Re: CSre: avoid gold

There is no listing for Gold at The Agency for Toxic Substances Disease
Registry.

There is a listing for Silver.

Steve FossExtreme photophobia. Great soreness all about the eyes and into

fiery objects. Violent pains in bones around eye. Interstitial keratitis.
Vascular cornea. Pains from without inward. Sticking pains inward. Trachoma

First of all I want to say Hello to everyone, as I have been off the list
for awhile, but I am now back, at least for as long as time permits..

Steve, I looked at the Agency for Toxic Substances site, and while silver is
listed there, it is worth noting that other substances consumed by humans as
supplements, such as selenium, boron, and others, are listed there as well,
so I would not become alarmed because silver is listed there.

I have an article here relating to Movidyn, (powdered form of colloidal
silver), which the Russians discovered killed their entire arsenal of germ
warfare bacteria, it also took out their newest designer poisons, (whatever
they may have been as the article relates to the 1950's). The article also
states the Japanese intended to conquer Australia by releasing rats infected
with bubonic plague, cholera, anthrax, typhoid and hemorrhagic fever. No
mention of Botulinum or Fancisella Tularensis bacteria though, I wonder if
they were around back then? Haven't done any searching on these yet but
wonder if these were some of the Ruskies 'newest designer poisons', or
perhaps our own even?

Can't vouch for the articles' authenticity, but I don't doubt any of it for
one moment, I only included it here as it relates to CS, allbeit in a
different form to what we manufacture.

I did this, but found that after making quite a lot of CS I thought the
colour had gone yellow, but found later that it was actually the glass jar,
which had discoloured inside. I always just rinsed it with clean distilled
water after brewing, but even so, it still discoloured. This meant that I
couldn't see if my CS was yellow or not. However, after making the last
batch and tipping it into a clear glass, I could see it was the jar which
was discoloured and not the CS. This was where my little white melamine
pads came in handy. I know that if you use tap water or detergent to wash
the jar out, it can cause problems with the CS, but I used the little pad
and it all came off beautifully with just distilled water! My CS was
perfect after that. Dee

You may have to clean your jar as well. If you want the clearest CS you
have to make sure your equipment is as clean as possible and also your

this is the one that you have control over. Yellow CS is still fine for

I learned something interesting the other day while getting my teeth
cleaned. My hygienist is very up on nutrition and actually eats right
(unlike me who doesn't practice what I preach.) I asked her if drinking
lemon juice in water would be harmful to my teeth. She said no, not if I
follow a few guidelines..

Drink the lemon juice water in a relatively short amount of time, as with
a meal. Don't sip it all through the day.

Rinse the mouth with water when finished drinking.

Do not brush teeth for 30 minutes after finishing the lemon water (or any
acidic drinks). The enamel is soft at that time and brushing will remove
more of it. It takes about 30 minutes for the enamel to return to normal
hardness.

So, do drink lemon juice in water to help make the body more alkaline.

Don't know about CS helping, but you should keep some Bromelain around
for use in these cases.

Sure, use the DMSO, but also start taking Bromelain heavily at first and
then tapering off to a maintenance dose for a while.

Start with 1.5 grams 3 times a day and then taper off to about 1.5 grams
per day. Take on a relatively empty stomach with water. Doses aren't
critical, as long as you take enough, you may have to experiment.

As for most inflammation, it works best if taken immediately, if you
wait too long you are already inflamed, but in the case of a sprained
ankle, it may not be too late to start even after a few days.

On what basis are you thinking it is toxic?

My mother was against it because she reckoned it rotted the clothes in
clothes washing, but she used detergents which we now find have health
problems. They were new then, and she would even put them in the bath. Oh
well.

However, my grandmother, up in the farm in the mountains, used washing soda
to wash the dishes, and the water was then put in the slops bucket that the
calf feed was made up with. I can't really think that it is particularly
toxic, then.

I did try to find out about it some years ago.

No, Faith.
Baking soda (US) is bicarbonate of soda, or sodium bicarbonate.

