Good suggestions, John, and I have tried the cord in another USB port, as
well as connecting my device to another computer, on which it works. This
tells me I probably have some kind of USB issue, so I'm going to do one more
thing, which is to connect another USB device to the computer and see
OK
What version of Windows are you using?
I can give you step by step for re-installing your USB drivers on your
machine for XP. I have actually copied this below from my web site. I had
Vista taken off my machine so someone with Vista would have to check if the
same steps would work with
Okay, great! I have Windows XP Pro, so this wil be useful. I'm working now,

You can check if there is a conflict by going into systemsettings and then
hardware manager. Make sure all usb ports have their drivers correctly
installed.

Hi,
I was just going to say that you should take a look in Device Manager and
try updating the drivers for the individual USB devices. Also, if that

I have seen Windows throw a driver for USB with no apparent reason for it.

Windows XP is notorious for not letting you delete files and folders. I've
had several instances where I couldn't delete folders and files. Here's a
easy to use program that will do the trick for you.
Unlocker for Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003
The program is free
I have done so for some of those drivers, but I probably need to do it for
all of them.
Thanks,

I am having trouble removing a file or program in my Control Panel. It
says it cannot remove because it cannot find the installer package. I look
for any file with the same name in the search and I cannot find anything. I
think this is some type of program with a virus of some sort.

That doesn't sound like a JAWS problem at all. It does sound like your
control key is stuck which has happened to me before. In fact, I have a key
which won't work right now, the caps lock. Since I am running JAWS in
laptop mode, I don't have that insert key which is quite an inconvenience.
