Hi,
None of these are actually 100% sufficient.
Some databases gives you an end-tag, but some do not.
If you put FLTR/ESCL/API/SQL into the same file, you can track the thread
and see when a call stopped by looking at the following row of the thread.
Sometimes though, internal things in the
Hi List - we've got an interesting problem here.
What is the difference between the following:

I would have assumed nothing, but one of these works and one doesn't. Is there
anybody that can explain the difference? I've run across this before, but never

Hi Gavin,
Not sure I am right
Second one will work.
Since you are using this in filter and doing some operation which is on
database level.
Database only recognize operation like % and _

Hi,
I do not know what your problem is.
These two statements has allways worked exactly the same for me:
'DatabaseField' LIKE XXX + %
'DatabaseField' LIKE XXX%
If you are referencing field data with either 'field' or $field$, you have
to use the + sign. If you do it without a +, it would not
Hi All,
Does having a 3rd party company host AR System and ITSM 7.6.3 really save
money? This is the first implementation that I have seen a 3rd party host
the application - and it has been a nightmare. Are other companies having
good experience with hosting. I believe they said this was
Assignee Group Permissions aren't just for row level access correct? Can they
be used for just field access? Mine doesn't seem to work.
Added a field with a field id of 112 - check (I even named it Assignee Group)

I think I figured it out. Still not sure why the qualification doesn't work,
but I still used the Assignee Group field and Assignee Group permissions, but
just used a different qualification (on another field) and now it works.

Listers,
Just wanted to see if anyone is having these same issues. We have a Time
escalation that runs every weekday at 1:00pm. This past week the escalation ran
at 12:00 noon on Monday right after DST had changed. The next occurrence it ran
at the proper time of 1:00pm. Any help would be

We always cycle the AR System services after the time changes. It eliminates
any issues caused by the change to/from DST.

Hi John
To avoid these sort of issues with DST you should not schedule time
sensitive escalations between 12 midnight and 2 AM.
What actually happens in the Fall is that the time goes to 1 AM, then
changes back to 12 midnight. So, Remedy's behavior was correct - it fired
at 1 AM, then
John,
As others have mentioned…it is obviously because of the DST switch…but in this
case what happens is that the system doesn’t keep track of ‘when’ to fire the
escalation next…it keeps track of how many seconds till that escalation should
fire again….so in this case it ran at 1PM and set it
My bet is that the 7.6.03 Atrium installer will choke on this, even if it
worked in 7.5 or 7.6. Every week I find more things that worked before that
are now broken in 7.6.03 (the latest: on-line help for ITSM; the most
problematic: everything you ever did with RKM no longer works; the worst:
Is there a way to limit the amount of dead space visible in the Mid-Tier?
Right now most of my users have scrollbars in IE 7, and the scrollbars scroll
down far enough that the forms are out of view. I am trying to determine how
to set this so it only scrolls down to view the length of the
Has anyone had an issue with their application server's time getting
ahead? Our server will run up to around 5 minutes fast and then
eventually re-sync with the time server and drop back to the actual
time. Funny thing is that this only occurs on servers where the Email
engine is running. I found
Thinking about this some more, at least in this scenario you might have more
control over the individual servers _because_ you have to completely remove the
server group (possibly even revert each server to an ar.cfg with absolutely
NONE of the entries that you have to add for a server group),

In Dev Studio -- Layout-- "Show Actual View Size"
Now you can find the little black box controls on the edges of the
form and drag the whole window to the size you need. Hope that is
what you meant!

It is controlled by the resolution of the users system and the size of the
monitor. Try 1024X768 on a 17 Monitor.

Shane,
The Mid Tier makes a view as big as you have for fields in the view. This
includes hidden fields..so the only way I have been able to find is to add
everything to a page holder in multiple tabs and ensure that everything you
have on the form is within the area you want displayed. The
Was banging my head on an upgrade test from ARS 7.5p7 to 7.6.03. The AR
Service would hang on startup in the middle of the upgrade. I enabled
debug in ar.cfg and looked in the SQL logs and found a commit
transaction error because an ALTER TABLE command failed due to columns
already existing.
What database are you on?
If I recollect right, MS-SQL was picky between LIKE “Company” + “%” ***and***
LIKE “Company%”.
It used to not like LIKE “Company%”
On Oracle and the later versions of MS-SQL, both should return consistent
results..

Basically an asynchronous task engine that runs similar to how you describe.
It can run on the same server as ARS or outside the server too.
It allows you to eliminate many of the unnecessary steps that filters are

I is easy to try out using Advanced Search. I would be surprised if there
