it looks nice, but compared to the camera I would attach it to, it doesn't
look very compact:

the canon does look a little smaller:

[videoblogging] HV20 Camera Noise

2008-01-31 Thread Josh Leo
For all you HV20 owners out there, I have a problem (and I know Kent Bye has
the same issue)

Camera Noise!!

Check out all the camera noise in this video I made with the camera:
http://vimeo.com/475731

Lots of high-pitched noise
obviously this is because the internal mic is so close to the tape
mechanism. And obviously, when the room is quiet the auto-gain ettenuator
makes that noise even louder.

I have used lapel mics to get rid of the noise and that works great, but I
want a solution for when I am just filming other people and things. I
thought about getting a shotgun mic but I am not sure if it would help as
much as I want it to.

so I am asking these questions:

- does your HV20 camera make this much noise?
- what do you do to stop the camera noise?
- what kind of shotgun works well with the camera?

[videoblogging] My New Video Project

2007-10-30 Thread Josh Leo
Hey there everybody, I know I don't post here as often as I used to, I guess
I just use twitter more these days...

But I wanted to let you all know about the video project I have been working
on for the past 2 months. Some of you who watch my vlog may have noticed
that my video output has slowed a bit over time, so here is my explanation.

I have been working on a video show about cute pets!

I am a co-editor on Ultra Kawaii (http://www.ultrakawaii.com) It is a show
for Next New Networks and I am really excited about it! I have learned a lot
in the editing process of the program and have embraced my love for cute
animals in a whole new way (heck, I have been doing vlog-cats for about 2
years now)

So I would love to hear feedback from you, and if you have any constructive
criticism, please send that also!

Thanks so much!

cool ill give it a try tonight!

On 7/3/07, Steve Watkins [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

If you have quicktime pro, you should be able to open the m4v/mp4 in
quicktime, then do a 'save as' 'self contained movie'. This should
give you a mov without actually needing to recompress the video or
audio again, it just wraps it up in a mov file format. So as long as
your m4v/mp4 was ipod compatible, the mov will be too.

Doing it that way keeps things simple if you already have an encoding
method that is ipod compatible. Avoiding issues like Apple sometimes
changing the ipod spec, and for example the issue where theres no
option to manually select baseline low complexity (s opposed to
standard baseline) in qt, making it hard to manually create m4vs/mp4s
of 640x that are compatible, making the 'uses apple ipod presets' the
safer choice if compatibility is a must.

Re: [videoblogging] Re: .mov for ipod?

2007-07-03 Thread Josh Leo
the reason I want mov's is because my feeds are based off filetype ipod is
separated by mov and mv4 HD is separated by MP4. If i wasnt hosting on blip,
I could specify the videos for each feed by simply using a different
filename prefix but blip changes both the beginning and end of the file
name, thus making this impossible. So for now I will have one filetype for
ipods and another for HD

On 7/3/07, Bill Streeter [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

My question is why not make them MP4's too, and skip MOV? It's easy
to convert MV4's to MP4's just change the file extension. I set
compressor up to output ipod comtatible files with the MP4 extension
rather than the M4V so they will play back within a browser window
without any problems and I don't have to change the file extension
 manually.

Re: [videoblogging] Threats and male vloggers

So who wants to go through the 3 vlogging books written by this community

where are all those academic papers folks have written? arent those reliable
sources?

let's just cite the heck out of it with sources we actually trust instead of
using a magazine article written in 5 minutes...

let's work together to follow wikipedia's rules but keep what we as vloggers
know this new medium to be

On 5/3/07, Patrick Delongchamp [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

   Hi Markus,

I don't have a vlog anymore but I used to do
 cookingkittycorner.blogspot.com

As you can see from the results from the ban attempt, I have in fact been
trying to stick up for the vlog article. It was changes i made to the
article nearly a year ago that saved it from getting deleted. (

 http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Video_blogdiff=70288801oldid=70288758
 )
Since then, I've asked people to source their contributions. (a wikipedia
core content policy) The vocal people in this group seem to be
 misdirecting
their frustration with Wikipedia policy towards me.