Washing soda is sodium carbonate, a step or two away from bicarb. It got
a

mention in the text on the pages whose links I posted. There was a
description on one of the sites, I think the steam engine one, saying what
the process was to make the sodium bicarbonate. The paragraph on my
previous post said: Washing soda is a mixture of mostly sodium carbonate
decahydrate with some sodium sesquicarbonate and sodium bicarbonate in it.
For a more mundane explanation, unless you understand the technical jargon
on the websites, you might need to enquire at your local shopping centre,
though I think someone said washing soda was getting hard to find.

It's a white powder, or in crystal form, that people use to soften water.

If you google washing soda IMAGES you will see some packages that may ring
a

bell with you. Or not, if you are not over 55 and female.

Yes it is faith. You put up to twenty drops into eight ounces of water
and have two or three times a day. It is supposed to prevent the
formation of cancer cells as cancer cannot live where there is oxygen,
according to the doctor featured on the blurb that I read. It is also
kills bacteria like CS. I take it mainly because it helps enormously with
constipation, and I have had the best results using this, and am almost
'normal' now. My energy levels have gone up significantly too. I think
if you have a 'normal' constitution, or are prone to diarrhoea, it is
better to start with a lot less than the recommended dose and work up;
rather like MMS, although you can't put it directly on the skin, as you

I guess the biggest problem I have is that the straight silver water kinda

Yep, I have a 7 page story about Dr. Rife but damned if I can find it on
the

internet again to give a link to it so here is the final 'chapter' of his
life. I've tried to search for...'the rife story' as this is the title I
think, unless I just gave it that title when I printed it out, sorry. At
the top of one page it has 'tribe.net', maybe this could be a starting
point.

Quote:

[And remember what a universal cure meant to hospitals and research
foundations? Doctors who tried to defend Rife lost their foundation
grants

and hospital privileges.

To finish the job, the medical journals, supported almost entirely by
drug

company revenue and controlled by the AMA, refused to publish any paper by
anyone on Rife's therapy. Therefore, an entire generation of medical
students graduated into practice without ever once hearing of Rife's

I'm really bugged with not knowing where I found the article I printed out

was done to him, his machines, and the records of his research. I've
tried

to find it again for you but can't, maybe someone else knows. I stumbled
upon it several years ago in my amateur 'google' searching after
purchasing

the three machines Bob Beck placed in the public domain, and I'm still an
amateur 'googler' sad to say. The article states he invented the first
microscope for viewing live viruses. You may like to try to find articles
on Morris Fishbein as this person was basically responsible for Rife's
demise. He was also responsible for the demise of one Harry Hoxsey who
had

a herbal cancer remedy. I wish I could be more helpful as it's a really
good read about Rife's life and how the 'establishment' destroyed him.

Yep, I have a 7 page story about Dr. Rife but damned if I can find
 it on the
internet again to give a link to it so here is the final 'chapter'
of his life. I've tried to search for...'the rife story' as this
is the title I think, unless I just gave it that title when I
printed it out, sorry. At the top of one page it has 'tribe.net',
maybe this could be a starting point.

 Quote:

[And remember what a universal cure meant to hospitals and research
foundations? Doctors who tried to defend Rife lost their
 foundation grants
 and hospital privileges.

To finish the job, the medical journals, supported almost entirely
 by drug
company revenue and controlled by the AMA, refused to publish any
paper by anyone on Rife's therapy. Therefore, an entire generation
of medical students graduated into practice without ever once
hearing of Rife's breakthroughs in medicine.

In 1971 Royal Rife died from a combination of valium and alcohol
 at the age
 of 83.] End quotes.

I'm really bugged with not knowing where I found the article I
printed out as it is an extremely fascinating and educational read,
and criminal what was done to him, his machines, and the records of
 his research. I've tried
to find it again for you but can't, maybe someone else knows. I
stumbled upon it several years ago in my amateur 'google' searching
 after purchasing
the three machines Bob Beck placed in the public domain, and I'm
still an amateur 'googler' sad to say. The article states he
invented the first microscope for viewing live viruses. You may
like to try to find articles on Morris Fishbein as this person was
basically responsible for Rife's demise. He was also responsible
for the demise of one Harry Hoxsey who had
a herbal cancer remedy. I wish I could be more helpful as it's a
really good read about Rife's life and how the 'establishment'
 destroyed him.

