Re: Safari: Read list, RSS (Social) Feeds

Thanks for this, I would have never figured that out. Sometimes, it takes three
or four attempts to get it to work (operator error probably), but I was able to
delete the ones I wanted to delete.

the microphone), but she says it's hardly noticable. She says even if you
wear a tie she's seen plenty of people dressed like that wearing these types
of collar headsets.

We both believe that bluetooth headsets are acceptible parts of business
dress these days, but this is the most minimal headset we know of.

Also, I forgot to mention if you lay down your phone and forget it and start
to walk off, the headset will begin vibrating as you walk out of range,
keeping you from forgetting your phone. Of course, you can turn off the
audible ringer on the phone, and have the headset just vibrate when a call
comes in. It can vibrate in different patterns, so you can tell a text from
a call from a special pattern you've assigned to certain contacts.

I've had it now for about six months, and I still like it as much as when I
first purchased it.

So announced this morning was the T-mobile one-plus plan and an earlier

start date of September first instead of the sixth. T-mobile one is still

unlimited everything, but now the unlimited tethering has been bumped from

2G to 3G speeds up to 512 KBPS. They have now added an ad on called one-plus

for $25 which gives you unlimited LTE mobile hot-spot along with unlimited

HD video streaming. They also have $3 24 hour day passes for streaming HD

video for those who might only want that occasionally. They also claim to

match Verizon coverage in the next 12 months.

Hmmm, can anyone get this, or is it like Time Warner where you have to have

  Hello,

Has anyone had any experience with this app? I just recently subscribed to
the Spectrum Stream which is Charter’s answer to Sling TV. The app is pretty
accessible, and with at least TBS it has the ability to swap to the Spanish SAP
feed and get video description. It doesn’t seem to be able to do the same for
the local networks. So, trying to find out if it’s Charter not doing this in
the app .. or my local channels not passing it on. Just wondering if anyone
else has used this app and if they are getting the DVS feeds ..

  Thanks ...

Printing Using the Standard Printer

2016-08-29 Thread Gordan Radić

Hi to all!
Background: I have Windows PC connected to wired/wireless router
  for my cable provider.
I have rather old HP Laserjet 1018 printer which only has USB
connectivity attached directly on my laptop.
Some years ago I managed to use it as network printer and I was
able to print using other PCs connected on my router.
Problem: I'd like to be able to print some things from my
iDevices but I wouldn't like to have to buy gadgets such as Air
Printer Pase, Extreme Base and whatever are they called.
What I really want to know is there some setup I could print
using WiFi network connection and Windows? Is there some Windows
application for sharing printers or emulating Airprint gadgets out
  there?
Thanks for your answers!

I know there are some bluetooth headsets out there that have a mute microphone
function. I'm pretty sure the LG HBS Tone headsets can do this.

So announced this morning was the T-mobile one-plus plan and an earlier start
date of September first instead of the sixth. T-mobile one is still unlimited
everything, but now the unlimited tethering has been bumped from 2G to 3G
speeds up to 512 KBPS. They have now added an ad on called one-plus for $25
which gives you unlimited LTE mobile hot-spot along with unlimited HD video
streaming. They also have $3 24 hour day passes for streaming HD video for
those who might only want that occasionally. They also claim to match Verizon
coverage in the next 12 months.

RE: How do I set up a sound bar?

2016-08-29 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Terri,

The third gen Apple TV has only 2 types of outputs, HDMI and optical audio out.
Most new TV's have also an optical audio out and most soundbars have an optical
audio in. This means you connect your ?Apple TV to your TV via HDMI and then
connect your TV to the soundbar via the optical audio cable.
This way the TV receives both video and audio via the HDMI cable which carries
both signals and the TV then sends just audio to your soundbar.
This is sort of beyond what is on topic for the list and nobody can really
answer your question without knowing exactly what inputs and outputs your TV
has and what inputs are on your soundbar.
If the soundbar only has analogue inputs as in RCA style red and white then you
have to see if your TV has this type of output and connect the output from the
TV to the input of the soundbar.
If the soundbar has an optical audio input you could of course use the optical
cable and connect the Apple T V directly to your soundbar totally bypassing the
TV. This means the TV would not have to be on for you to listen to any of the
Apple TV channels and if your TV was connected to the Apple TV via HDMI and you
had somebody sighted around who wanted to watch then you just turn on the TV
and mute or turn down the TV volume.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: How do I set up a sound bar?

