Yes, but you also need to look at this setting in ColdFusion. If this is
not ticked it will only send a 404 or 500 status code, during development
this really should be a setting that you switch on.

One thing that you haven't mentioned, is this a 32bit or 64bit installation
of ColdFusion. From memory the ntAuthentication tags are using com objects
to talk to Windows Authentication servers, if your running on a 64bit OS
you may find that this is going to be a major issue with what your trying
to do. Not saying that is the problem, but it maybe a head in the right
direction.

Actually come to think of it.. Have you also tried this, during development
if the component is being changed, you also need to clear the stubs. I
don't recall it being that exact error, but a quick Google has made the
exact same suggestions.

For example what does this do in the browser?

Could that be throwing an error that the invoke is masking?

Restful is not a web service but a normal RPC that uses get/post/delete
etc. So any language than can have an entry point can do RPC or restful
calls.

Phil,

A couple of things you can try if you haven't already.

1) Fully patch ColdFusion 10.
2) Make sure that the Connectors have been removed an re-added to the site
in question.
3) Remove all connectors and make sure that any previous version of
ColdFusion connectors have been removed.

I did a quick Google search, and there is a variety of reasons. The main
was is what Dale was stating, the others what I suggest above.

I would give the Connector issue a go first, as this has had serious
implications with CGI and other stuff when people have forgotten to remove

Actually cookie storage for client variables is by far the best option, if
your storing more than basic info in there you should rethink your
application design. Secondly I am very sure that the Client scope is based
on the current session as well and if that is not sticking your client
variables will be different. Because the CFID  CFTOKEN will be different,
you can verify this by looking into the documentation where it shows how
the client storage require these tokens to be pulled up for that current
session.

Peter, sorry but the 101 or the basics is clearly not what your saying.

But as Dale said most people have not used client variables since the days
of ColdFusion 5.0 or lower.

That is why I sent you the link, the link explains how to use cffile. Once
you have moved the file that is accessible by ColdFusion, using the
destination that is where the file now lives, so if you want to reference
the file you just use what you stuck in the destination attribute.

It has been my experience that those finding it difficult to get
developers, are themselves using older version of ColdFusion, mainly
version 5. And that is a problem in itself... Not saying this is that case
here, but something to consider.

And personally the money usually on offer for developing on these systems,
is like a kick in the teeth for developers.

See that is the thing Dale, your experience is different to the next.

I know of 7 companies just in the last 3 years alone, who couldn't get
developers and have emailed me. When I ask them what version they are
using, so I can ask around, I almost fall over backwards when they say
ColdFusion 5.

Carmen,

There is a couple of things you need to be aware, first when ColdFusion
uploads a file it is stored in a temporary location and is removed at the
end of the request ( I believe), therefore you will need to use cffile to
move the file to a location that is not web accessible, but accessible via
ColdFusion.

The location that you move the file too, will be the location that will be
used for your initial question.

 contacts to the support centre have come to nothing,   several emails have
 had no result,  I dont know what choices I have left.

 Apart from going to the NSW Department of Fair Trading and complaining,
  or taking Adobe to the small claims court,   or exploring the possibility
 of pirate copies,   what the hell else can I do?I NEED those
 applications.

The support on twitter is similar to the support you received, difference
is they respond a lot quicker. If they don't have the answer they will get
back to you after chasing it up, as with anyone who can forget a quick DM
to them will remind them to chase it up for you. A lot of the times it is
their own staff that forget to get back to them.

I think my experience is the same as others with the support from twitter,
they do bend over backwards to help there.

If it is a scheduled task, does it require all that output? Personally I
would pass in a URL variable for debug purposes if you require the output
for visual confirmation or an email being sent off. But for a normal
scheduled event, all that output is running execution cycles for no reason.

Dale, I am not disputing that it is a bug or not. This is not something I
have any knowledge on, and can't find the setting in ColdFusion 9. But I am
hoping to learn more about this setting and what makes this change

Can you run Brackets on it?

I've done some fiddling (still very alpha) to get syntax highlighting
happening.  If you're interested to try it, let me know and I'll see if I
can explain how to set it up with my hacks (it's convoluted, unfortunately)

Does that do syntax highlighting?  Last I looked it flagged a lot of errors
with non closing tags.  I'll revisit it again if it's improved...

Due to security reasons, I doubt you will be able to do this in outlook.

Now I am not sure what you are trying to do, but if the user can't enter
anything into the email (like normal forms) you might be better to just
create a normal URL link back to the server when clicked, that passes what
you are asking for.

message is on the server sending the data or the server receiving the data,
I am assuming that Dale is meaning the server sending is throwing that
error.

Yeah that is what I was trying to establish, and whether Dale made those
changes on the receiving server or the sending server.

If made on the sending, I doubt that would make any difference because I am
sure that the socket doesn't go through the Web Server itself, but does on
the receiving server.

There is an option in the settings to enable HTTP status codes, you may
wish to turn this off if you want the ColdFusion error to be displayed.

Just an FYI, IIS is not hijacking the error, it is ColdFusion sending a 500
error as defined by this setting.

[cfaussie] CFBuilder installation question

Hi,

Does anyone know if you can install the CFBuilder plugin on multiple 
eclipse versions concurrently?

I have it installed on Indigo at the moment, but would like to try it on 
Juno.  Do I need to uninstall the plugin completely, or is there a way of 
getting it over to Juno without having to remove my current install?

As Kai said, it looks like it won't work to any extent in Juno.  I can
CFBuilder stuff in the Help menu and Preferences, but there's no other
trace of it in the views, perspectives, etc.
