Hi, Steve Barwick here, for www.TheSilverEdge.comhttp://www.thesilveredge.com/
...

Colloidal silver has now officially been banned -- yes, *banned* --
throughout the European Union!

As of January 1, 2010 it can no longer be legally sold in any health food
store in the EU as a nutritional supplement.

A few short days from now I’ll publish the details of the ban on the
Colloidal Silver Secrets blog at
www.ColloidalSilverSecrets.blogspot.comhttp://www.colloidalsilversecrets.blogspot.com/
. I’ll be posting an exclusive report which will include important new
information from one of Europe’s leading health freedom groups.

I’ll also explain how the ban was passed while the European public slept
right through it, completely oblivious to what was happening right before
their eyes -- and why the same thing now threatens to happen here in the
U.S.

In the meantime, be sure to go to the Colloidal Secrets blog, at the link
directly above, and read my preliminary posting (dated Jan 12, 2010) on this
unprecedented ban – the world’s *first* major multi-national ban on the sale
of colloidal silver.

Be sure to read the post in its entirety, so you’ll have the necessary
background information for my upcoming full-length report on the new
European ban on colloidal silver, and how it will ultimately affect the
health freedom rights of all Americans, and all colloidal silver users like
you throughout the United States, Canada and the rest of the world!

Regards,

Steve Barwick

Re: CSWhere to buy CMO

2010-01-13 Thread Bernadette
Steve:

In response to your inquiry - I have been taking (under Mr. Bradley's guidance)
EIS, CMO, Del Immune V, MSM, Encapsulated Vit. C, and ConcenTrace minerals, and
the results are extraordinary, for me.

I had been sick for a period of many years, getting every cold, flu and virus
and bacterial infection passed on to me by grandchildren, etc. As a matter of
a time line I was sick constantly in 2007, 2008. Since beginning the above
daily intake of supplements, I am healthy. I have not had a cold, the flu or
any infections.

When I begin to feel something coming on, and you can feel this, I double up on
my Del Immune V. This alone has been a God send. I don't think I would be this
healthy if it were not for this immune system support. I purchase this from
Simply the Best.

Since I started CMO my hands and joints are improved 110%. Before the shooting
pain was constant. Today I can use the hands, almost pain free. Of course, I
get twinges of an uncomfortable feeling, but nothing like before. If I was a
good girl and took it every day like I am supposed to do, I know the pain would
be nonexistent. I purchase this from Beyond A Century.

I take MSM everyday. It supports, in my humble opinion, the CMO, the
Del-Immune V. I also purchase this from Beyond a Century.

After all is said and done, I will Never Never Never be without the Del-Immune
V again. This alone has been my saving grace.

I cannot every thank Brooks for his kind words and guidance. I don't remember
when we first began to talk or why, but he has helped me more than any other
person and I am eternally grateful. Listen to him, he does know what he is
talking about and only has goodness and caring in his heart for all mankind.

Thanks to all.

  List (especially Brooks),

Not finding a source of Cetyl Myristoleate (CMO) locally, I searched the
Internet. As you can imagine, there are many sources, each making wonderful
claims about their products, and some bad-mouthing their competitors, etc. So
I need recommendations from you who have used CMO with good results. What
brands and sources do you recommend? What are your recommendations regarding
products that compound CMO with digestive enzymes, Glucosamine, Hyaluronic
Acid, etc. To keep this on topic, have you users of CMO had any adverse
effects from also taking EIS (CS)? Responses either on or off list will be
appreciated.

  Thank you,

CSDisruption cancer cell replication by electric fields

2010-01-13 Thread Dan Nave
http://www.mydigitalfc.com/news/disruption-cancer-cell-replication-electric-fields-343

Disruption cancer cell replication by electric fields
By Purnendu Ghosh Dec 21 2009

The issues related to the likely impact of the exposure of
electromagnetic fields (EMF) on our health, particularly risks of
cancer have been addressed by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Fortunately, EMF exposures at home or work are not linked to cancer.
The good news is that electric fields combined with chemotherapy can
help prevention of tumours.