Hi Malcolm. I am leery of niacin for reasons other than just flushing. I
would check with my doctor before taking it. One needs a knowledgable
well-rounded doctor. FYI:

Adverse Niacin Side Effects
Some of the niacin side affects reported most especially for non-flush
products and high doses (higher than the threshold amount) of the vitamin
include gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting, nausea, flatulence,
bloating and diarrhea as well as sudden decrease in blood pressure.

Other (Rare) Side Effects of Niacin
There are isolated cases where other niacin side effects occur. These rare
side effects range from simple dryness and scaliness of the skin, excessive
pigmentation, to liver disorder, blurred vision, activation of the peptic
ulcer, and jaundice.

Hi Faith,

for that you can take a form - niacinamide, often labeled as non-flush
niacin. Works for me and regular niacin gives me intense skin prickles.
Take care, Malcolm

Whenever I see someone with a cold sore, I give them a bottle of CS and
tell them a story about all the people who no longer get cold sores. [Some
of them that used to have frequent and tough outbreaks have a very rare
minor outbreak ]

Without exception so far, every one of them has become part of that story.

There is a similar story concerning genital herpes, but that one [being

CS using the LVDC method,, and thus far have made about 3,000 gallons
of it. The LVDC stuff I make is 10, 15 or 20 ppm. All of them work
great. From my experience I find that it is difficult if not
impossible to make HVAC CS with a concentration of 10 ppm or more.
Also the HVAC method produces a higher colloid vs ionic ratio than
the LVDC, but also tends to produce a larger particle size.

I add H2O2 to much of the stuff I produce now, and I believe that if
you do that, there will end up no difference between the two methods
except for perhaps the ppm.

That's very interesting, and that's a lot of CS! I will have to build an
LVDC generator just so I can compare the results as well. Have you
experienced a dramatic benefit from using your CS? I certainly have, and
I always wonder whether people who say this is as good as that have
had a dramatic recovery from a crippling illness as I am experiencing,
or if their need was more light duty (like maybe it got them through
flu season or helped with a cold or something).
Initially got rid of a bladder infection or something that was bothering
me, but the docs could not help for over 10 years. Since starting taking
it, I don't get any colds, and very rarely get the flu, maybe 2 or 3
times in 9 years, vs yearly before, and colds almost monthly. Cured my
herpes I infection, I used to get fever blisters every month or two, have
not had an outbreak in 9 years, even if I have not taken any silver for
several months.

Re: CSMeasuring or Guessing- or calculating

2008-10-23 Thread Faith Gagne

I will start a new one tomorrow, but plan to do just one gallon at a
time for a change. My back is giving me trouble, so I'm not going to
try hoisting two gallons at this time -- have to be able to chop and
carry firewood (among other chores), so I need to be careful.

In case you were wondering why I make so much, I use it topically quite
a bit (CS compresses stop the painful cellulitis I get in my ankle and
lower leg) and also share it with three other people -- one of whom has
a problem with a recurring urinary tract infection that seems to be
vanquished by using the brew (more anecdotal evidence).
It stopped my dog's eye infection, too (I didn't put it in his eye
though, just had him drink some).
Next year I want to brew enough to use in my gardens.

Dear Indi: I am fascinated that you use CS to stop the pain of cellulitis
because I actually did not know that cellulitis hurts. Do you have any
idea why the urinary tract infection recurs? Faith G.

2008-10-23 Thread Faith Gagne
I came down with the Flu yesterday. I took an ounce of CS an hour for about
9 hours, til I went to bed, but I got up sicker than ever this morning.
I've taken about 4 ounces CS in as many hours this morning but I am not
feeling much better. Any suggestions?

I have experience with both. From bout 1999 to around 2005 I made
about 1500 gallons of HVAC CS. I used the submerged electrode

Since starting taking
it, I don't get any colds, and very rarely get the flu, maybe 2 or 3 times
in 9 years, vs yearly before, and colds almost monthly. Cured my herpes I
infection, I used to get fever blisters every month or two, have not had
an outbreak in 9 years, even if I have not taken any silver for several
months.

