, and inaccurate approach to EAV. Read Barret's final words in this section of the website to understand his prejudice: he says that anyone who uses such methods is either deluded or incompetent or criminal, and urges readers to report anyone who uses such devices to him and to other agencies that can carry out criminal prosecution. This anything can be toxins within or without the cell, and also can be body pH, which if low, results in systemic oxygen shortages. As an aside, membrane voltage can be at least temporarily restored through some of the electronic and magnetic frequency devices, and in practice this has been proven out (Priore, Rife), allowing the cell to respire normally again, chuck the toxins, and absorb oxygen. I know about the infection connection, but that does not explain the success obtained by either zapping, or the Beck blood electrification, neither of which kill systemic bacteria. The blood electrifier's effectiveness on bugs is within the bloodstream only, and the zapper's power is much too low to produce voltages needed to kill things in the body. However it starts, lowered cellular oxygen disables the natural DNA repair mechanism that every cell contains. Without this natural DNA repair mechanism, all aerobic life would have cancer and the species would not survive. The lowering of oxygen to 40% of optimal will not kill the cell outright because the cell has the ability to survive by fermenting sugar anaerobically rather than burning both sugar and fat aerobically. You can get a small spray bottle at your local pharmace that contains saline and water. Empty the container and fill it about 1/2 full with CS(8-10ppm). Spray it in each nostril every two hours. At the same time allow a drop to fall in each ear canal and let it remain about a minute in each ear. The cold will be gone in 24 -48 hrs, and it will never get too bad. Hi, Listers; Even though I am no scientist, I thought I would put my 2 cents in. I have never had cancer. Hope I never do. But if I ever do contract cancer, I know that the only treatment I would follow would be the Gerson therapy. It is basically a juice diet with vitamin/mineral supplements, and coffee enemas. It is the pre-cursor to the Kelley and Gonzalez therapies. For those who may not know of the Gerson therapy, Max Gerson was a German doctor, right before the advent of Adolph Hitler. When Hitler came along, Gerson migrated to the USA (New York), where he became licensed to be a doctor. He had begun his insightful mediciine in Germany, and continued it in New York. Basically, and I hope I am capsulizing this correctly, he found that he could correct the body chemistry through juicing (fresh squeezed juice only-- with a lot of greens); vitamin/mineral supplements, and coffee enemas. I think it was about a glass of juice every hour. And he could use this diet to correct not only cancer, but a lot of other diseases, because this diet would clean the body of the toxins in the body. It would normalize the body chemistry. I think it was claimed that he cured 75-80% of cancer patients that the AMA type doctors had failed to cure. Made the AMA mad. So they tried to take his license away. (Read Dr. Max Gerson: Censured for Curing Cancer, by S. J. Haught). Can't remember if they did or not. But his practice is carried on by his daughter, Charolette Gerson, down in Mexico. If you put the right nutrients into the body ( that is the food that the body is biologically adapted to -- for man, fruits and vegetables), and stop putting in the other poisons, the body will heal itself. Even of cancer --if it is not too far advanced. And the fastest way to put in fruits and vegetables into the body is thrugh juicing. Hi, Listers, I promise, this will be my last post of the day. Does anyone have a recipe for making CS ointment (or salve). I bought some ($15.50) made by Silver Wings. Ingredients were organic, cold pressed aloe vera jelly; colloidal silver, and tea tree oil. It works really well on burns, itches, etc. But it is pricey, and if I could make it, I would much rather make it than buy it. But how much CS should I put with aloe vera jelly, tea tree oil, etc. I would appreciate any information. Thanking you in advance. Carl George

Dr. Y. Omura finds that in all cancer cases there is a presence of metals such as mercury or lead, as well a viral presence. These are two of, I believe, four conditions. One as I recally concerns low acytylcholine, and the other the presence of a cancer marker. All four he says are invariably present. One can rid oneself of two by using cilantro to chelate the metals and taking DHA/EPA fish oil to destroy the viruses. Kevin: I agree with your thinking. When one central cause for something is usually found, then one central cure usually suffices; vitamic C always cures Scurvy. That is why my primary and fundamental method of treatment is based in natural medicine. Oxygen treatments don't always work, that is for certain. You move the body toward a state of improved health, while addressing identifiable and treatable conditions directly. I believe the oxygen issue is a symptom of a cause, not a cause. I believe the PH issue can be both a symtpom and a cause. I believe the DNA issue can be a symptom and a cause. Solvents and other chemicals in the body can be a cause. Radiation can be a cause. Deficiencies can be a cause. Electromagnetic pollution can be a cause. In all of my experience with cancers, the one central theme I have noticed is that all cancer has been demonstrated ( to me ) to be an immune system deficiency. I've heard it said that cancer can be an immune system over-response, but this is not my experience. Dr. Robert O. Beck's research makes the most sense to me, as his observations fit soundly with all the symptoms and causes of cancer that I am aware of. The central problem is cell differentiation, the causes are multitudinous. If it is a DNA problem, then the cancer will have to be destroyed, or the DNA repair mechanisms corrected. If the DNA is shortened, how are any of these so-called