Been putting LMS through its paces this afternoon - and so far, after
removing the. cue files, I've not experienced any dupes at all - even

Yes, I did. But in returning everything to a 'previous state' (in order
to continue my troubleshooting and start from scratch) I accidentally
added the .cue sheets back in - and hadn't realised I had. 

Put it down to age and/or one too many G!

Thanks for the quick response!

Yes, you're right, the other albums where there's duplicated files all
have .cue sheets. To test your hypothesis, I've removed the cue sheets,
rescanned my library and (drum-roll please for Mr Herger!!)... no more
duplicates. 


I recall now that the software I use for ripping has an option to 'add a
cue sheet'. I think I switched that on recently and then forgot I
switched it on!

OK, I switched off both of the Plugins, restarted LMS and cleared the
Library and 'rescanned everything'

Unfortunately, no change... Happy to try more 'stuff' if you've any
suggestions. I realise this is a tricky one to solve!

Reporting back the following day, as promised, having left it for 24
hours. Unfortunately, no change and the dupes are still showing in SOME
Albums. Music Integration Plugin is OFF, so is Spotty. If I delete
everything and rescan, some Albums lose the dupes whilst others start to
show them.

Clean out of ideas now! :(

Yes, it's all a bit weird. Having read your original post on the
subject, both of our issues seem identical. I know that if I clear all
my preferences, that seems to solve it, but it's a right faff to have to
then renable everything again. My bet is that it's one of my plugins,
but currently, I don't have the time nor patience to disable/re-enable
one-by-one to see which one is the culprit! 

The only thing I know for sure is that it USED to be OK, but I can't
recall when the issue first started.

Tried switching off that PLugin and rescanning everything. After
rebooting the PC and the Radios, nothing has changed at the moment, but
in my experience, sometimes these changes take a while to work their way
through. I'll report back tomorrow for the benefit of others who might
also be struggling with this.

Oh, drat! Duplicate track listings have returned. They're showing on all
radios and the GUI player. Pressing 'more' on any radio shows their
physical location as being identical. When playing a complete album,
tracks *don't* repeat, but if I try and play the dupes, the radio says
'file not found'.

Additionally, the only difference is that when pressing 'more', one dupe
will show the play count whilst the other doesn't show the count at all.
Doesn't even have that heading.

Does anyone know what might be going on?

LMS is running latest version on Win10. It's been doing this on and off
for some tracks for around 6 months. Some albums show dupes whilst
others don't.

Sounds like cache issue but 'clearing everything and rescanning' seems
to kill the dupes on some albums, but introduce it in others! [emoji51]

Have tried uninstalling LMS, reinstalling, clearing preferences.
Sometimes this sorts it for a few reboots, then they're back.

I'm reasonably competent with LMS and its workings, but this one has got
me beat. Thought it was the Spotty Plugin (by trial and error) so I
switched that off and that seemed to solve it. Obviously it must have
been a coucidence, as two days later, with Spotty off, the dupes came
back.

Any advice very much appreciated! For me, LMS has been pretty-much
trouble-free for all the years I've used it - but this one is giving me
grey hairs! [emoji848]

unexpectedly' returned after a second reboot! After a bit of detective

I recently sampled a CD and then added it to my music collection that
works with LMS. When I look at the Album on my SB Radio, it lists each
track TWICE within the Album. I checked all my other SB Radios and they
also show the duplication.

If I play the Album, it only plays each track ONCE, as it should.

Technically, it's a bit beyond me as to what's going on. I thought it
might be a cache issue, so I 'deleted everything and rescanned' my whole
collection.

It's still showing everything TWICE. Interestingly, older rips from
about 6 months ago also show everything twice, but earlier than that,
there are no dupes.

Anyone here got any idea how I fix this?

Hi Folks. I'm not sure whether this glitch is related to the latest
version of LMS or whether it's been a glitch for a while?

I've added a new Sky Q mini box to one of our bedrooms. Just like the
other mini boxes already installed, I can use the Bridge plugin to pipe
music through the TV. So far, so normal! [emoji106]

Here's the glitch: the SkyQ mini box gets assigned a default name
(sky1141 in my case) and in the past, I could simply rename this via the
LMS interface under settings to something more 'friendly'. However,
although I can rename and the 'apply' the change - it doesn't survive an
LMS or a Windows 10 reboot - and returns to the default name.