The alternating electric fields of very low frequencies (less than 1
kHz) have shown to stimulate excitable tissues such as nerve, muscle
and heart. Low frequency electric fields also claim to stimulate bone
growth and accelerate fracture healing. At very high frequencies
tissue heating becomes dominant, thus serving the basis for some
commonly used medical treatments such as diathermy and radio frequency
tumour ablation.

Intermediate-frequency electric fields do not cause muscle stimulation
nor generate heat. The low-intensity (2 V/cm), intermediate frequency
(100–300 kHz) EMF, however, has shown to inhibit growth of a variety
of human and rodent cell lines and malignant tumours in animals.

The research conducted at the Israel (Novocure, Israel Institute of
Technology, Weizmann Institute of Science and Elisha Medical Centre)
indicate disruption of cancer cell replication by alternating electric
fields. The effect is found to be selective, affecting only dividing
cell lines and sparing the quiescent ones. The electric field arrests
cell proliferation as well as destruction of cells while undergoing
division. Just before a dividing cell splits in two, it briefly forms
an hourglass shape before the two daughter cells pinch off, and this
shape is particularly vulnerable to electricity. The current gets
concentrated at the cell’s narrow waist, and at the very moment of
division, the cell membrane is destroyed, and the cells disintegrate.
The mechanism of action of the fields, researchers say, depends on
disruption of the microtubules of the mitotic spindle and the electric
forces resulting from focusing of the field in the dividing cells. The
spindle is composed of cell components known as microtubules. The
microtubules contain components that have high electric dipole moment,
in which there is a large separation of opposite electric charges.
Therefore, parts of the mitotic spindle are greatly influenced and
apparently get disrupted by an electric field.

The cancer fighting abilities of this technique are being evaluated on
human patients with recurrent glioblastoma multiforme (GBM); a fast
growing, and difficult to treat form of brain cancer. This new
technique exploits the difference between normal cells and cancer
cells; it acts only on physically splitting cancer cells. The
researchers are optimistic as they observed slower than usual
progress in the development of brain tumour; in some cases even cell
regression was observed. It is believed that this technique will work
on all type of cancers and can possibly be applied to many different
disease types. When the technique is applied in association with
chemotherapy, its effect has been found more promising; the electric
fields appear to make the cancer cells far more susceptible to
chemotherapy without any additional increase in side effects and
toxicity.

Re: CSwattage

2010-01-13 Thread Ode Coyote

The Silvergen has a transformer and rectifier circuit built in like a
wall wart in the box, vs on the wall.
The internal circuitry runs on low voltage DC current..probably around 24
volts DC.
If you pull the box apart and check the power supply output with a volt
meter, install a bypass tap, then you can run it off batteries etc.
[Careful there, 120 volts is a yelping body wiggler.]

The amount of current it will draw varies with the conductivity of the
water, but will only draw [probably] 1 milliamp max through the water,
plus whatever it takes to run the circuitryincluding the transformer
and rectifier etc when hooked up to AC power.
I believe it uses a less energy efficient electromechanical relay vs solid
state switching, but that's not a huge problem.

There is no set answer to how much power it uses over how much time it
takes, when water is such a HUGE variable...but it will use a set *maximum*
over however long it takes.

Water variation makes timers completely useless.

2 watts [max] is a valid answer.
If you bypass the wart, it will be less.

Or you can get a generator that uses a wall wart...and substitute
batteries with no modifications needed.

Hi, thanks andI have more questions.;-)

Simple stuff that I can't quite fathom out from the site and I'm on the
edge of buying the silver gen v all others, but can't without this basic
information.

How much colloidal silver can the silvergen produce automatically and how
much time that takes?