Hello everybody,

I have a few questions, and I am hoping someone on here might be able to help
me.

Last week, I bought a small, 19 inch, Insignia tv, for my bedroom. It
does not have the greatest of sound. But it isn't awful either.

However, I want to contact my 3rd generation Apple tv to this tv. This
way, I can watch whatever I want when I can't sleep, and won't possibly
disturb my roommate.

I thought about just purchasing some small speakers, because I don't
need extreme sound. But for some reason, when I use the Apple tv on the
Insignia tv in the living room, I always have to turn the volume way up.
Voiceover is loud! But the programs are not. So this is why I decided to
purchase a sound bar. I don't know much about them, but have heard of
them before.

So last night, my roommate and I went to Wal-Mart. I honestly didn't
want to spend too much money, especially when I didn't know much about
them. We found an RCA for about 50 dollars. This was fine by me.

The lady at the store was pretty clueless as to help us. But she
recommended that I purchase an optical cable, which I did.

I myust say, this is the most oddest thing I have ever seen! And I don't
believe my tv has a spot for any part of this cable. We looked all over,
and tried to connect it to certain spots. But it just wouldn't work.
Needless to say, I was quite disappointed! My roommate is not very
technological, but he tries very hard to help me. We will be taking this
cable back to Wal-Mart today.

Now I am sorry for all that. But I said all that, to now say this.

How in the world do I possibly hook this thing up to my tv?

I just want better sound, not a darn miracle of sorts. This should not
be so difficult to do!

I understand that I need something that has red and white RCA jacks, to
go in to the back of the tv.

But what in the heck is supposed to go in to the back of the sound bar?

What kind of cable do I exactly need? What is it called?

I know this might sound silly, but at this point, I do not care!

Can I possibly use the cords that came with my DVD player?

Or is what the sound bar and tv need, something completely different?

Any help with this rather frustrating situation, would be very much
appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to read all of this.

Terri

Well, as far as I have been reading, Rocu is completely inaccessible.
Chromecast is accessible if you use their mobile apps. So yes, Apple TV is
completely accessible as far as the TV interface is concerned. I love mine
and wouldn’t trade it in for anything else.

On 29 Aug 2016, at 18:02, Wayne Merritt wrote:

The one thing that Apple TV has over the other cheaper options, like
Amazon Fire, Roku, or even ChromeCast, is that every part of the Apple
TV is accessible. I haven't used any of the others so may not be
totally informed on this. All I know is that with VoiceOver on the
Apple TV, I can access any part of the TV's operating system.

It seems like everyone uses their Apple TV differently. MY wife and I
use it for watching YouTube videos, listening to playlists through
Apple Music, or using the AirPlay feature on our iPhones or iPad Mini
to stream content through our devices and have it broadcast on the
Apple TV. We have thought about some of the movie/TV show apps and are
going to get a subscription to the CBS app on the Apple TV. The iPhone
version of this app is not very accessible, but the Apple TV version
looks to be much better. The CBS app lets you watch current and past
shows that either aired on CBS or that were released on home media
through CBS. We both are excited about this since CBS has a lot of
shows that we would want to watch, like "Cheers," "Family Ties," "The
Brady Bunch," and our favorite current show, "Survivor." Though you
can watch current shows through the network apps, like the CBS app,
for free, you usually have to wait about 7 or 8 days before being able
to do so. Whereas, if you subscribe through the network app, you can
watch it the next day. Some network apps even let you watch things
live through their app, or past or current sporting events. The
subscription for the CBS app is $7 monthly, after the free 7 day
trial.

Another thing that you will find is that no one app has all of the
shows/movies you may want to watch. Yes, Netflix has a lot, but they
don't have everything, jus tlike Hulu or other apps don't have
everything. Also, those apps are adding and removing content all the
time, so their selection is constantly changing.