The content Mmeiser had been trying to reinsert (

 http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Video_blogdiff=125328951oldid=124431636
 )
into the article was the content that almost got the article deleted
 nearly

As much as Mmeiser is upset that I initially supported the deletion
 (because
I agreed with the reasoning behind the nomination) I instead decided that
the information could actually be turned into something valuable and did
research and made changes. Changes that saved it from getting deleted. I
hate to say this but if I had left Mmeiser alone, the article would
 probably
have been deleted over and over again since then.

Wikipedia has policies. Anyone can edit it but there's only a select kind
of information that can go into it.

People claim i've been making disruptive edits and dicking with the
article for a year now. I challenge them to read the wikipedia definition
 of disruptive edits. (
 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Disruptive_editing) Has anyone
really looked at the evidence to determine if it is in fact Mmeiser who
 has
been putting up with me for a year or if it is instead the other way
 around?
(see my defense in the ban request)

I would be happy to explain any specific edit I've made if a link of the
edit is provided. I can't really defend accusations that i've deleted
everything for the last 2 years which is terribly inaccurate.

2007-05-02 Thread Josh Leo
I agree that a person doesn't have to be a vlogger to have an interest int
he topic, of course it may lend more insight into the issue. and c'mon, Pat
did videoblog, and quite well at that. He helped a lot at Vloggercon and is
no less of a vlogger than myself...

There is, however something to be said for the doers vs the sayers in
other areas... for example, someone who says coffee farmers need to get
paid fair wages but then chooses to not drink fair trade coffee... sayers
must make sure that their actions don't make them hypocritical...much like
those who say community and support is important here but continue to
degrade, insult, and belittle others on this list...

p.s. my previous post about the other wikipedia entries was not an attack at
Pat, but the practice of throwing the baby out with the bathwater...

at lunch today, I heard 3/4ths of an NPR story by Xeni Jardin she
interviewed Doc Searls who just repeated his email. she also talked to a
woman and man talking about how it may promote copycats, but I was surprised
that no one said anything like maybe they should have not released it they
mentioned that this is just the new manifesto, like ted kaczynski had his
typewriter, today's murderers use digital media...

nevertheless, I would have preferred that they maybe describe the contents
but kept the video to themselves.

on, with one saying something about 'look he cant even do that
properly'. Anyway he hung himself right there with his webcam on, and
died before the emergecy services could get there. I imagine everyon

Thats the most horrible thing Ive heard of happening on the net, and
where the net was actually a proper part of the story, and the linking
of things like Mondays tragedy to the net just seem extremely by
comparison. Bloggers who see everything in terms of the blogosphere
probably need to widen their world view bubble.

NBC themselves called his package a 'multimedia manifesto' didnt they?
I feel less inclined to use the word multimedia myself now, so I can
see where people worried about the term videoblog being smeared by
 this tragedy are coming from.

Ok... um Pat... settle down

after reading Ruperts email and your reply to it, it seems like you are

presented without the use of such inflammatory language...

So I just interrupted an interesting conversation on Twitter about
whether this group is discriminating against the millions of
YouTubers - are we informing them about videobloggingweek07?

I can post a message on the videobloggers group on YouTube without a
problem. In fact, SO CAN YOU -
 http://www.youtube.com/group/videoblogging2 - *HintHint* :D

Obviously, they can tag their videos, but do any of them even know
about it? The thrust of the question was, do we have an attitude of
If It's Not Here, It's Not Real?

WTF is that supposed to mean? Are you trying to say that simply
because some people prefer to use Flash as opposed to downloadable
formats such as MP4 that those people aren't really videoblogging? If
so, you have A LOT to learn about what we do then.