2008-10-23 Thread Faith Gagne

Cellulitis is *very* painful (often people confuse it with
cellulite, but it's a totally different thing). I nearly lost my leg
to it before I started CS. In my case, it is caused by the MRSA and
poor circulation.

Do you have any idea why the urinary tract infection recurs? Faith
G.

She has had this problem for years, the doctors say she has a defect in
her urethra which causes bacteria to accumulate and want to operate on
it (the roto rooter procedure, as she calls it). Before the CS, she
had to use antibiotics nearly every other month. She would rather not
have any surgery. Unfortunately, she is not very good at regulating her
diet or at using CS in small amounts regularly. She's the kind of
person who takes it only when she has symptoms she cannot ignore. Also,
she has a terrible habit of procrastinating using the bathroom. I have
given up trying to advise her about these things, as she will just see
it as nagging. But at least now she doesn't need the antibiotics
anymore.

People will do what people will do...

Cheers,

I am sorry to hear about the cellulitis. Yes, I was questioning cellulite
because I had no idea.

For years I had a click murmur which became very loud, and which was
eventually corrected by surgery at Brigham and Women's in Boston. The
surgery was a single by-pass plus an aortic valve replacement. For over a

pretty much bed-ridden for months at a time.

I guess the circulatory issues are hereditary. I thought I'd
avoid that by staying slim (my whole family has circulatory issues, and
they're all quite large), but in spite of successfully avoiding obesity
I still seem to share their other problems. In fact, I even have a
leaky heart valve and a murmur now, just like my parents and
grandparents had at my age. Seems we all get strong heads and weak
cardio-vascular systems. Makes me kind of glad I didn't reproduce.

Well, I strongly suspect that if she would just drink enough water, go
promptly to the bathroom when she should, maybe cut down on the white

be fine. But since I never could get her to try, it's impossible to
know for sure...

I can't agree with that; I have seen too much evidence that animals
suffer, and that they definitely feel pain. My grandparents raised cows,
pigs, and chickens, and I grew up riding a horse every chance I got. I
used to catch tadpoles and watch them change into frogs; I've kept fish,
crayfish, tarantulas, rabbits, birds, cats, dogs, snakes, praying
manti, rats, and more. I was a tomboy. I even kept a bat once for a few
days, though he was obviously unhappy so I let him go. I've seen plenty
to suggest that animals have the same spirit and experience things the
same way we do. I believe we are all animated by the same souls, it's
only the bodies that are different.

Hi Faith,
As a kid I always wondered about the effect of raising the blood
temperature for killing 'bugs' and when I was a little older I had that
confirmed with reading that if the blood temperature is increased, and
only by a minute amount, pathogens/bacteria/germs/bugs etc die.
'Silvermedicine.org/cayenneandsilver' has an article regarding cayenne
pepper in combination with CS, (you have probably already seen the article
but no matter), and I am going to find out more about this sometime in
the future. Their article is more about opening up the blood vessels for
circulation and clearing the lungs using a nebuliser but I am curious if
it has other applications. I've been taking about 30-40ml, (think that's
about an ounce isn't it?), of CS every morning for several years now and
although I purposely expose myself, perhaps I should say rub shoulders,
with people with colds and flu etc and walk around in the rain to try to
encourage a cold I have been unseccessful to date.bugger, but then
again I'm a smoker so no bugs could survive in my lungs anyway probably as
they would never penetrate the crud buildup, g but I am curious and am
going to look further into this cayenne pepper thing sometime.

Most of the food grade peroxide I've ever heard of is usually 35%,
though I've seen some that's like 17%, too. That's WAY TOO STRONG and
will seriously damage any skin or other tissues you put it on.

Drug-store variety 3% peroxide is what you want to use, or stronger

Have noted some discussion regarding sealed containers and CS in the past,
(sorry but I didn't follow the conversation all that closely...the light
bulb has just started to flicker), and have just realised what may be going
on with my CS.