cancer cures going to affect an absolute change, without eliminating the cells? The answer is that they aren't. The individual is going to die, despite internet websites touting six hundred thousand cancer cures. There are very few researchers capable of direct DNA repair. What about modified DNA? Oxygen therapy isn't going to correct this, neither is a proper PH balance. The cancer is going to create the conditions that promotes its own survival, and it is VERY capable of doing so, as it is a primitive cell structure. The body is not going to recognize the cancer as an invasive agent. The dead person won't be able to tell the world of all the failed alt cancer cures tried, and the families are usually to embarrased to speak out. The ongoing DNA repair work, on many levels, shows extreme promise. The methods are through scalar wave technology and other multi-dimensional energy approaches. I'm involved in some aspects of this type of research, which is still years away from true practical application. Sonic waveforms show great promise. The problem is that the technology that can accurately measure subtle forms of energy is just now becoming readily available. The technology allowing complete measurement of DNA sequencing has also been slow to surface. The problem here is that weapons applications has kept much of this technology non-commercial. Since it costs hundreds of thousands of dollars just to obtain the basic equipment needed, independent research has been very slow due to a complete lack of funding outside of defense applications. Those involved in such research applications ( myself included ) cannot share too much along these lines, because the hundreds of thousands of dollars in measurement equipment rapidly translates to millions of dollars in applications equipment... If the primary interests are not protected, then there would be no research at all. True, repeatable medical applications are still quite a ways off, at any rate. But it really is something to keep an eye out for in the future. If the cancer cause is through something like heavy metal poisoning, the body must be stimulated to be able to cleanse itself. That is the ACTION that needs to be taken, and I'm sure that many of the suggested treatments accomplish this. If one has severe organ deficiencies, without correcting this, the therapies will also be largely innefective. Some may be dangerous. Chelating the metals out can sometimes cause more damage, as they can simply dump the heavy metals back into the active metabolism. Liver and kidney function must be supported at all costs. If the cause of the cancer is some sort of electromagnetic pollution, this really needs to be identified. Watch out for the Pentium II and perhaps some III intel chipsets. I recently had to work with one for almost a year; they are absolutely terrible. It may be only a coincidence, but my own skin cancer was on the side and exactly parallel to the mainboard. Having now gotten away from that computer, I will now no longer work at a a facility that uses them ( I build my own systems and am a strong AMD supporter, although there is no problem with with the newer Intel chipsets/processors ). I believe that the human biological electrical/electromagnetic system, if the body is strong and healthy, can compensate for many types of electromagnetic pollution. The problem comes in when there are deficiencies involved. One's best bet, as far as I'm concerned with cancer, is to ignore the U.S. multi-million dollar Alt-med cancer cure

I have tried to contact them on various occassions regarding some of their methods, and suggested improvements to their therapies, and have been completely ignored. The reason I got involved was because I was approached by a patient of the Gerson Institute for help... If they would have come sooner, their life might have been saved. Again, here is another case of so called thousands of cancer cures where the dead patients don't live to complain. If all of their treatments are as thought out as their liver cancer treatment, I wouldn't send anyone there. One of the things they are doing is completely misusing clay therapy, to the detriment of every patient they are working on. If their knowledge on other topics is equal, I dare say they are negligent at best. Again: You can put all the right nutrients in the body, and not even slow the spread of cancer. When Hitler came along, Gerson migrated to the USA (New York), where he became licensed to be a doctor. He had begun his insightful mediciine in Germany, and continued it in New York. Basically, and I hope I am capsulizing this correctly, he found that he could correct the body chemistry through juicing (fresh squeezed juice only-- with a lot of greens); vitamin/mineral supplements, and coffee enemas. I think it was about a glass of juice every hour. And he could use this diet to correct not only cancer, but a lot of other diseases, because this diet would clean the body of the toxins in the body. It would normalize the body chemistry. I think it was claimed that he cured 75-80% of cancer patients that the AMA type doctors had failed to cure. Made the AMA mad. So they tried to take his license away. (Read Dr. Max Gerson: Censured for Curing Cancer, by S. J. Haught). Can't remember if they did or not. But his practice is carried on by his daughter, Charolette Gerson, down in Mexico. For anyone who is interested, her website is http://www.gerson.org/ Anyway, what I am leading up to is that in my opinon, the only thing that can heal the body is the body itself. If you put the right nutrients into the body ( that is the food that the body is biologically adapted to -- for man, fruits and vegetables), and stop putting in the other poisons, the body will heal itself. Even of cancer --if it is not too far advanced. And the fastest way to put in fruits and vegetables into the body is thrugh juicing. Am I saying that if I ever got cancer, that I would not undergo chemotherapy or other medical procedures. You bet I am. For what it's worth. Carl George
