Interesting morning. Hawthorns nearly devoid of bird life when I arrived around
9:15am then I encountered the Yellow-rumped Warbler flock streaming into the
Hawthorn Orchard from the West.
Highlights: CAPE MAY WARBLERS (2), ALDER FLYCATCHER (1), Tennessee Warblers (6)
and Yellow-rumped
Most birds were in NE corner and in any tall oak trees in the area.

All birds reported? Yes
Comments: Most activity in NE corner and in tall oak on East side, plus row of
oaks
Birds were initially scattered at the start of my morning. By the time I left
and the skies cleared, vocal activity had picked up and many birds had moved
into the taller older section of hawthorns in the Northeast corner.
Highlight: BLACKPOLL WARBLER singing odd rapid-fire song in NE corner.
Very difficult birding the Hawthorn Orchard today. Cool blustery Southeast
winds followed by rain showers. Most birds were vocal by calls only, and very
limited song. Largest Yellow-rumped flock seemed to prefer Western interior of
Hawthorn Orchard.
Highlights: male HOODED WARBLER at NE
Decent morning, but, from the sounds of it, I should have arrived earlier.
Highlights: CAPE-MAY WARBLER, Mourning Warbler, Wilson's Warbler, Tennessee
Warblers, Pine Warbler, Northern Waterthrush, Lincoln's Sparrow. Missed Canada
Warbler. Details below.
Good birding!!
Sincerely,

Birded the Hawthorn Orchard this evening from about 6:15 to now.
Tons of Yellow-rumped Warblers. 1 silently foraging INDIGO BUNTING. 3 Palm
Warblers. Several Baltimore Orioles. All mostly in Northern half of Hawthorn
Orchard.
Tomorrow could be a good day area-wide. We'll see.
Good birding!
Sorry for the delay. Sending this out just now, a message from birder Darren