I have a 1 litre, (don't know what that is in ounces, about 1/3 of a
gallon? ), clear bottle with a glass stopper and several other clear glass
containers which have screw tops with rubber inserts and I have noticed that
the glass bottle always has silver plating out on the glass and the CS goes
a pale golden colour while the other ones, with the screw tops, stay clear
with no plateout. The discussion a while ago regarding 'air' has just made
me see that this is what's probably going on with my CS. I haven't bothered
about it at all in the past, but did wonder why this bottle always changed
compared to the others. Like I said, I have never really concerned myself
over this and have just put it down to 'one of lifes mysteries' and only now
see that CS should be kept in an air-tight containeryes? Not
looking for an indepth analysis but this sounds like it could
right.yes?

I usually use 40ml, (think that's approx 1 ounce), as a starter when
producing a new batch and it may be this particular pale golden CS which
results in colour, (can't distinguish what colour other than clear though as
it's so faint, maybe green, I think green comes before any yellow hue), in
my 'new' batch on occasion. I rotate about 4 or 5, one litre containers and
it's a while till I get to the glass one with the glass stopper. Need to
take note the next time I use this 'coloured' batch as a seed and see what
happens with the result.

It's OK, I've just never concerned myself unduly with the 'science' of CS in
the past that's all, I usually just 'make it and take it'.

Neville.

Not to be a cynic, but I see the date on that is March 2007.

From the article:

We are not burning. This is the key word, Shrem said. When you burn you
produce dioxin. Instead, we vacuum out the oxygen to prevent combustion.

EER then purifies the gas and with it operates turbines to generate
electricity. EER produces energy - 70% of which goes back to power the
reactor with a 30% excess which can be sold.

In effect, we are combining two of the most exciting markets in the US -
the environment and clean energy, says Stern, We also reduce the carbon

Already ran those tests, about 5 years ago. Colloidal silver and honey

WEISS RESEARCH'S EMERGENCY QA - TRANSCRIPT
   by Martin D. Weiss, Ph.D.

Dear Faith,

Paulson and Bernanke's massive bailout for the banking industry is
causing so many unintended side effects it must be making their
heads spin.

Yes, banks have gotten some interest-rate relief and don't have to
pay through the nose for short-term funds like they did a few days
ago.

But to fund the bailout, the government will have to borrow
massive sums, and the mere expectation of that huge avalanche of
borrowing is already driving long-term interest rates higher.

Hey Faith,

I have used my homemade CS I had stored for 4+ years and it has worked as
well as my freshly made CS. I do this once in a while to try to see how
long the effectiveness lasts, and to rotate my stock so to speak. For what
it's worth, my old stuff worked as well as the fresh did for me and other
family members and friends. I always keep LOTS (sorry no scientific numbers
as to how much) on hand, some of it several years old, as back-up in case of
emergencies. It's very comforting to know that my 4+ year old CS works as
well as my fresh (in my experience - more years in other peoples experience)
in case I need it down the road. Hope this helps some.

In the absence of suitable laboratory testing equipment, in the home,

me in the direction of a more accurate, better or more suitable instrument
so that I may be able to assess my EICS in a more acceptable and precise
manner. I for one would certainly be most grateful in the knowledge that
there are other instruments available, other than EC meters etc, which are
available and affordable over the counter to everyone in their homes, but
I don't know what is available to me, other than the instrument I
currently use. If you know something I don't then I would be humbly
grateful if you would pass it on, but it must be affordable and available
over the counter to everyone who is involved with EICS..in their
own homes.

