every time you start it unless you deploy it from CS as a template.
So you will either need another host/cluster which runs this VSA for you or you
import it and deploy via CS onto a local storage then setup manuall

for me too.
There were other problems (now confirmed/fixed bugs) I was facing so I did not
upgrade.

I have vSphere 5.1 with CS 3.0.2 and is working just fine. There might have
been API changes between 5.0 and 5.1 but it does not seem to effect my
environment.
Also adding OS support for new OSes just via DB hack does not work. I've spent
days on it...

You can destroy your system VM (SSVM,CPVM) the same way you destroy a user VM
instance.
The system will automatically create a new one when the previous one was

The two setups are exactly the same 3.0.2 setup, same global configuration
settings except other IPS.
The only difference the weird one is a 3.0.1->3.0.2 upgrade while the working
one is fresh 3.0.2.

I think 3.0.2 is not pre-alpha by far. I can easily run a production
environment on it with billing integration and customers are happy.
Nothing is perfect ever but there is always a workaround. If you could describe
what is unusable or blows up we might be able to help.

I think the only bit missing from CS is the ability to set that "role"
parameter per vm from the UI. Everything else is a template and puppet thing so
CS does not really need to be aware of Puppet does it?

I have tried a few times with earlier version to setup VPN.
I can get the tunnel up and see the ESP packets back and forth but I get no IP
from the virtual router (tunnel endpoint) so I can't send any traffic through
