Maria Elena,
I think the CCA is done with the council of Ponta Delgada. If not, there's
only maybe 1 or 2 more freguesias. I don't research there, but others have
been posting about that.
After the council of Ponta Delgada, they have the council of Ribeira Grande
(around 10 freguesias) and the

fromSao Miguel. I even wondered if they were fm Santa Maria and maybe it was
considered Sao Miguel. One starts to stretch reality in the search for elusive
ancestors. Thanks.

Hello,
does anybody know the names of the people that came to Northeast of Brazil from
Azores in the centuries XVI, XVII and XVIII? Because, I need to find the name
of my ancestor in my mothers line that came to Brazil. Ive got an exact match

It would also be a little cheaper and much, much faster to order a Family

at about $7.50 plus any local taxes or fee, for a total most likely in
excess of $112 USD.
BUT, you need a good pedigree on your other lines and
My great-grandfather's brother went to Brazil was a Professor at a

His fathers parents were from Ribeira Grande and his mothers parents from

Cheri, I put my most distant ancestor in my mothers line, but she is just my
3th grandmother. I could not get to find more ancestors in this line. I think
that my ancestor came to Recife City, Pernambuco State or Salvador City, Bahia

Whoa, Cheri- now I know you're writing in English but when it comes to the

Hello,
I am looking at a Baptism record from 1895 for Evangelina Moniz Pacheco
from Furnas and it looks like there are names other than her parents name
on the record. Do you know if her grandparents (specifically on her mothers
side) would also be listed on the record??
Thanks

Hi Eliseu:
Thanks for your ideas and good questions.
When I first started researching them, I automatically assumed they were from
Ponta Delgada and have looked through those freguesias. That's where most of
my research has been. I was ordering the micro films from the family history

If you only know to your 3 great grandmother, it will be okay. When you
find out more, you can change it.
It will take some time to figure it out with that many years to cover.
I don't know how to do research from Brasil. I don't know if Brasil has

Many of us on this list are fluent only in English. Although I've learned