It's fine for those who may be scientifically minded and/or have access to
more precise instruments, but I think most EICS users are just plain
ordinary folk using equipment that is affordable and readily available.
Tell me what else I can use that fits the above criteria and I'll go out
and get one, but remember, it must fit the above criteria so that perhaps
we can all go out and get one.

friends family and animals. . I've also had times that it didn't seem to

EFT for all kinds of things in my life, however, if I had any deep long

tips and helpful information. He also sells videos as training tools, but
they are not necessary to learn to use EFT in everyday life. If you
purchase his videos, he encourages you to make as many copies as you can
and give them away. He wants the world to learn to use this amazing tool.
Many therapists and MD's are adding EFT to their practices. I've taught
my grand kids (age 6) to tap and they now use EFT as well. My Mom can now
stop a migraine within the first few minutes with EFT. She has suffered
migraines her entire life until two years ago after learning EFT. She was
hugely skeptical when she learned to tap, yet it's the only thing in 70
years that has finally helped her.
Did you know that other countries are training people in their militaries
to use EFT? I'm not sure if the US has started yet or not, but suspect
they won't be far behind, as it has helped so many war Vets already.
I could go on and on, but will close here with just this . I feel very

Faith..you are so welcome. Something I have figured out while gleaning
information and techniques from Gary Craig's site is that there are 2
types of groups using it. One the average person wanting to learn EFT for
their own personal use and then there are the professionals such as
therapists of all types.I found that if I keep that in mind, I can
make better use of the site. Early on I thought I needed to read every
post and understand each approach, but now I know some of it I don't need
to get that deep into in order to use EFT in day to day in my life. They
say try it on everything and I certainly do. A few examples of great
results I've had are: completely stopping the bleeding and pain
immediately after cutting my thumb badly with a kitchen knife, ridding my
feet of 18 months of plantar fasciitis, getting rid of headaches,
backaches, insomnia, fear of public speaking, anger at a co worker,
anxiety at the dentist's office, pain from an improperly set crown on a
molar, addiction to chocolate, and complete reduction of swelling in a
freshly broken toe (within minutes!)
Not every attempt has produced the results I had hoped for, but sometimes,
it takes more persistence.
Since you are working on the electrical system traveling through your
body, it does help to be well hydrated and when possible do tapping away
from electronics such as computers.
Once you have the first positive result...the excitement will carry you
further into learning and using EFT more.

My best,
Lin

Hi Everyone.

I'm back again, at least for awhile. I hope all is well with everyone.

I want to mention that a group called the Center for Food Safety is
petitioning the FDA to regulate nano-products, including something they call
nano-silver. I emailed them and asked them to define nano-silver for me.
I'm wondering if they are referring to colloidal silver. Here is part of
what they had to say:

Nano-silver, the most common commercialized nanomaterial, is being used in
numerous food packaging items, cutlery, baby bottles, and kitchen appliances
and cleaners for its germ-killing power. This same powerful strength can
destroy important beneficial microorganisms in nature as well.

I've emailed them asking for proof of what they say but they do not reply.
they are asking me to sign a petition which I am refusing to do. Does
anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

BOILS: Go to the pharmacy and buy a tube of icthammol ointment, also known
as 'black salve'.Apply it to the boil and then put a bandaid or small
bandage over it, not too tight, leaving a little room so the salve can work.
Change the dressing every day using fresh black salve and fresh bandaid.
The ointment has a drawing action and cleans out the boil.

Black salve also helps remove splinters. Apply it the same way as for a
boil.

I have not tossed out any Rigmarole lately so I fear,

These facts did not come from any book, article, or anything I read.

First, . an ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure.

Way back, I had a lot of boils.

I was young, strong and healthy at the time.

Here is some of the causes

1. White shirts
2. starch in the shirts
3. short hair cuts
and rubbing the back of the neck.

The bacteria are everywhere, door nobs, typewriters,
money, restaurants and hospitals.

So I stopped putting starch in the shirts
Stopped rubbing the neck
Let the hair get a little longer

One could rub the neck with alcohol, H202 or CS or whatever.

Keep a good clean sharp razor blade handy.

The main cause was IBM and their bogus rule of white shirts !

I will not say that boils are not bad. My neck and shoulders would be so
sore I could not go

hunting or carry a back pack. Bad news, any way you cut it.

Fact is, supposedly, a bacteria cannot enter a healthy cell. No, not one
!

A break, or flaw in a cell will certainly allow the bacteria to get in.

Keep a small bottle of CS in your pocket.