As an experiment, I tried to rename one of my EXISTING Q mini boxes (one
that I've had for ages) and that doesn't survive a reboot either - so
it's *not* the box.

Any suggestions welcomed?

Been away for a while! When I fired up my Logitech radio, I noticed that
TuneIn no longer provides radio feeds for the BBC radio channels. ' I
found an article on the interweb'
(https://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/aboutthebbc/entries/37e4e3f6-fbd2-4c14-8d72-7f7139641582)
that confirmed that it stopped doing this back on August 30th.

Simple question then: is there a simple way for me to get the streams
back using maybe another app/method?

This is a great read - thanks! Very helpful. It's all been a very steep
learning curve for me in recent months. I spent a fortune on the AMP,
only to find that none of my LMS playlists showed on the AMP. All other
metadata worked a treat via LMS. Given that we already had a gazillion
squeezebox radios already working perfectly, I really didn't want to
install ANOTHER server on the PC, but Twonky was the only one that
'picked up' my playlists.

The helpful chaps at Richer and on the Yammy Help Desk all confirmed
exactly your point about a lack of standards - and I suddenly realised
that a 'simple' system that fed all the radios AND the HiFi (including
showing all my playlists) was a bit of a pipe dream! 

I've learned so much in the past few months! I still consider LMS to be
the system-of-choice, but it doesn't play nicely with the Amp so I've
had to compromise.

The Twonky Help Forum has been hopeless, so it's lucky I've only had one
query since I installed it. [emoji5]

Your point about using something like Google is probably the logical
step forward... But then there's the 'challenge' of re-educating the
family! It's taken me three months to get the wife confident in using
her Tablet with MusicCast! 

I *realky* appreciate your words that have helped put my music world
into context.

Well chaps, we seem to have come full circle...

Mysteriously a little earlier the problem where LMS wasn't showing on my
various apps on my phone, sorted itself out and I could then access my
MP3s from my Win10 PC on my phone. Still not sure how it resolved
itself!

Bizarrely, as soon as I unchecked the plugin by Andy, LMS disappeared
from my phone app. As soon as I re-enabled the plugin, LMS re-appeared
on my phone. Obviously the two events are connected in some way.

So, in a round about sort of way, if LMS isn't showing on my phone, I
just disable Andy's plugin and then re-enable it and LMS re-appears. I
don't know enough technically about what's going on here, but
coincidence or not, it seem to have solved my original problem of
getting LMS to show on my phone.

I think we should all go and have a lie down now and close the ticket on
this one! :)

Thanks guys, I think I would have pulled out my last remaining hairs if
you hadn't pointed me in various directions!

I know what you mean! I'm now at the stage where I'm wondering 'do I
just live with the glitch'? :) At least all the radios are working and I
can play all my music! I think I might be a bit OCD!

Anyway, I've followed your previous instructions to the letter and it's
created another log. Still no date stamp, but the log is a lot larger in
content. Does it show you anything that might affect LMS showing as an
icon in Win10?

Hi Folks

Been having a few issues (unusually!) with LMS not appearing as a server
on my Win10 network, although all my Radios around the house can play
radio stations as well as my MP3 collection. In fact, everything seems
to work, except I can't *see* LMS on any PC as a media device. Weird!
Occasionally, the icone will re-appear, but then after a reboot, it
disappears again. I can also ALWAYS see the tray icon in my system tray,
so I'm guessing that the problem isn't that serious! :)

In most other ways, LMS is perfectly well-behaved, but the
'non-appearance' as a server in Win10 means I'm not getting LMS as an
option to play my music on say, my android phone or tablet.

I checked the server log today and saw the following 'error'. Can anyone
tell me what it actually means, and whether it's likely to be related to
LMS appearing/disappearing as an icon in media devices.

A small glitch here...

Everything was running smoothly until yesterday. Although all the
Logitech radios play around the house, I can't seem to pick up LMS on my
mobile any longer. LMS is also not showing in my list of media devices

HI Folks

Just signed up to Calm Radio (calmradio.com) - a great range of music
with a choice of three stream-rates too!

I'm sure I read something about this somewhere on these forums, but my
search couldn't find anything.

