RE: Trouble opening the app switcher under 7.1
I am deleting the APPS that are in APP switcher and now it is fine. Richard wrote like that. But the applications that are usually on the IPod are not deleted, only the Ones that are on the APP switcher, that is fine for me. Ah, you must not be able to use iOS 7 on that device. Once you have the app switcher open, Double Tap and hold on an app in the app switcher like you were going to move an icon. After you hear the tri-tones, then it should say to double tap to delete the app. That means it will delete it from the app switcher, not delete it from the device. RE: Trouble opening the app switcher under 7.1
Thanks Richard, yes the IPod Touch 4 doesn't have IOS 7.1 it is IOS 6.1.6 I am not sure, but I am sure, the latest. I shall try this. I like my battery to last lonb, that's why. I use IPod Touch very much than the I Phone since it has 32 GB memory space. I use Victor reader stream for my internet radio since it has WiFi connection, I store all my Epub files, Audio books, Braille files and Microsoft documents and note pad text files. Even VR Stream 503 has 32 GB memory space, this is why I baught I Phone 16 GB, also this itself cost me a fortune to buy in India. Thanks for help. RE: Trouble opening the app switcher under 7.1
I just upgraded to IOS 7.1 and found that I had trouble opening the apps switcher. I did find, however, that doing the double press of the home button more quickly reliably opens the apps switcher. Looks to me as though it now just requires a faster action on the part of the user. Once opened, I can still do a three fingered upswipe to close an app just like every other version of IOS 7. Another thing is that some of us don't use Siri. Yes, Siri is great, not questioning that, but I don't use it since I have not had very much success with Siri. My voice is of a lower pitch and I tend to speak quieter. I do have a hearing loss. My father-in-law also has one and doesn't use Siri. He would probably have trouble hearing Siri. Wayne, You have just given me a rather good idea! Have you ever tried talking to Seery using the keyboard, that is, qwerty or Braille? I think, at a pinch, it may be possible! But, and this is more likely, it wouldn't be too difficult for Siri to be adapted for it. hm, The little grey cells are heating up… Sandy Sent from my iPhone On 13 Mar 2014, at 18:53, Wayne Merritt wcmerr...@gmail.com wrote: Another thing is that some of us don't use Siri. Re: Tripple click for accessibility not working properly (was) Trouble opening the app switcher under 7.1
If one is in noisy environments, or does not have internet access, Siri doesn't work very well, or at all. In these situations, it would be best to have home click speed set at the level one is comfortable with. Note: when setting slow or slowest, it will take longer for apps to return to home screen, or app switcher to activate, because iOS will need to wait longer before activating the chosen function of the home button. No, this is not a problem with any iOS device unless the home button has warn out. The speed of the home button is the same across all iOS devices. Re: Tripple click for accessibility not working properly (was) Trouble opening the app switcher under 7.1
What I've discovered is that using the Home Button in 7.1 isn't quite as patient a procedure as in previous iOS versions. In order to launch the app switcher, I must hit the Home Button twice somewhat more quickly than seems to have been necessary in pre-7.1 iOS versions. I presume the same is likely true for toggling VoiceOver off and on. Holland's Boy, Bill - The bad end unhappily, the good unluckily. This is interesting! Now it is meant to be quick clicks, but isn't there something under accessibility for motor skills if you can't click that fast? Re: Trouble opening the app switcher under 7.1
Don, I don't know anything about the iPod, but if it has a tripple click for accessibility setting, I would try turning that off. When I did that my problem with the app switcher was solved. Obviously it's not a fix, but it is a viable workaround at least in my case. Kimber On 3/12/14, Donald L. Reduce Motion Setting was RE: Tripple click for accessibility not working properly (was) Trouble opening the app switcher under 7.1
I'm not sure if the Reduce Motion setting you are referencing will affect the behavior of how quickly the Home button must be pressed to engage the Apps Center or VoiceOver. I do have Reduce Motion set on my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1 and am not experiencing the problem but that could be due to the speed at which I naturally press the Home button. Anyway, if you'd like to turn on the Reduce Motion setting, it can be found at Settings, General, Accessibility. It is the second from the last option in the first section which is headed Vision. Or you can set your rotor to headings, swipe down with one finger to jump to the Hearing section, and then swipe left twice with one finger to be on the Reduce Motion item. You have to open the item and then set the switch to on. Alan Lemly -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of RobH! Re: Reduce Motion Setting was RE: Tripple click for accessibility not working properly (was) Trouble opening the app switcher under 7.1
Hi, Near the bottom of Accessibility settings (Settings/General/Accessibility) is an option called Home Click speed. If you're having trouble accessing the task switcher or toggling VoiceOver, playing with this setting might help. Best, Anna On Mar 12, 2014, at 11:32 AM, Alan Lemly wale...@gmail.com wrote: I'm not sure if the Reduce Motion setting you are referencing will affect the behavior of how quickly the Home button must be pressed to engage the Apps Center or VoiceOver. I don't know if this will work, but it is worth a try. I use Assistive Touch to keep from wearing out the home button, and you might be able to get into the app switcher with it. It is located in accessibility, under the physical and motor heading, or you can tell searie to turn it on.You have to tap device, more, then multitasking, that puts you into the app switcher. Re: Reduce Motion Setting was RE: Tripple click for accessibility not working properly (was) Trouble opening the app switcher under 7.1
Hi, reduced motion doesn't have anything to do with the speed at which the Home button is pressed. However there is a setting which can be adjusted so the Home button presses are seen if you are a slower presser in case os motor issues. You can leave it at default or set it to slower. All of this is in accessibility section of the main settings app of course. -- Raul A. Gallegos Twitter and Facebook user ID: rau47 On 3/12/2014 11:32 AM, Alan Lemly wrote: I'm not sure if the Reduce Motion setting you are referencing will affect the behavior of how quickly the Home button must be pressed to engage the Apps Center or VoiceOver. If reliability can be demonstrated at speed, we could request them slow it down a bit. There was another issue of this sort which either got fixed or given an adjuster to moderate it at least.