I said I didn't think most people had that attitude - but it seemed
to me that rather than it being about us rejecting youtubers, that
it's more a question of most youtubers not being interested in what
we do because the idea of this forum is irrelevant to them. they
have their tech needs taken care of, and they have brand identity
loyalty that gets in the way of them wanting to be part of a group of
  independent videobloggers.

If that's true then why is it that, as pointed out earlier, places
such as MeFeedia and even PodShow are LOADED with videos done in
 Flash?

Or is seeing that just a figment of my imagination?

so my point was that the discrimination (for want of a better word)
is on their part. but actually maybe it cuts both ways.

Who's the their you keep referring to?

Look, if you're feeling discriminated or whatever, then do us a
favor - SPEAK FOR YOURSELF. I for one DO NOT feel discriminated and
don't like other people telling the rest of the world just how I feel.

If I need someone to advocate for me on my behalf, I have RL friends
and family who can do that quite nicely. I don't need a stranger like
 you doing it for me.

Sorry if I'm coming across rather crass BUT

we say we're open to them, but actually we know that the majority of
what's discussed here is academic or alien to them and so they won't
join in. we don't reach out to them, we just let it lie. a sin of
  omission, rather than commission.

Which is why I created the videobloggers group on YouTube. If you're
stupid enough to not join it, then who's fault is that? Not mine or
 anyone else's.

there are 43 videos tagged for videobloggingweek06 on the whole of
Youtube. Nothing for 07 under any variety of searches, and it's just
a few days away. Josh Leo, you are a YouTube hero and VB week
promoter... can you trail it to your zillion viewers?? :-)

surely it's too big a pool of people to not reach out to?

And just how long or how much effort would it take for you to do the
job yourself? Sometimes you just gotta take the initiative, ya know?

 Just my opinion

 Cheers :D

[videoblogging] Tracking videobloggingweek2007 videos

2007-03-08 Thread Josh Leo
Steve Garfield and I were just discussing the best way to track the videos
produced for videoblogging week 2007.

Last year the problem with technorati was that it took forever for the posts
to actually go through their system and be collected.

adding tags is the logical idea but we need the tagging system to grab the
media, repackage it into a feed and make sure that it is up to date at least
to the hour.

any other ideas?
any services/sites already do this?

we could have a wiki and have people add their posts there, but i doubt
everyone would do it and it would be nice to get an RSS feed out of it all.

any developers wanna new project?

Selling out is a persona thing, as you are only selling yourself short
of previously held ideals. I havent vlogged properly so I cant look
back and judge myself of 2.5 years ago to see how much Ive
compromised, my vlog is pure by not existing lol.

So anyway Im in no position to get up on some moral mountain and start
preeching but what the heck, the terrible shame is that potentially
those most passiante about vlogging could 'sell out' the most, because
they are more likely to want to do it fulltime and thats where money
becomes a real pressing issue, inviting compromise into your heart and
seeing if you can live with the self-imposed restraints on freedom
that almost all financial relationships bring in one way or another.

Meanwhile I sell out in a different way, by keeping the day job which
feeds me but robs me of the time necessary to do what I actually want
to do with video, ie something, anything. Obvously I could save hours
a day b not talking here, and use that to vlog, but as I havent
managed to do that in 2.5 years its more likely to happen if my dayjob
comes to a crashing end. So you never know I could participate in vlog
week this year if I go insane (or get sane) and resign, but my credit
card balance tells me Ive imprisoned myself for years to come.

 this year.

Anyway what I am doing is posting a joke a day for the next 30 days

little help with a few things.

   1. I want to make this quite popular, in doing so I need to know how
to get the message out there, digg might be good, but I have only
once been dugg, so if someone could digg me who people listen to
  that
   would help.

   2. If you would like to send me a joke to use I will credit you,
  also
if you want to tell a joke on video, even better.

   3. If you like the idea of giving but you live in the rest of the
world besides the UK, you can of course use my paypal donate button,
which takes money from anywhere, I will from there pass it on.

Many Thanks for any help you can give me.