Is the 2 watts the amount of electrical energy the silver gen consumes
to produce this 'automatic amount'.

i.e. if the silver gen can be set up and left to produce - what's the max
amount it can produce before it has to be set up again. is it a quart,a
gallon or what?

how long does it take to produce that maximum amount?

Our Rv has a DC system. Can I plug the silver gen into that and do I need
a converter if we're using that system?

If we don't need a converter, would I be able to use the system on a
regular energy grid without a converter? Not sure how all this works as
you can see so am repeating myself to hopefully make my info needs clear.

I appreciate your patience. I am downsizing considerably to living in an
Rv, with perhaps a 100 watt solar panel as our source of energy, wired
into the RV DC systems so that we can use laptop, silver generator etc.

CSCS and sense of smell- losing it

2010-01-13 Thread Beth Harrison
Several of my family have been battling bronchitis for the last week or so.
My husband put some CS in a teaspoon, and inhaled it.
He did this maybe 4 times over the last few days, and now says he cannot
smell anything-- even the chlorine type smell of MMS,
or fragrance oils straight from the bottle. (I am a soapmaker, so have lots
of that around.)

He had recently read that the use of ZICAM, a zinc-based OTC product that
you used by swabbing in the nasal passages, caused

loss of sense of smell.

Will sniffing CS into the nasal passages do the same thing?

Dr. Robert Steigerwalt, one of the lead researchers of the study,
confirmed that not only does pine bark extract halt the progression of
diabetic retinopathy, it can cause it to regress by sealing the leaky
blood vessels in the eye that lead to the disease. Such results were
witnessed in as little as two months. He also noted that diabetics in
the early stages of the disease can prevent such complications from ever
occurring by supplementing with pine bark extract.

CSstorage question

I am new to silver making. I bought a machine from Utopia. The lady there
told me I could store my silver in a plastic bottle. But I have read here that
it needs to be stored in glass. Would it be OK to store in plastic just long
enough to collect a half gallon to use to soak my horse's feet? Should I throw
away the half gallon I have stored in plastic for the last month?

He informed me that Micro-encapsulation utilizing liposome-generation techniques, is being successfully employed by the cosmetics industry. Most especially for enhancing the appearance (and apparently the health) of the hair.
He relates success in delaying/correcting early-onset color loss among a rather wide age spectrum. He advises that this recent development is not...as yet...very widespread.
The intriguing element, to me, was that this system seems to employ liposomal technology (although they do not inform the customer of their "technology").
There is one company, Kronos, by name.which provides a complete spectrum of products...although effectivedo not appear to be cheap.
My feeling in the matter is that interested (especially the vain ones) list members might consider making their own products utilizing their ultrasonic cleaners. The methodology would be the very same procedure used to generate their liposomal vitamin C. Some, minor, experimentation might be required to "fine tune" their end product.but quite useful results should be easily achieved.
One word of caution might be in orderthe use of blenders (even the high-speed/power units like Vitamix) might not yield particle mass SMALL enough to pass through the hair follicles. Ultrasonically produced material should do quite wellas would high-pressure X diffraction grate formed liposomes. We have not submitted the "blender-generated" materials to the lab for EXTENSIVE size-measurement, but we didearly on---determine that although highly-confined X high velocity liposomal vitamin C produced via Vitamix-quality blenders yielded excellent homogenization and stability. RE: CSComment of Possible Interest

2010-01-13 Thread Brooks Bradley
Dear Steve,
I do not think there would be any, significant, reduction in the acceptable speed of absorption.of the blender-generated liposomes
as against the smaller ones from the U>S> cleaner devices (in the digestive system)..especially in view of the fact that the alimentary tract can absorb a very wide variety of particle sizes. It is true, however, that smaller size particles will pass in greater volume---for a given time, than
will larger particles. Unless encountering "much" larger particles than almost any of the liposomal products generated (including those produced naturally
during normal digestive processes) through use of mechanical and/or chemical means.the experimenter should have little reason toward concerns for
either speed or completeness of absorption across the alimentary system epithelial tissues. However, do understand, there is an enormous difference in size accommodation ability between that of the alimentary system...and that of a human hair follicle.
 Best Regards, Brooks.