Hi Richard and David,

First of all, the fourth generation Apple TV also supports Bluetooth
keyboards. It did not when it was first released, but a later TVOS
updated added Bluetooth keyboard support.
Once the TVOS 10 update is released in a few weeks there is also single
sign-in although I am not sure how this works if, for example, you use
different passwords for let’s say Netflix, Youtube and Hulu.
The Apple TV Fourth Generation is available with 32 Gb internal storage
for $199 US and with 64 Gb for $249. This storage is for downloading
apps

and so on, you cannot record shows with the fourth generation Apple TV
nor could you with previous versions.
As Richard already said, apps like Netflix, Hulu, Youtube and so on are
all free. I would imagine that pretty much all apps which require a
subscription would offer the app for free. Keep in mind that at this
point many apps you can get on the Apple TV require a cable
subscription

to work and do not offer a stand-along subscription via the Apple TV. I
believe this is the case with Disney.
I am pretty sure you can watch and get a subscription for the mlb
network

via the Apple TV.
I think for anybody who watches a fair bit of TV the Apple TV may not
yet

be a satisfactory replacement although I really like ours and think it’s
a worthwhile item to have for anybody who is involved in the Apple
ecosystem and especially if you want a beautifully accessible platform
for Netflix, Youtube and so on.
. There have been rumours that apple is negotiating with major content
providers so they can offer an A La Card TV service where you can pay
for

channels you want

Hello. I had somebody ask me if there was a way to print tactile maps
with blind square. Is this possible? The only way I would know to do
this if some how a Braille embosser could be connected to the iPhone.
I saw nothing in the user guide for doing this.

Re: Thinking of ditching cable what alternatives are there?

2016-08-29 Thread Wayne Merritt
I've heard some good things about sling TV, which is available for iOS
devices and Apple TV. I haven't heard a lot of reviews about Sling's
accessibility. The idea behind Sling is you pay $20 or $25 monthly for
cable channels, and can add on different packages for about $5 each,
such as family, sports, movies, and so forth. I believe the website is
at:
www.sling.com
I recall hearing a review on Sling from Main Menu, the weekly tech
show on ACB Radio. I think that show was in June but not sure. There
are also apps from the broadcast networks, like the CBS app that I
wrote about earlier in another message thread. I would not fully
commit to these without looking into what shows they have, since they
may not have all of the shows that you want to watch. I like the
network app model though since I'm not committing to a TV package of
50 channels, when I may only watch 5. Also, by going through a network
app, I am not tied down to a specific channel for content. In other
words, the network app already has the shows, current and classic,
that I may want to wwatch.

Good luck,
Wayne

Re: calendar

2016-08-29 Thread Wayne Merritt
Ari and all,
I believe to turn off notifications from the native Calendar, go into
Settings, Mail/Contacts/Calendars, and look under default alert times.
Make sure it is set to none. You can bring up the Fantastical 2
settings by going to the app and finding the settings button in the
upper center or left of the screen, can't recall which, and then look
under default alert times for events. I have mine set to 10 minutes.
Rarely do I change it,. This makes scheduling a new appointment very
easy, since I put in the title, location, and start/end times.

Hello all,
I made a call on my iPhone 6S because it had the contact information on it.
However, when I finished my conversation, I couldn't end the call because
the keypad wasn't visable. When the keypad is visible I just press the end
call. I tried pressing the home button and didn't get the beeps I usually
get to tell me the call has ended. Is there a way to end a call when the
keypad isn't present? Thank you.

RE: muting an iphone

2016-08-29 Thread Edmonds, Lucy (LARA)
Just to clarify, using the mute switch on the iPhone does not mute a conference
call. The mute switch is only for muting notifications, the phone ringing,

I'm just curious. What is it about muting your phone that you don't find quick
enough? The mute switch is right there, and the phone will vibrate and VO will
say muted to let you know that the phone has been muted.

Re: How to end a call on the 6S when the keypad isn't visible?

2016-08-29 Thread Julian
,

The easiest way to end the call on the keypad isn't showing is to simply pull
the phone away from your ear and in about a second do a two finger double tap
and that should end the call. Alternatively, you can look for a button that
says hide or hide keypad and if you double tap on that you should not see the
buttons that you were looking for.

How to end a call on the 6S when the keypad isn't visible?

2016-08-29 Thread Connie Mohney
Hello all,
I made a call on my iPhone 6S because it had the contact information on it.
Thank you.
Connie

Re: Please, I need suggestion about Apple headphones.