   I am getting slowly better.

That was posted on Friday and nothing so far, I am not asking for

Re: [videoblogging] Re: Jeff Pulver

2007-01-30 Thread Josh Leo
I wouldn't have a problem making a video talking about how I watch internet
TV I do it in a number of ways, and it has made a big impact on my life.
(Heck, I videoblogged my proposal! if that doesn't show you i like
videoblogging, I don't know what does.) my issues lie here:

- making videos for contests does feel like a mad scramble for cash, not a
respectable way of paying the bills.

- I would much rather have someone come up to me after watching my videos
from the past 2 years and said, hey you make great stuff, we want to pay
you money to make more great stuff instead of saying free money come make
videos and you might get it!

- I can talk about internet TV/ watching videoblogs no problem, but
integrating Network2 into that would be difficult. If I talked about
watching internet TV it wouldn't involve Network2, I just don't use it.

- I hate the term Internet TV I just started to be ok with the term
Show... its gonna be light years before I call something TV that isn't on a
TV

that is where I stand. I make videos here and there, I am not against making
money, but contests are a whole other bag of worms...

Re: [videoblogging] I Want That Last Wimax Mile

cameras, tons of lighting, and all kinds of gear. I watched these two

I feel foolish pride at having my whole rig in a backpack. I've got my
videocamera, my laptop, an extra storage hard drive, and even an MP3
recorder, a pro-grade microphone, and a digital camera.

But what I don't have (and maybe this is because Mac doesn't have EVDO
or EDGE devices) is that last mile to upload my stuff to the net
from anywhere. Is it really that easy? If I had a PCM/CIA slot and an
EVDO card, would I have a 100% mobile media solution?

INSTANT broadcasting is another question. Is that the value of
Stickam, and if so, how come we're not seeing outside people's
 bedrooms on that service?

Just thoughts. I was out in my car the other day, waiting for ice to
thaw, and I snapped a few pictures using PhotoBooth that went right to
my Flickr account because I was still loosely tied to my wifi. It got
 me wanting live-from-field capture desperately.

 What do you think?

[videoblogging] In Honor of President Ford

2006-12-27 Thread Josh Leo
In a matter of days former President Gerald Ford will be buried here in
Grand Rapids, I covered some of the happenings at his museum today here:

http://www.wanderingwestmichigan.com/2006/12/grand-rapids-mourns-for-gerald-ford/

An older, perhaps less reverent, video about Gerald Ford:
http://www.wanderingwestmichigan.com/2005/11/grand-rapids-own-gerald-r-ford/
http://tinyurl.com/u32s5

I am going vacation and coming back the same day as President Ford's body,
but arriving late in the night. I am going to try to change my flight to
return earlier to cover some of the visitation, etc...

Re: [videoblogging] Re: OOoh, Amanda's Up!

2006-12-15 Thread Josh Leo
I know how it goes...

When Little Jerry Seinfeld (my former cat) and I started working together in
2005, we got off to a good start, but after starring in some of my most
popular videos, he demanded more from me. He wanted me to agree to a
contract where he would get a can of tuna a day, and a new toy mouse every
week. During negotiations he got really heavy into catnip and started to be
really belligerent. I told him that I couldn't agree to his demands so he
left. I told everyone it he videoblogging world that he ran away, but it was
a little more complicated than that. We lost touch after that (I do know
that he started hanging out with a group of strays who had not yet been
neutered or spayed).

After Jerry left, I was forced to find a new cat-co-host. I searched all
over and found some real talent with Winnie Cooper. As she grew she proved
to be a fantastic partner. She helps me edit videos, curates
joshleo.com/vlogcats and has starred in a few of her own videos. I am happy
with the way things are going and hope there isn't too much bad blood
between Jerry and I. Last I heard he was thinking about going into rehab and
getting back into the videoblogging scene, but we will see how things play
out. I suppose that there could have been ways to prevent the whole
situation, but you know what they say...

blog/feed (feeds.feedburner.com/joshleoscontent) but when the plugin scrapes

Re: [videoblogging] The YouTube debate is over..........