Circa about 12 months ago, I posted some information relative to research
(some of it peculiar to our staff)relating to the value of using a simple
humming technique for aiding/relieving some cases of persistent sinus
blockage involving mucous accumulations. Several months later we evaluated
several deep-breathing protocols for aiding in poor oxygen intake (the most
effective one being the technique Wayne Fugitt posted at his website). There is
yet, another protocol we have recently stumbled upon, which promises
quite effective aid in addressing many of the more challenging/chronic
pulmonary insults. The protocol involves a very simple mechanical device
invented by an acoustics engineer named Sandy Hawkins. The device is nothing
more than type of vibrating reed fabricated from a plastic tube and a reed-thin
strip which vibrates the chestdislodging mucous accumulations/impacted
debris located in the lungs. Rapid, favorable, results
have been reported by a research group with whom we exchange information on a
regular basis.
For those interested in reviewing an article on Mr. Hawkins efforts---and
results---one may
obtain a copy of the December 2009 issue of Popular Science Magazine.

True. It has been banned in the way you mention since 1 January, 2010. But
the health food stores here in Sweden sell it as water disinfectant instead
of as a supplement. That means that the VAT rate is higher. It also means
that hey can advertise that it kills microbes. :) Personally, I make my own
with one of Ode's devices and have a spare one in case something happens to
that one.

Simeon: I'll get back to you.

Sunny:

There are companies out there in the market place that sell good vitamins,
minerals and organic whole food source supplements at a decent price. When
possible I store up when there are 2 for the price of 1 sales. There are
certain supplements I've been taking for 35 or more years and will never
give up. As you say, wellness is paramount and the prevention of disease is
also paramount.
I also grow an organic garden every summer and can and freeze for winter
usage. Grow as much fruit as you can, too. It's difficult to grow pine
tree bark, though (ha...) and ubiquinol...
There are some supplements you cannot grow because of the source (i.e.,
vitamin E with mixed tocoph and toc., etc.,) and some you cannot grow
depending somewhat on your weather and growing season.
One reason I have my own CSW makers is because the cost at health food
stores is absurd - and usually we can make a better (and stronger) CSW than
they sell at health food stores for extremely less money.
Once a month I sit and fill cleaned plastic 35 mm film containers with all
of my vitamin and mineral supplements for the month so if I leave to
substitute teach or work somewhere, I can tote them with me easily. I
always bring my own lunch, my own water and my own organic coffee -because I
don't trust restaurants and I will not drink chlorinated water. I also carry
CSW in an amber bottle with me - and CSW in a nose spray. I use a portable
ozonator to ozonate my drinking water (sometimes), but I always use a
vitalizer to add a lot more oxygen to the water. i know the vitalizer works
well, because when the Red Cross takes a pint of my blood every 56 days they
tell me my blood is highly oxygenated. Why is that important? Because
disease, cancer, viruses and other harmful bacteria cannot live in a highly
oxygenated environment.
If we don't have our heath - we have nothing...

John I admire your attention to health. And I'm wondering two thing.. how
much must it cost to take all these supplements and if we dont have those
kind of funds, where can we obtain this naturally. Could it be by growing a
 forest garden?
I'm serious here... when I had money I'd buy all this stuff.. and start a
regime.. but to be naturally healthy these days it appears one has to also
have a lot of 'money-energy'. No griping here, I chose a life of simplicity
to divest myself.. but wellness is paramount.
Can anyone share how we can get these nutrients more naturally.. for
example, berries from a bush and food that is readily available locally?
 That would be a challenge...
and thanks to you all for your astounding knowledge sharing..

