We did a war file deploy of the MidTier to upgrade from 7.1 patch 2 to 7.1
patch 3. Now, patch 3 will not work (patch 2 still works fine), we get the

stops working and we have to restart email engine services to make it work
again. We are using MAPI protocol for incoming , now BMC is suggesting to
change protocol to IMAP4 , just to check if that solves problem .
Maybe the Mid-Tier needs to have a kind of IP-Names setting for ARS
server aliases to allow for this kind of thing instead of needing to
configure the Mid-tier to talk to multiple ARS servers. ( Not to
mention needing to store the same password in multiple places on the

Which IMAP server are you using? We've had funky issues with Domino's

compatibility matrix states that 7.1 mid-tier support 6.3, 7.0.1, and

troubleshooting at the same time. Funny how that works...just as I was
about to hit send another idea would come to mind.
Anyway, I did update the set fields action in one of the active links to
omit that space and i wound up with
Yep - same view - it's the exact same workflow firing in both cases
doing a standard window open in dialog form and using the same view.
There's no differentiation in the code for client type, etc.

workflow (active link) that I created. When I do the same modification
to the same field with a Modify All action it does not kick off the
workflow.

Whenever you do a modify all, I believe that if you reference any of the fields
in your run-if qualification, then the active link might act funny, since it
doesn't know the value in the field. I believe this is the reason why, although
I'm sure that I will be corrected if this is not correct.
The Modify All action skips Active Link processing entirely.

the data at the server and not at the client which is where Active Links
execute.

One thing to remember is that Modify = a SET Operation, while Modify All = a
SET ALL Operation. There is no check box for Modify All on an Active Link,
so I think you'd have to explicitly set Active Links to also fire on
$OPERATION$ = SET ALL to make them fire on a Modify All action.