2006-12-04 Thread Josh Leo
I was in a coffee shop the other day waiting to film the tree lighting
downtown and a news crew was there talking to people about the cities
wireless internet plan. he asked me if they could interview me, and I said
yes. He noticed that I had some experience in terms of knowing about the
lavaliere mic. etc... but when I told him that I have a video blog and that
was why i was downtown he responded so you got videos on youtube ...to
which I responded with no they are on my own site... he was one of these
guys who only waited for his turn to talk instead of listening (bad quality
for a journalist) so he came back to me later and said something to the
effect of yeah you know with youtube a person can just make a video, have
it get really popular and then get picked up by a big network or something,
it is amazing... I tried to explain to him the difference between viral
video on yourube to the show i have online but he still wasnt getting
it... I really dislike network news peoplebut yeah, youtube is all
everyone knows so getting people to understand real video blogs on people's
sites instead of youtube vlogs is an obstacle

but the difference between the ipod and zune is that the ipod actually is
better... youtube is just more popular

On 12/4/06, Heath [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

I just had an interesting experience today that put in perspective to
me just what YouTube has become. YouTube IS online video,
vlogging, whatever you want to call it. YouTube is it, it's the Ipod
of online video and everyone else is sandisk, zune, etc.

Now, why do I say that? A month or so ago I filmed some footage for
work to go to an offsite. The guys and gals where I work know that I
do video and put stuff online, they know I do not use YouTube, that
I have a vlog site, etc.

Well I just put together a clip of flubs from the guy who was doing
the tour on the video. (it IS funny btw). I put it on a VCD
because I was just going to give it to the guy as a funny gift
(because the name of the company and such was mentioned I did not
want to upload it, don't relish getting warned/fired) I showed it
this morning and it killed but what was interesting was this.

Everyone said, That needs to go on YouTube, this from guys and gals
in age from 20 something to over 50, This needs to go on
YouTubeNOT hey put it on your site or upload it to blip or
Revver, or whatever, no it HAS to go on YouTube.

YouTube is or has become a the standard for online video, I mean
what else can you conclude? Understand these are not techy people,
yes they may be a little ahead of the curve but trust me, just
ordinary guys and gals. YouTube is what the know and what they use
to watch videos. I mean it is like it is America's funniest videos
 for the web.

So what does this mean? To me it means the conversation on wheather
YouTube is really vlogging or is here to stay, is a moot point.
Yes you can become sucessful in vlogging or online video without YT
but to the VAST majority of people if you aint on YT, then you aint
doing online videoI don't want to say that, I don't want it to be
true, but I am really beginging to think that it is true.

Maybe I am wrong, I want to be wrong in some ways but I gotta say
based on my very informal test...the YouTube debate is over.

 Heath
 http://batmangeek7.blogspot.com

btw yes, I am going to upload the video once I make a few tweaks
and yes I am going to upload it to YouTube as wellbecause well,
 that's what the guy wanted..

maybe more vloggers need to talk about scoble, doc searls, TWIT, Winer, etc.. More vloggers need to talk about themselves and focus solely on internet culture and tech stuff... that way the people using RSS, the podcasters, and te big-wigs will love us...
I prefer to make videos about the rest of life outside of the internet.. I find it to be much more fulfilling and dramatic..I find that to be the trend though, things like GETV, and Rocketboom will get their attention because they are geared more towards their area of interest... I highly Doubt that Leo Laporte is gonna lose his sh$ over my new kitten, but that is ok by me. I mean it would be awesome to hit the front page of DIGG, but my vlogs don't serve that audience...
It is always tough because the people who are constantly using the internet and pioneering new ways to use it, are interested in tech stuff more than personal stories. (understandably so) So Internet Success is determined by the people with those interests. This is why we need to teach all the moms, grandmas, teens, blue collar joes, and white collar joans about this new way of finding content.
I'd love a mass audience of a thousand grannies, cause I know that my content isnt gonna hold the attention of all the DIGG users, techTV viewers, and PHP freaks.TWIT is just one voice (a louder voice at the moment) but it is or job to make the rest of people's voices jsut as loud...