My basic stance in life that if someone makes an unsubstantiated claim, I can

There are some very fervent and sincere people on the internet pushing the

When someone says they drank colloidal silver and got blue moons, I don't

use (not approved for humans but widely practiced by experimenters.)
I learned not long ago from the local distributor that she reversed
graying hair by regular application of diluted EM1 to hear scalp after

check.

If these microorganisms do in fact have this effect, it would raise
extremely interesting questions about the mechanism.I'll keep an

There are no miracles with any substance, alas; some years ago Dr.
Higa was hoping to re-grow hair on his own head, at that time with no

2010-01-13 Thread Norton, Steve
Just a few minor points if I may. An opinion from a different perspective.

Dispute is a pugilistic term signifying an argument. I don't know if it is
intended that way. I think that an unsubstantiated claim is an opinion and an
unsubstantiated counter claim is also an opinion. And yes you should feel free
to express your opinion but it need not become a dispute.

Relative to silver poisoning, there is a medically documented instance of
silver poisoning. As I recall, the person accidentally drank a large amount of
silver nitrate and died quite rapidly. Silver can also, in some instances cause
a selenium deficiency that over the long term can lead to liver failure and
death. It probably has never happened because the person would turn blue first
and get medical help in time.

If someone says they drank silver and got blue moons I believe that almost 100
percent of the time they are correct. What part of their statement do think
they got incorrect? That they did not drink silver or that they do not have
blue moons?

It is fine if you choose to place no value on anecdotal information but your
choice to not believe it does not make it not true.

Regards,
Steve N

About 10 days ago, I felt a cold coming on; so before I went to

imaginable. It literally felt like I had sprayed pepper spray
directly into my brain. It burned all the way to the top of my
skull. My nasal passages swelled, my eyes watered - the burning
lasted all night long into the next day. After about a day, I
   realized I couldn't taste anything and I thought, Wow - I must
really have a bad cold. Then I noticed that I couldn't smell
coffee brewing, couldn't smell my perfume when I put it on,
couldn't smell the popcorn I burned, couldn't smell my favorite
candle. I panicked and starting smelling everything that I could
find that had really strong odors - ammonia, finger nail polish
remover, bleach, etc. I couldn't smell ANYTHING! I started tasting
everything that had really strong tastes such as HOT salsa, raw
red onions, Doritos, coffee. I couldn't taste ANYTHING! I told my
mother about this and she said, Oh, I've heard Zicam can affect
your Olfactory nerve. I went online, typed in Zicam side
effects and bam - up popped all sorts of web sites with people
reporting the same thing I experienced. It seems that this past
June, Zicam pulled the swabs for adults and children off the
shelf but not the nasal gel. I went to my ENT and he said the
Zicam had basically FRIED my Olfactory nerve and the results are
most likely permanent. He put me on a strong dose of a steroid
called Prednisone in hopes of recovering ANY bit of the nerve
damage but he told me to take this and pray. He said he had read
about the side effects of Zicam and couldn't believe it is still
on the shelf. It isn't FDA approved. I am taking the Prednisone
and praying but nothing is happening. I LITERALLY CANNOT SMELL OR
TASTE ANYTHING! I can tell if foods are hot or cold, I can tell
the consistency and I can faintly detect if it is salty but that
is it. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE pass this on to everyone you care
about. I don't want this to happen to ANYONE else!! And if
you have Zicam in your medicine cabinet--THROW IT AWAY! Susan

There are a multitude of machines of varying configurations used in producing

Brooks has reported some years ago that mixing Gatorade with colloidal

by myself had attributed this to the fact that the additional chloride ions

electrolyte content are more quickly absorbed into the blood stream. Both
of these theories are elaborated at
 http://silver-lightning.com/theory.html#Gator

Doing some further analysis of the ingredients in gatorade I have
discovered another mechanism, one which is likely the primary one for this
increased absorption. I just became aware that the citrate ion ( gateraid
contains citric acid ) will replace the chloride ion in metallic salts.
This means that when you mix CS with gaterade the silver ions do not
combine with the chloride ions, but the citrate ions in the citric acid.
Thus when you drink it, no low solubility silver chloride ions are formed,
and they do not form in the stomach either.
The silver citrate then is free to quickly move into the blood stream.