Is it possible to use LMS to give me access to my subscribed feeds?
Ideally, I guess, it would be an 'app' of some sort, but I'm pretty sure
there isn't one for LMS

The streams look like this

Hi Folks

I'm starting to acquire quite a selection of Logitech Radios and I'm
forever 'mucking about' modifying what's shown on the 'home screen' ;).


Is there a setting somewhere within LMS that I could use to 'copy
across' to the other radios in the family so I don't have to adjust each
radio's home screen individually?

Hi Guys

Any further help appreciated on this. I can 'see' most of my audio data
on my new Amp - artists, genre, tracks, albums etc, but it's not showing
my playlists. Whereas if I run Twonky, Twonky shows everything INCLUDING
the playlists through my Amp no problem. I'd really like to stick with
LMS as the only music server I use, so does anyone know whether LMS
supports playlists through DLNA? I can't figure why if Twonky can see
them, LMS cannot.

Hi Guys

Strangely, just recently, LMS 'disappeared' as the list of servers on my
mobile app. This sort of situation is well above my pay grade but I
discovered that the App on my phone was looking for LMS on port 9000
(where it's always been) whereas my PC seems to have now changed LMS to
Port 9001.

I can't get the app to remember that its Port 9001 nor get the PC to
revert back to Port 9000 (it's the latter that I'd prefer to do)

Any help very much appreciated as I'm running out of hair to pull out!

Hi Folks been using LMS on Windows for ages together with a small family
of Logitech Radios. I recently bought a Yamaha RX-A1060 Amp and although
the Amp can 'see' the MP3s on my external drive and shows (and plays)
them, the LMS display on the Amp DOESN'T show a heading for PLAYLISTS
like the Radios although it DOES display 'artist', 'song', 'album'
'recent music', 'years' etc. 

That surprised me! Does anyone know what I need to do so that LMS shows
Playlists too?

Hi again Michael

Problem solved (I think)

The podcast plugin was turned off. I've turned it on now and the tab is
appearing - and I've added my additional feeds. The weird thing is that
the ORIGINAL podcast was still showing up on my squeeze radios.. and
working too.. even though the plugin was turned off. Can you explain
that?

Yes, that seems like a good point. My gut feel is that it's definitely a
permissions issue as I can run it from a shortcut once I'm booted to
desktop. The bizarre thing is that I definitely got it to show in the
tray on my previous w10 PC (that also had the same 'problem' - It's just
I can't recall exactly what I did!

Thanks for this latest advice.

It's all beginning to defy logic now! :( I added the shortcut as you
suggested, but even then the tray icon is still not showing.

As a last resort, the only way I can get the tray icon to appear is to
create a scheduled task that runs at the beginning of my day. It's
hardly an elegant solution, but it works. 

I'm really beginning to think it's a glitch with this new PC/Win 10.

At this stage, I can cope with any coloured fish! :)

Yes, although I sign into the PC using my msoft account, I've always
used the local account option - see below. As an experiment I switched
it to 'This Account'. It didn't seem to make any difference and the icon
is still missing.

Hi All

OK, I checked that the icon was switched on in TaskBar settings - see
attached - after installing the latest version of LMS. But in spite of
it being ON, it's not showing in the system tray.

Totally out of ideas now!

The bizarre thing is that I had the very same problem on my previous
Win10 PC and I solved it by adding a duplicate entry for the squeeze
tray app in the startup group. However, I tried this on the new PC and
it made no difference. 

As a last resort, I'm going to take your advice and download the latest
version of LMS - and see what happens.

the tray, but the LMS icon WASN'T one of them. :(

Sorry, it's my use of the term 'LMS' to mean *anything* that is running
to do with the program.

I have taken a screen grab of all the relevant pieces of the jigsaw (I
think) - perhaps you'll take a look and confirm, or not, that all is
where is hould be.

Yes, it does show and LMS is running OK. I have tried the following
permutations of the 'startup folder' - 'All Users Startup Folder' and
'Startup Folder'. I have also tried creating a basic task in task
scheduler. The bottom line is that the icone doesn't show but LMS *is*
running as I can use all my radios around the house listening to my
MP3s.

Weird huh???!!!