What do the TWiTs recommend?Vodcast? That is stupid. What the hell is a vod? Video podcast?May be good for the mainstream media and newbies to grasp what it is since the word podcast is being hyped.
Vidcast or Vcast?Maybe, but probably won't stick and Vcast is probably owned by Verizon. IPTV?This has nothing to do with TV. I think video blog (vlog for short) and video podcast are here to
stay.I do differentiate between the two though. In my mind, vlogs tend to be more like blogs and video podcasts are the shows you can only find in iTunes.Just my 2 cents. -Matt

[videoblogging] A Video Connection to the Past

2006-05-20 Thread Josh Leo

It amazes me how this simple video of going over a bridge can be so emotional for me.I was going through tapes of my families old filmstrips transfered to VHS tonight. I found that my father had filmed his crossing the Mackinac Bridge back in the 70's.
I never knew my father, he was sick and couldnt really even talk when I was young. He died about 10 years ago... So when I found this footage and realized that I had filmed the almost exact thing with no knowledge of his video, my heart skipped. Some sort of connection was made with video/film. It may seem silly, but I hold dear to any fragment of my father, this is a fragment that really hit me...

Please speak for yourself Ron. I've been studying this
issue and lurking on this thread for a while now and it seems to me that there
is no single correct point of view here. I'm amazed at the number of
misconceptions put forth. For me, this is just one set of big corps
against another and consumers are in the middle. I imagine that the
governments will just complicate things up as usual. Personally,
I don't trust Google, Microsoft, etc. any more or less than I don't trust
ATT, Comcast, etc. Both sides present views slanted in their
favor. Both dis-inform and mis-inform. Again, speaking for me, I
see little difference in either SaveTheInternet and HandsOffTheInternet.

Re: [videoblogging] Just before you start belitting me again.

2006-05-15 Thread Josh Leo

Yeah sorry bout all that, I just realized how the world views us and will get to the bottom of that by the end of the week. By friday I should have the whole overconsumption, materialism and environmental issues all solved but the others might take some time.
I have travelled abroad, and even before I did that I was aware that the way that Americans live is not always the best way. But I think that the world as a whole is doing a crappy job of living. Human rights, care for the environment, and greed are not a uniquely American Trait, it is a problem everywhere.
I understand that people in other parts of the world have a different view of America than many Americans do of themselves, but I would like to think that videoblogging IS doing something about that. My government is not my identity, and I do not think it is fair to judge a person by the actions of their government. I am not going to start making assumptions about my friend living in Germany based on the actions of Angela Merkel, so I would also expect other people to not judge me or my community by the actions of President bush.
I could go on, but like I said, I do not think that your video best expressed the talking points that you bring up now. It seems more combative than fostering constructive discussion.
On 5/15/06, Paul Knight [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