2016-08-29 Thread Wayne Merritt
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but you can also get all of
the Apple accessories, like earbus and extra lightning cables, through
the Apple Store app, and pay for them with Apple Pay. If you can't get
to your carrier's store or an Apple Store, this is another option.

Well, as far as I have been reading, Rocu is completely inaccessible.
Chromecast is accessible if you use their mobile apps. So yes, Apple TV is
completely accessible as far as the TV interface is concerned. I love mine and

This storage is for downloading apps
and so on, you cannot record shows with the fourth generation Apple TV
nor could you with previous versions.
As Richard already said, apps like Netflix, Hulu, Youtube and so on are
all free. I would imagine that pretty much all apps which require a
subscription would offer the app for free. Keep in mind that at this
point many apps you can get on the Apple TV require a cable subscription
to work and do not offer a stand-along subscription via the Apple TV. I
believe this is the case with Disney.
I am pretty sure you can watch and get a subscription for the mlb network
 via the Apple TV.
I think for anybody who watches a fair bit of TV the Apple TV may not yet
be a satisfactory replacement although I really like ours and think it’s
a worthwhile item to have for anybody who is involved in the Apple
ecosystem and especially if you want a beautifully accessible platform
for Netflix, Youtube and so on.
. There have been rumours that apple is negotiating with major content
providers so they can offer an A La Card TV service where you can pay for
 channels you want

T-mobile at it again with more data

So announced this morning was the T-mobile one-plus plan and an earlier
start date of September first instead of the sixth. T-mobile one is
still unlimited everything, but now the unlimited tethering has been
bumped from 2G to 3G speeds up to 512 KBPS. They have now added an ad on
called one-plus for $25 which gives you unlimited LTE mobile hot-spot
along with unlimited HD video streaming. They also have $3 24 hour day
passes for streaming HD video for those who might only want that
occasionally. They also claim to match Verizon coverage in the next 12
months.

2016-08-29 Thread Connie Mohney
Maria,
When we bought our cell phones from tMobile, we got some apple earbuds with our
phones. They told us if we needed anything like cases or accessories we could
get them there. I'm assuming you are using a cell phone. If so, could you get
to a store where your cell phone carrier is? I don't know if you have a
wal-mart near you or not. However, I did call Walmart to ask them if they sold
apple ear buds and they said they did. Some stores have a limited amount in
stock though. HTH.

Hi Dave and all,

thank you very much for your suggestion.

Unfortunately, there is no Apple store application available in Slovak app
store.

Like i mentioned in previous e-mail, we have the-so-called authorised apple
sellers who are supposed to sell apple certified products, but I did not find
original apple ear pods in their stores.

Thank you again.

Have a nice day.

With kind regards

I don't believe there is another way of muting the mic itself then to pressing

this is an issue because while I am trying to find the mute button some

Re: App to create a zip archive of several Dropbox mp3 files?

2016-08-29 Thread Chris Chaffin
Hello,

The WinZip utility is in the app store. Now I would recommend purchasing the
in app upgrade. It will give you access to Dropbox, and will Zip an unlimited
number of times. The free version does not give you access to any cloud
storage, only zips one time, and has very ignoring ads that covers most of the
screen.
It looks fairly accessible with voice over in the little time I played with the
app.

Here is the link:

WinZip - The leading zip unzip and cloud file management tool by WinZip
Computing LLC

Hope this helps,

Re: muting an iphone

2016-08-29 Thread englishrider91
I'm just curious. What is it about muting your phone that you don't find quick
enough? The mute switch is right there, and the phone will vibrate and VO will
say muted to let you know that the phone has been muted.

Thanks,
Ari

Re: multtiple topics: apple tv, netflicks, hulu, etc.

2016-08-29 Thread Wayne Merritt

I'm traveling and looking for a way to zip up a number of mp3 files I have in
Dropbox into a single zip archive so I can play them all using voice dream

Is there an accessible app that will let me create a zip archive of several

Thanks in advance.

2016-08-29 Thread Mária Orovčíková

Hi Dave and all,

thank you very much for your suggestion.

Unfortunately, there is no Apple store application available in Slovak
app store.