Progesterone Cream Can Help Prostate Cancer

Posted by: Dr. Mercola
January 02 2008 | 13,439 views

Dr. Mercola's Comment:

I still strongly endorse progesterone, however I think the cream
version has potential complications particularly by the way it
accumulates and contributes to disruptions in the adrenal hormones
such as DHEA, cortisol, and testosterone. I have learned that although
progesterone cream is an enormously useful tool, it needs to be used
very cautiously. So, if one is going to use the cream they absolutely
need to be monitored with a saliva test on an annual basis. The saliva
value should be below 300. I have seen numbers over 10,000 and it may
take up to two years for this level to normalize as the progesterone
is stored in the fat and comes out very slowly. One should not resume
progesterone (in any form) until the level drops below 300 again.

Highlights from my time with Dr. John Lee

Well I had the great privilege of dining with Dr. Lee on Friday and
lecturing with him on Saturday. I was expecting to learn some exciting
new information and I was not disappointed. There are two major
highlights to review. I am even more convinced now of the value of
natural progesterone for women and even for men as I will discuss
later.

The most exciting information though has to do with progesterone's
ability to PREVENT and REVERSE many cancers. The newer studies show
that estrogen, specifically estradiol, does not increase the risk for
breast cancer but it actually CAUSES breast cancer AND prostate
cancer. There is not any debate left about this issue. All major
researchers have found this The information on the prostate is new.

Let me attempt to explain the relationship for prostate cancer in more
detail. Men also make estrogen and estradiol, but in much lower
amounts than women. The male hormone, testosterone, is antagonist to
estradiol. Testosterone prevents estradiol from causing prostate
cancer by destroying the prostate cancer cells it stimulates.

Testosterone does NOT cause prostate cancer. If this were true 19 and
20 year old males would be developing prostate cancer as these are the
individuals with the highest levels. This is obviously not the case.
Males also produce progesterone, although about half as much as
females do. The progesterone prevents the body from converting
testosterone to di-hydro testosterone.

It does this by inhibiting the enzyme 5-alpha reductase. Progesterone
inhibits 5 alpha reductase far more effectively than Proscar and Saw
Palmetto which are the more standard agents employed in traditonal and
natural medicine.

As a male ages, his progesterone level decreases just like it does in
women. In women this decease occurs about the age of 35 and men about
ten years later. When progesterone levels decrease, the male's 5 alpha
reductase converts the testosterone to di-hydro testosterone which is
useless at removing the prostate cancer cells that estradiol
stimulates. Estradiol also stimulates the enlargement of the prostate.
This allows the prostate gland to swell and enlarge and in many cases
transform into prostate cancer.

The prostate is embryologically similar to the female uterus. Prostate
cancer is the NUMBER ONE cancer in men. Prostate enlargement is a
major cause of problems in elderly men. It appears we now have a
simple, safe inexpensive solution to prevent and treat this problem.

Dr. Lee's has a large number of anecdotal stories of complete
reversals of metastatic prostatic cancers. The clinical research has
just begun. Dr. Lee states that there are several studies that will be
published in the peer reviewed literature very shortly confirming this
observation in animal studies.

There is no need to wait for these studies as there is strong
biochemical evidence to support this recommendation. The January 28
JAMA had an article To die or not to die? most cells in the body die
through a more subtle, noninflammatory, energy-dependent form of cell
death called apoptosis.

Recent research into the molecular mechanisms of apoptosis has
revealed that apoptosis is a genetically programmed process that can
become deranged when the components of the cellular apoptotic
machinery are mutated or present in inappropriate quantities.
Dysregulation of apoptosis is associated with the cause of a wide
array of diseases: cancer, neurodegeneration, autoimmunity, heart
disease, and other disorders.