I am sure that, in viewing the video I made with enormous help from my partner in crime Paul Reynoldson, that there are a few of you living in the united states that regard this video as merely being one of a yanky bashing nature, trust me this wasn't meant to be the case, in understanding art one must see the video for what it really is, one a wake up call, two a state of play as what the world outside of the United States regards all Americans as. I am still wondering if there are a few of you that still think it was a personal attack on the people of America, hell no Bro, this is how you are perceived around the world, it just took someone the whole of Saturday to come up with it. But from the responses I have got from people this side of the Atlantic and beyond to this video, it is the truth. I had gone well beyond the sexism thing and concentrated on the bridging the gap conventions that have been happening recently. People of the United States, who are trying to bridge the gap with the rest of the world, you really need to start thinking about how you are going to address this. Western Foreign policy dictates that if you are not with us, you are against us. And being Arrogant and cocky to people from anywhere other than the US, even though it is meant in a joke is seen as in very bad taste.
The rest of the world sees the only super power left trying to control everything from money to fuel. Some may see your intentions as arrogant or intrusive.I am grateful to those dollars that funded my trip to Vloggercon, and I thank you with all of my heart and can't wait to be with you all, even those who don't know me. I will be there at the conference and would like you to hear my piece.
I personally, don't see Americans as being that arrogant, I kinda understand the sense of humor. It is just the Corporations and Government, mind you as far as throwing stones when you have a glass house is concerned, the UK gov sucks too. So if we are going to be the fighting force better than the media as we now it today, maybe we need to be a little more listening to other people's point of view, instead of trashing anything that isn't American or British for that matter.
I am talking to those who find it amusing to practice wearing burkas with scarves and finding the definition of Poking The Possum. To grow and be truly International, one must first attempt to try and not be funny, to take all the culture that there is out of the Earth and use it to the better advantage, baring in mind that there are Governments around the world that would be watching and would probably execute anyone that said anything against the governments concerned.
These are dangerous times, and you wouldn't want to upset anybody. But be not scared, embrace the whole world with open arms, but don't tell them that they are wrong because of ingrained American Rhetoric.
Hope this clears thing up so that I can at least enjoy Vloggercon.Paul

I don't understand how a discussion about sexism (not countries, nationalities, etc) turned into a let's start country bashing session. I don't see how this fosters community, or furthers the discussion.
I see insults, and unwarranted attacks. I recognize that at times, the whole discussion could have been handled better but c'mon now. This is just useless when it comes to building community, finding solutions, communicating effectively, and discussing the topics at hand.

  vloggers and counting
Whew, okay. I just finished peaking under every rock I could
think ofto find all the women videobloggers I could find and I came up
witharound 70. I was actaully quite surprised - it never seemed like
thatmany - not that 70 is that many. So, okay... I promised
myself that I would give back (not that I'mlike out of it to be giving
back - but you know what I mean) to thevlogging community somehow. And I
do like the idea of collaborating -even though I'm often short on time. So
in an attempt to bridge avirtual gap of sorts I created this collective:
  http://vidlicious.comI
really want to see more women creating video. I want us to find waysto
work together. And I often like that we don't agree on thingsbecause it
keeps us on point and thinking and finding solutions. This collective
vlog is just one big link loving/video-making fest. Soplease email me if
you'd like to join. If you don't email me, I'll beforced to spend
another night sending out 70 individual emails askingfor support. I'm
hoping it benefits us all as it continues to evolve. Okay, I'll be
  waiting!Zadihttp://smashface.com/vlog

know of any female vlogger I missed on the list, emailme that info too.
  Thanks...

entertaining, shallow, wonderful, horrible.I love Law and OrderI hate local newsI love Grey's AnatomyI hate MTVI love the Antiques RoadshowI hate cable newsI love/hate the OC (so crappy it's good)
They have budgets to create narratives that no blog could match, but often those funds get wasted on CRAP...I love a good hollywood drama/suspense/thriller but I also keep my eyes on what it is saying to and about our society. I love pop culture, but i also love studying the sociological effects of the ideologies behind all of what we watch.

I used garageband to create 2 remixes:http://www.joshleo.com/vlog/2006/02/02/bad-and-good-guys/
http://www.joshleo.com/vlog/2005/10/25/magic-monkey-bob-remix/I then imported the track into iMovie and edited video to it...I might be interested in messing around with some tracks, or letting you have your way with these..

mp3s. You can mess with the instruments and effects, change the tempo and key to suityour own narrative flow.I'm using GarageBand 2. Supposedly version 3 lets you import video, which would makethings even easier in terms of setting the session tempo so you can hit certain points.
Does anybody know if 2.0 projects are fully compatible with GarageBand 3.0? I'mwondering if they still share the same library of software instruments. The first one is here