Like i mentioned in previous e-mail, we have the-so-called authorised
apple sellers who are supposed to sell apple certified products, but I
did not find original apple ear pods in their stores.

Thank you again.

Have a nice day.

Not sure, if you have apple stores in slovakia, but take a look in the
app store for the app.

as far as Ebay goes, you can't really tell if you are getting the
genuine product. But if you take a look on amazon, read the customer
reviews, and you will get a good idea, if the product is genuine.
Amazon are not supposed to sell fake products, but sometimes, some
third party sellers will try to.

You will get more reviews on amazon, so just take a good look and
listen to the customers.

Personally, i have found much better products, that are manufactured,
by other companies, and retail at a considerably cheaper price!

Subject: Please, I need suggestion about Apple headphones.

Hello list,

I would like to purchase original apple headphones (earbuts) in small
plastic box, the same that come with iphone.

I know that in Apple stores or authorised sellers might have them. I
tried to find them in the stores, but I did not find anything. They have
plenty headphones that are certified by apple, but they are differend
branches.

I would like to get original Apple headphones because I like the sound
they have and they are very confortable for me to carry around.

I believe Amazon and Ebay might have them, but my question is how can I
make sure that they are original Apple and not fake product?

I once purchased headphones from Ebay thinking they were original,
because the headphones and box looked identical like original, but the
sound was strange.

Any kind of help/advice/suggestion will be appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance.

Have a nice day.

With kind regards

Maria

Spectrum TV App

2016-08-29 Thread Peter Logan
Hello,

Has anyone had any experience with this app? I just recently subscribed to the
Spectrum Stream which is Charter’s answer to Sling TV.

Thanks ...

2016-08-29 Thread Feliciano Godoy
You can go about it in a couple of ways. Your cellular provider may have an app
where you can see this information. If that is the case, they may have a widget
where you can see this information in the notification Center. Another way to
get that you can go about it, it's by going to your iPhone settings followed
by cellular. There you can see the total usage and for your abs. I recommend
that you reset those statistics the day that your billing cycle starts. You

Hi all,

Does anyone know of an app or way to check your daily data usage on iOS?

Not worried about WiFi but data through your carriers plan.

muting an iphone

2016-08-29 Thread Dan

Hi,

I have several conference calls I am on every month. I sometimes have
trouble getting my phone muted in a quick manner and it sometimes causes
issues.

Is there a way using my Apple earbuds to cause the phone to mute? I
figure it would be quicker if it can be done.

thanks.

Re: E-Mail Client

2016-08-29 Thread 'Carol Pearson' via VIPhone
Well, I've tried lots of times to work with them but really don't like
threads at all, so I'm going to have to find a way through that keeps it
simple for me. (I don't mind reading messages related to a subject as
they come in a timeline.) I just find threads a bit of a maize really.
Does anyone else feel like I do!

Thanks though for the description given. I shall keep that by me and
have another go, this time with my iPhone once I am on IOS10, of course.

Hi Richard,

You can delete individual messages although I think when you double tap on a
thread and the rotor is turned to messages that once you flick to a particular
message the delete button at the bottom in the middle should just delete this
message and not prompt you to delete the entire thread. Anyhow, here is how you
can delete individual messages:

When you are in the Inbox and come to a thread/conversation with several
messages, don’t double tap on it. Instead with your rotor on “Actions” which
should be the default, flick down until you get to an item called “Expand
Thread”.
Double tap on that and now the thread will expand and all the messages are now
actually just showing up in whichever mailbox you are in as individual
messages. They continue to do so until you go back to the first message, flick
down to “Collapse Thread” and double tap.
Now you can swipe to any message in the thread, flick up or down to “Delete” in
the actions rotor and double tap to delete the message you are on.

if you double tap on any of the messages in the thread to open/read it you now
are back in the conversation and the messages option is there on the rotor and
you can flick up and down to move through your messages.
The delete button at the bottom of a message once again prompts you to “Trash
Messages” which means if you do so all messages/the entire thread will be
deleted.