All cells, with the exception of brain and muscle cells, multiply
continuously. The genes which regulates this cell growth are p53 and
bcl2 . If the gene bcl2 dominates it will push cells to cancer. If
gene p53 dominates the opposite will occur and the cell growth is
controlled and the cancer do not occur.

The article clearly shows that traditional chemotherapy using poisons
to stop cell hyperplasia do not work as they kill normal cells easier
than cancer cells. The new idea promoted by the review is to find
agents that activate p53 and deactivate bc12 is the hope for curing

How about, 'Any info that supports this claim?' My problem is that
all kinds of people make all kinds of claims. If I believe someone just
because they are fervent and are sincere I'll go around in circles because I
hear and read things that conflict with each other.

My basic stance in life that if someone makes an unsubstantiated claim, I
can dispute it without any substantiation for my position. If someone
presents rationale, information from a study, then I must consider their
rationale or study to see if it appears to be solid before I can dispute it.

There are some very fervent and sincere people on the internet pushing the
notion that you can get 'silver poisoning.' I don't believe them. They
have yet to provide meaningful support for their position.

When someone says they drank colloidal silver and got blue moons, I don't
accept it at face value. I need to know how their 'colloidal silver' was
made or from whom it was acquired. I am open to the idea that perhaps
someone can get blue moons from colloidal silver, but I want to know exactly
how this happened so I can figure out what is going on and what I should do.

And on a final note, the credentials of the person making such claims isn't
worth that much to me. They can be mistaken or have made poor assumptions
just as easily as I can.

This sounded important enough to pass along.
This is crazyIt is true too! There is a link at the bottom of this to
the FDA website with the information.
I want my friends and loved ones to know what has happened to me in
hopes that it will never happen to you or anybody you care about.

About 10 days ago, I felt a cold coming on; so before I went to bed I
used Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Gel. It's supposed to help you get over your cold
faster. Immediately after I sprayed it into each nostril I felt the most
horrific burning sensation imaginable. It literally felt like I had sprayed
pepper spray directly into my brain. It burned all the way to the top of my
skull. My nasal passages swelled, my eyes watered - the burning lasted all
night long into the next day. After about a day, I realized I couldn't taste
anything and I thought, Wow - I must really have a bad cold. Then I noticed
that I couldn't smell coffee brewing, couldn't smell my perfume when I put it
on, couldn't smell the popcorn I burned, couldn't smell my favorite candle. I
panicked and starting smelling everything that I could find that had really
strong odors - ammonia, finger nail polish remover, bleach, etc. I couldn't
smell ANYTHING! I started tasting everything that had really strong tastes such
as HOT salsa, raw red onions, Doritos, coffee. I couldn't taste ANYTHING! I
told my mother about this and she said, Oh, I've heard Zicam can affect your
Olfactory nerve. I went online, typed in Zicam side effects and bam - up
popped all sorts of web sites with people reporting the same thing I
experienced. It seems that this past June, Zicam pulled the swabs for adults
and children off the shelf but not the nasal gel. I went to my ENT and he said
the Zicam had basically FRIED my Olfactory nerve and the results are most
likely permanent. He put me on a strong dose of a steroid called Prednisone in
hopes of recovering ANY bit of the nerve damage but he told me to take this
and pray. He said he had read about the side effects of Zicam and couldn't
believe it is still on the shelf. It isn't FDA approved. I am taking the
Prednisone and praying but nothing is happening. I LITERALLY CANNOT SMELL OR
TASTE ANYTHING! I can tell if foods are hot or cold, I can tell the
consistency and I can faintly detect if it is salty but that is it. PLEASE,
PLEASE, PLEASE pass this on to everyone you care about. I don't want this to
happen to ANYONE else!! And if you have Zicam in your medicine
cabinet--THROW IT AWAY! Susan Please share with everyone you can. Check it out
on the link below.