Thanks. Yes I've already got Squeezer ray in the startup list -  I can
see it there but it's not visible in the tray after boot up. Weird!
That's what made me think it might be an 'issue' rather than (my)
incompetence

Hi guys

Just reinstalled the latest version of LMS on my new Win10 PC. All is
working fine after a couple of mis-steps with iPLayer, but I was
helpfully pointed in the right direction by this Forum :)

The only niggle now is that the green LMS 'tray' icon isn't showing in
the tray. I know there has been many previous posts about this
(including a couple from me a few years back where I solved it by adding
the file to the startup group) at

So, I confidently repeated the process on my shiny new PC... and it
still doesn't show. I even added it as a 'task on startup'... and it
still won't show.

Does anyone know whether this is solvable or it's a glitch in LMS under

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Lost Settings - Part 2

Hi All

After my Win10 PC died that I was running LMS on, I realise now that I
have lost all my customised settings, so I don't have anyting to 'copy
over' from my old PC to the new one. I'm slowing tweaking the settings
within Control Panel, to try and get things 'as they were' but I can't
get iPlayer to work. I can see the app on my Radio, but when I click on
a past program it just says 'the playlist is empty' even though there's
an icon for the program showing. If memory serves, I *think* I need to
add an additional triode (?) respository, but the one I added, keeps
giving me a '404' error.

Is there somewhere here that has a step-by-step guide to getting iPlayer
working?

Thanks again. I applied the login settings but when I look at the LMS
control panel instead of my logon being
myemailaddr...@outlook.com, 
it appears as 
.\myemail addr...@outlook.com and the password is showing as blank, even
though i typed it into LMS

(This may all be just my ignorance about LMS generally)

Hi Folks

A while ago I installed LMS on my new Windows 10 PC. I recall having a
problem getting LMS to start at bootup. I eventually solved it with the
help of this Forum. That particular PC has recently 'died' and I'm in
the process of reinstalling LMS on the new Win10 PC. I wonder if anyone
can point me in the right direction of setting LMS up so that it starts
at bootup. I seem to recall it was something to do with setting LMS to
'run as a service', (I may have got that wrong though!) but I can't find
the relevant post here.

My trusty windows 8.1 PC died over the weekend and I've been spending
the time re-installing all my favourite apps on my new Wn10 PC. I've
managed to install LMS, but I realise now that when I accessed the
control panel by right-clicking on the LMS icon in the tray, I think
I've lost all my settings there. Things like my podcast feed and my rss
feed addresses

Luckily, I still have access to the old hard disk where I can access the
data. Does anyone know if somewhere in the user folder (or sub folder)
there's a file that contains all the settings? Maybe an .xml?

I had an identical issue with my new 64bit w10 PC. I simply added an
additional shortcut to LMS and added it to startup. It looks like I have
two occurrences in the group, but it did the trick.

Cheers again Michael. I guess at the end of the day, it's the *sound*

Now I am confused. It doesn't take much though! [emoji1] If TuneIn isn't
streaming the sound any longer why would it provide Station Art? Is
there any way to manually add the station art if Radionomy doesn't?

Problem solved (I think!)

(I'm pretty unfamiliar with this whole technical side of
streaming/internet radio etc, but I like the convenience!)

My original preset linked to a url hosted by TuneIn.com - that link
doesn't work any more (there's a recorded message with an American
accent saying this station doesn't steam and to contact the radio
station). So I guess it used to be OK but they've stopped streaming the
Mozartiana service for whatever reason - I think I'd been using that url
link ever since I first bought the SB radios a few years back.

Now if Link the preset to http://streaming.radionomy.com/Mozartiana, the
preset works fine.

However, I noticed that there's no 'station art' for the station or
(m)any other Radionomy stations. Does anyone know if that's a temporary
glitch, or do I need to do something my end?

For some reason my Feed as a shortcut was not via Radionomy. It is now
and it's all sounding fine. No picture art showing though.

I don't think I ever added it using a straight url (it's been a while
since I set up the presets. If I long press on the station I get an info
box stating it's opml.radiotime.com/Tunes.ashx?.. plus a load of other
stuff that's scrolling too fast for me to see.

The method I think I used for adding it was to search for the station
name. But I can't seem to find the station any more.

Sorry for not sounding very competent with this!

Any help appreciated...

Hi BPA. The station is not playing on any of my radios. I had it as a
preset. It says 'the play list is empty'. I gave the url simply as a
reference point for the station. I wasn't suggesting I was trying to use
it on the radios.

All other presets I've created  work fine. Mozart ian gas been fine up
until a few days back.