I just realized as I am writing this that my phone locked on me and after I
unlock it it lost focus on where I was in the list and when I scrolled down
again to the message I tested this on it was still expanded. Also, leaving the
Mail app and going back to the home screen and then opening mail again left it
expanded.
Only when I closed the mail app in the app switcher and then reopened it was
the thread collapsed again.
Of course you can always go to the first message of the thread and flick down
to “Collapse” and double tap to manually collapse the messages back to a single
entry which contains all the messages of that thread.

It takes a bit of getting used to, but I quite like how Apple has done this
with the exception of the delete button in an open message, I think that should
let you delete the individual message you are in as well.

The only thing I do not like about the new threading method with the message
item in the rotor, is that if you chose to use threading, and you want to
delete just 1 message, it deletes the entire thread. At least, when
experimenting with that feature, I have not found a way to just delete one
message in a thread, or to delete all but one, however you want to look at it.

Re: Please, I need suggestion about Apple headphones.

2016-08-29 Thread Dave

Hi Maya,

There is an app, you can get for your phone, if it isn't on there already,
it never use to, but now it may be preinstalled, it's just called apple
store. this will sell you all their products. they wil tell you where your
nearest apple store is, or they will post them to you.

Not sure, if you have apple stores in slovakia, but take a look in the app
store for the app.

as far as Ebay goes, you can't really tell if you are getting the genuine
product. But if you take a look on amazon, read the customer reviews, and
you will get a good idea, if the product is genuine. Amazon are not supposed
to sell fake products, but sometimes, some third party sellers will try to.

You will get more reviews on amazon, so just take a good look and listen to
the customers.

Personally, i have found much better products, that are manufactured, by
other companies, and retail at a considerably cheaper price!

Any kind of help/advice/suggestion will be appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance.

How do I set up a sound bar?

2016-08-29 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everybody,

I have a few questions, and I am hoping someone on here might be able to
help me.

Terri

Hello Kimber and all,
I am afraid, in Slovakia, we do not have Apple store. What we have are
just authorised apple stores, like Istores, Mzone, Istyles, ETC. I did
not find original ear pods there.
in case I would buy through the Apple store app on the Iphone, I do not
know if they ship to Slovakia.
Another thing is I am not sure where Apple store app on the Iphone might
be. I have App store application there, but all I can see there are just
applications to instal or update, not products like ear pods, chargers, ETC.

Thank you for your help.

Jewel,
First, all the preview means is that you will be able to see you so many lines
of the email without even having to hit on it first to read it. That way you
can decide what do you want to read it which means open it, or just delete it
immediately.I hope that I am correct in what I am about to say. All you do to
activate a link that you see in your email is kit on it double tap with one
finger. As for volume I push the volume up. I think for instance with my phone
ringer I've got it all the way up to 100%. Back to a link in an email: if it
happens to be a link to a clip from YouTube, you might want to download the
YouTube app which will then automatically open when you hit on any link that
has to do with you too. It's free. I don't know what happens if you don't have
the app already downloaded on your phone. I don't know whether the link will
open. It might.

Please, I need suggestion about Apple headphones.

2016-08-29 Thread Mária Orovčíková

Maria

Correction, in an email the send button is just to the left of the "to"
field. In a text message you can usually find it just above the letter 'p'

Sieghard! My head is spinning with all that information, so as it is
unlikely that I will be able to
assimilate it all in one session, it will be saved in my "invaluable info"
folder.

I am making some headway in understanding this new gizmo and have, with
some success, sent a couple

of emails, and received a couple as well.
In message settings, I have set it to keep messages for 30 days before
deleting, so that should give

me plenty of time to get a grasp of what I am doing.
What does preview mean? I have it set for 5 lines.
When I turned the phone on this morning, I was told that I had 1 unread
email , but in that one, my
correspondent made reference to having sent 2 earlier ones, which I,
eventually, did tracked down,
that contained the link to a YouTube movie. How does one activate a link
on the iPhone?
With my hearing getting worse, I find it difficult to pick up what vo is
saying: I have speech set
at 45% so that does not need to be adjusted, but I would like to read
sentence by sentence, and

then be able to go back to reread them.
I have the rotor set to characters which suits me as I use that setting to
check clues in Word
Ladder, so do I have to reset it from characters to sentences when I read
an email and then reset it

to characters when I play WL?

Subject: RE: Where is the "send" button?

