Hi Todd,
1) Thanks for many clips on youtube, they are of GREAT HELP.
2) Are there any problems with rotary and external tank? Specifically for
Brewtus IV with rotary? Some authors mention cavitation, and some claim
that if you use external tank with rotary, you can't preinfuse.

Have also owned both and am with Craig on this one. Rotary is like an
aircon in your car, if you have never had one you will probably be happy
with the vibe pump, once you have owned one however you would never want to
go back :-)

I ended buying the IV-R and it arrived last Thursday. I am really pumped
excited about the machine and spent the entire weekend learning the
little nuances about it.
I am really happy I went with the rotary model, but even happier it is a
plumbable model. Having it plumb vs. a

Rotary vs Vibe
Noise?
Why bother! Start resolving your grinder's noise first. Your option would be
grinding at store, purchase ground coffee, place your grinder at the basement
or go zassenhaus. When you're ready, then go Rotary! And don't even think
about getting
Hi Tony,
Being a fairly new owner, about 2 months, of the Brewtus IV-R, I am
confident in telling you that is the way to go. I went thru the same
issues and comparisons you are now. As someone said earlier, your

Hi Tony,
Bought a B2 about 2006, and have had it on a timer with daily use since then. I
have replaced a few parts, nothing major or unexpected.
I upgraded the machine to rotary and PID about a year ago (WLL kits), and the
difference in noise is significant. I would estimate half as loud with
I have brewed many shots on both the Rotary and the Vibration pump machines.
Both do make a great shot.
If you want to hook up a water line then the rotary is nice because it is very
quiet and the pumps and motors seem to last forever.
Our service times are down to about a week and we have
in my view, having owned both, the answer is yes.
A bit of history might clarify Todd. There is a company in upstate NY (US of

them to retailers and sub distributors. The Salzman family which owns the

reputable supplier. I got an exchange for mine. Having said that I
love mine and it is a vibration pump. So I see no reason, when already
Thank you Kitt for your prompt and thorough reply.
So if I am reading it rightit is worth it in the long run to go up
to the rotary pump vs. the vibratory?
From the entry level Brewtus IV to the Brewtus-R it is $250 extra.
From the Brewtus-P to the Brewtus-R it is only $150. But the Brewtus
@judge I'd like to clarify a few of the comments you made.
I have a plumbed in IV-R which I love. No problems whatsoever in
about 1 year of ownership.
I use reverse osmosis water in an 11L container which is on a small
shelf below the Brewtus. No need to actually plumb it in. Just drop
the input
I have the Brewtus II with vibratory pump. I have been perfectly happy
with it. I guess I am not as serious a barista as some of the people on
this group who will express their preference for the rotary pump. I just
wanted you to know that it is possible for some folks to be happy with

It's all good Tony,
I was actually surprised, I almost felt attacked over my suggestion by
some. I was not trying to insult the rotary unit to those that have
them. If it suited my needs I would of purchased that unit. My main
reason on suggesting the vibration unit was your major concern about