This group, The Center for Food Safety is after the FDA to regulate

reconstruct nature at the atomic and molecular level. It involves the
manipulation of matter at the nanometer (nm) scale, one-billionth of a
meter. The nano-scale is exceedingly tiny: A human hair is huge by
comparison, about 50,000 nm thick; the head of a pin is about 1 million nm
across.
Scientists have found that the fundamental properties of matter can change
at the nano-scale, creating physical and chemical properties distinct from
those of the same material in bulk form. Nanoparticles have unprecedented
mobility, and readily enter the human body and gain access to the blood
stream via inhalation and ingestion. In addition, the jury is still out on
the ease of nanoparticles' ability to penetrate the skin. Studies have
raised numerous red flags, with some showing that certain nanoparticles can
be toxic to human tissue and cells. Once inside the body, nanoparticles can
cross biological membranes, cells, tissues, and organs more efficiently than
larger particles. Once in the blood stream, nanomaterials can circulate
throughout the body and can be taken up by the organs and tissues including
the brain, liver, heart, kidneys, spleen, bone marrow, and nervous system.
In addition, unlike larger particles, nanoparticles are transported within
cells and taken up by cell mitochondria and the cell nucleus, where they may
interfere with normal cellular function, cause oxidative damage and even
cell death. The length of time that nanoparticles remain in organs and the
dosage that may cause harmful effects remains unknown. Scientists agree that
because of their new properties and seemingly limitless mobility,
nanoparticles can create new and unique risks to human health and the
environment, notably enhanced toxicity. These risks require new forms of
safety testing. Existing studies have raised red flags demonstrating that
current nanomaterials already in commerce may be extremely damaging to
living organisms and systems.

By 2010 the nano-food market could be worth $6 billion. Many of the world's
leading food companies - including H.J. Heinz, Nestle, Hershey, Campbell,
General Mills, PepsiCo, Sara Lee, Unilever, and Kraft - are investing
heavily in nanotechnology applications. Nanoparticles of silver, titanium
dioxide, and zinc oxide, materials now used in dietary supplements and food
packaging, have been found to be highly toxic to cells in studies.
Nano-silver, the most common commercialized nanomaterial, is being used in
numerous food packaging items, cutlery, baby bottles, and kitchen appliances
and cleaners for its germ-killing power. This same powerful strength can
destroy important beneficial microorganisms in nature as well.

Moreover, the unregulated commercialization of these products poses unknown
dangers to the environment once they are released into the waste stream. The
same unique mobility and toxicity concerns that apply to human health apply
to the environment. Even simply detecting these engineered substances in
the environment is a new challenge.

Thus far, nanotechnology-laced products are treated by the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) like any other products or product ingredients. In
2006 CTA, joined by other consumer health and environmental groups,
petitioned FDA to stop ignoring the new dangers presented by these
nanomaterials and force manufacturers to label these new nanoproducts,
including nano-sunscreens (Docket No. 2006P-2010). In 2008 CTA filed a
similar legal action with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on the
unregulated potential environmental and health dangers of nano-silver
consumer products.

Faith,

Nano silver is indeed ionic/colloidal silver or something very
similar. Companies are adding nano sized silver particles to products
claiming it kills germs. I think the FDA is worried that this will catch
on with the general populace and think it's ok to make/use colloidal
silver and/or the silver being discharged into our environment as a result
of these industrial uses can be dangerous to our ecosystem.

Dear Silver List,

Here are some links to websites on this issue. The CTA and FOE (Center for
Technology Assessment and Friends of the Earth) are making a big issue over
Nano Technology.)

However, in the case of the CTA the Nano Technology is only Silver, and the
hit list contains a number of bottle Colloidal Silvers including Sovereign
Silver and Meso Silver among Silver Socks and Cosmetics, etc.

I do not think that your generators would be confiscated, nor will there be
door to door searches. However, if you have any plans of purchasing
additional Colloidal Silver Generators after the EPA ruling you may be
disappointed. The Colloidal Silver Generator may go the way of the Rife
Machine. It is illegal to purchase a Rife Machine in California.

Dear Mr. Foss:

You are hyping this to the skies and you are way WAY out of line.