Hi Jewell and Deidre,

Just as a small correction, it is actually not "the third line". Yes, you
have to swipe twice from
the Cancel button to get to Send, but visually Cancel, the email subject
and Send are all on the

same line.

When you have composed an email in the Mail app or are replying to one,
the Send button is more or
less at the top right corner. Cancel is at the top left and in the middle
is a heading which when
you compose a new message says "New Message" at first, as soon as you
typed a subject it will say
whatever it is you typed as the subject or whatever the subject is of the
email you are replying to.
I say the send button is "more or less" at the top right corner because
just a tiny bit above it and
all the way across the device from left to right is a button that is
announced as "Minimize Draft".
If you started a message and want to finish it later, you can double tap
it and it will save the

message as a draft and go back to the main mailbox you were in.
So, visually you have your status bar at the top with the time, battery
level on the right and so

on.
Underneath and all the way across is the "Minimize Draft" button. If you
were to touch the time and
slowly drag your finger down along the right side of the phone you would
find it, but you would also
find it if you touch the time in the middle and drag down or if you touch
the carrier logo/signal

strength on the left and drag down as it goes all the way across.
Underneath that on the next line is "Cancel" at the left", "New Message or
Message Subject" in the

middle and "Send" on the right.
If you touch the time and drag down past Minimize Draft you next get to
Send.
If you want to swipe and are, for example, on Cancel, then you can swipe
left once to get to the

Minimize Draft button, you can swipe right twice to get to Send.

Sieghard

Re: Bluetooth Headphones

2016-08-29 Thread Jenifer Barr
Hi.
I just purchased one of these headsets. Question, do they come with a
carrying case, or do they fold up? Also, stupid question, but can I
have more than one thing hooked up via Bluetooth to my phone? My
braille display and headphones? I know, I'm not that bright! LOL.
Thanks.

Hi Richard and David,

First of all, the fourth generation Apple TV also supports Bluetooth keyboards.
It did not when it was first released, but a later TVOS updated added Bluetooth
keyboard support.
Once the TVOS 10 update is released in a few weeks there is also single sign-in
although I am not sure how this works if, for example, you use different
passwords for let’s say Netflix, Youtube and Hulu.
The Apple TV Fourth Generation is available with 32 Gb internal storage for
$199 US and with 64 Gb for $249. This storage is for downloading apps and so
on, you cannot record shows with the fourth generation Apple TV nor could you
with previous versions.
As Richard already said, apps like Netflix, Hulu, Youtube and so on are all
free. I would imagine that pretty much all apps which require a subscription
would offer the app for free. Keep in mind that at this point many apps you can
get on the Apple TV require a cable subscription to work and do not offer a
stand-along subscription via the Apple TV. I believe this is the case with
Disney.
I am pretty sure you can watch and get a subscription for the mlb network via
the Apple TV.
I think for anybody who watches a fair bit of TV the Apple TV may not yet be a
satisfactory replacement although I really like ours and think it’s a
worthwhile item to have for anybody who is involved in the Apple ecosystem and
especially if you want a beautifully accessible platform for Netflix, Youtube
and so on.
. There have been rumours that apple is negotiating with major content
providers so they can offer an A La Card TV service where you can pay for
channels you want without being forced to subscribe to channel bundles which
may include stuff you never watch. However, it does not look like Apple is even
close to reaching agreements with these content providers and one theory I
heard is that Apple thinks they are top dog and approach these negotiations
with a fair bit of ssuperiority and self-importance thinking these major
content providers which are huge companies also are going to fall to their
knees thanking Apple for what they want to do and offer them killer deals.
Apparently this is not so and the two sides are still miles apart from reaching
an agreement as to how this would work.

Sieghard

In short, not all, or even most, shows on the major networks are available on
Netflix.
Sometimes you wait a year or more before a TV series shows up on Netflix.
All the ones you mentioned, Netflix, Hulu, and MLB, are subscriptions. The apps
are free, but only useful with a paid subscription.
If you get the Apple TV, you will be able to use the VoiceOver feature to enter
your login information for the various subscriptions.
With the 3rd Generation Apple TV, you could also sync a Bluetooth keyboard,
which made account info entry much easier.
That's what I think I know.

Richard
