This morning, about 8am, I thought I faintly heard snow geese. I looked up and
at first didn't see them, but then did see two very large flocks, quite high.

Between 5:00 and 6:00, I saw flight after flight of Snow Geese. I'm half way
between Skaneateles and Auburn. They were mostly going east toward
Skaneateles. They seemed to taking off from farm fields near me.

The Snow Geese that Fritzie saw at 5:15 took off after several hours (3-5PM)
of rest on the ice at the southern end of Lake Road. I estimated 150,000+.
They lifted off and settled back in place 3 times during the two hours.

As I stepped out of the truck in my driveway at 1545 yesterday, the barky
honking of a large ‘disorganized’ flock of SNOW GOOSE was heard overhead.
I did a quick count of a subset and estimated about 400. They were relatively
low (under 1000’ probably).
I grabbed binocs but only had time to look
Thursday I saw many flying over Sapsucker Woods area about 2 PM. Then when I
drove to Meadowridge Vet Clinic on rt. 34 in No. Lansing, I saw a large flock
landing in a corn stubble field just north of Vet's office.
So, driving around where there are old corn fields can offer good views of Snow

For those who have forgotten, snow geese can be taken 'til 15 April 2014.
I just watched a couple hundred Canadas spiral down onto Mill Pond. They came
in from east of us where they usually spend much of the days in farm fields. I
suspect they heard gunshots somewhere or maybe "sporting" snowmobi

Despite less than favorable strong west winds, many SNOW GEESE
are migrating today. Renee and I saw at least 6 different flocks
from various locations around Broome County. From my
deck, in just 10 minutes time, had 2 large flocks of snows
moving to the northwest slightly into the wind.

and out of the basin in what looked like determined southbound migration. The
high hilltops (circa 1900 feet) seemed to scrape the cloud ceiling earlier, but

Hi All,
Today started with a Fox Sparrow at our home feeders. Then, though I am
recovering from what ever nasty virus is going around, the warm day beckoned.
The most interesting thing I saw was a huge raft of Snow Geese that went on for
about a half a mile on Owasco Lake where Number One Rd.
As I drove south on rt. 41 along Skaneateles Lake, I saw two large rafts of
snow geese. One was in the middle of the lake across from the state boat
launch.

I went to Muckland hoping to see the snow geese again as I am hoping to replace
some shots with new material to my last year's documentary, which I did for a
class.
I went directly to Muckland! Not a goose - neither Snow nor Canada, in fact no
birds period! I did find lots of cars par

Larry and I took advantage of the nice day and took a trip around the
lake, going up East side and down West side. By far the most impressive
sight was the tens of thousands of SNOW GEESE plainly visible and near
to shore from the junction of NYS Route 89 and the southern junction of
Lower Lak

I've just seen from our house near Interlaken, numerous large flocks of SNOW
GEESE flying south over Cayuga Lake. They are quite high and flying in
formation, unlike their more scattered patterns when flying more locally. I
estimated 3-4,000 and there could easily have been more. They might b

Drowning out the sounds of the snow shovel this morning was the barking/honking

give me a thrill, and I did see a large flock of them on the west side of
Cayuga yesterday at noon, sitting in the water in a long trail that looked like
a snowy jetty, near Varick. There were also a few here and th

end of the lake, and I made it to East Rd. before I had 2 SNOW GEESE fly
over. Nothing in the Mucklands, but at Carncross Rd., I was just in time to
Nearly forgot-- but yesterday (Sunday) late morning we saw a
spectacular flock of maybe 1,000 snow geese swirling like a big cloud
over a field in Town of Varick, off 96A.