First of all, this is far from being a done deal. (One of the Ph.D ' health
scientists' writes in one of these articles that nano silver that is washed
down the drain may get into the environment (as if people are not the
environment) and kill fish and other animals. Huh? Evidently this Ph.D
knows nothing about CS. I emailed that group and told them that a Ph.D
after one's name does not stand for education (anymore). We should all
start emailing these groups and telling them that they are poorly informed
and to look elsewhere to entertain themselves.

Secondly, Whoever heard of door to door searches in this country looking for
a product that is no longer on the market? This is ridiculous and
FABRICATED fear mongering. You get a big fat Zero Flunk!

Sir,

It was not my intent to start a firestorm. For that I apologize.
Perhaps my blood sugar was a little low and I got cranky and
responded too quickly to Kurt's email. Normally I would wait a day
before hitting the send button and likely or not I wouldn't have sent
it or I would have heavily edited it.

I think perhaps I did not put across exactly why I think that post
should not be on this list. There are certain conspiracy theories out
there that have a small basis in fact but then take the facts and
extrapolate out until they make good science fiction plots but are no
longer factual. Kurt invariably likes to copy and paste from websites
devoted to these conspiracy theories and post them to the list. I do
not mind the off topic health type questions. But Kurt does not post
questions, he proselytizes like a politician or priest about subjects
that cause division where ever they are discussed. If, in the course
of answering health related questions, those topics Kurt loves happen
to come up and in his own words he discussed them in relation to the
question then I would not object. Indeed, I would likely respond with
a counterpoint post. But it is his method to drop a copy/paste email
bomb out of the blue not in response to any current threads. This
type of post is not conducive to the conversation. One cannot create
a counter post as you would not be talking to the poster but to the
person who wrote the website Kurt is copying and pasting from and
that person will never see the counter post.

If you have saved all the posts do a sort on kmilkowski. He started
posting 9-14-07. He consistently posts off topic about his 3 favorite
pet conspiracy theories chemtrails, vaccinations, and poisoned food
supplies, which have nothing to do with our current conversations. He
usually starts these as new threads and pulls the list way out there
into science fiction land.

I think your existing policies are good and don't need changing. My
beef is with Kurts obsession with conspiracy theories about
chemtrails, vaccinations, and poisoned food supplies and his need to
share that obsession with us over and over and his method of sharing
which excludes argument.

How much traffic is too much? Off topic versus on-topic?

Do you feel my basic policies need to be changed or updated?

Should I do a better job of enforcing them? How, specifically?

Should we stop answering non-CS-related health questions entirely?

Should we ban *all* politics-related posts, no matter their importance?
Or is the existing policy (brief, occasional, little or no discussion)

Should I more vigorously police the style of certain messages so as

Any other points you think I've not covered yet?

Thank you for your patience, ladies and gentlemen. It's not a bad thing
to air grievances and sound each other out every once in a while,
though I *will* get riled if folks make a habit of spouting off their

buy it or make it yourself? Faith G.

He does not go on about what he posts, but others do, so
whose fault is it that the thread gets carried on? I suppose the answer
is as always, moderation (no pun intended) in all things. dee

I agree with Dee on this. I am very surprised at the way this thread was
handled by the members of this list. I noticed that the person was
attacked and nothing was really spoken about the message itself. I
happened to be very interested in this as my husband came home and told me
he heard somthing about it on the radio, my son came across a small blurb
about it in the local newspaper and I found another article from another
source in my inbox. Honestly, for the intellagence that is on this list,
I was really hoping for some useful information since I happen to like
feeding my family food that won't possibly eventually kill us. Especially
since this popped up so quick with no heads up on this action.

I think what disturbs me the most is that people here can make generators
but not know how it use a delete key even when you say you know you can't
stand a certain persons posts. I mean, nobody is *making* anyone read
those posts.

Commenting on the article itself, I don't like Mike Adams and the way he
writes BUT there is usually some truth to what he writes about and it's up
to me to figure out what is garage and to disregard it. At the moment,
his article continued to back up other sources that showed up all in one
day.

I do hope that this list stays pretty much on the same course it has
(thank you Mike) without all the bickering.
