I have yet to see a good FHSS radio get knocked off the air be it serial or Ethernet. I can only speak about GE MDS, Freewave, MaXstream MicroHard and CalAMP. Canopy 900MHz is still working in many areas of town even near refinery and water companies MAS farm. TxDOT using MDS and Encom for ITS.
