With many hole saws you can stack blades/bits. The outer is the size you need,
the inner the size of the old hole.

Anyone know if CNA is still writing boat insurance policies? I too had a

There are facilities at both ends of the Erie Canal to step/instep the mast.
People do it all the time.

The Admiral and I circumnavigated Lake Ontario a couple of years ago (by car)
and had a really great time. I like the idea of doing it by boat. That would
be a wonderful trip. Mast down through the canal (down at Albany and back up
when you get to the lake).

I don’t know the exact dates, but the canal depth is low in the winter and
re-filled again in the spring.
I would google next spring to see when they “re-open” it.

Regardless of the type, you should always have some method of plugging a leak
or broken valve. I have the soft Wood cones near each thru-hull as a safety
matter.

Bruce,
You may well want to replace the lights with LEDs instead of dealing with the
old stuff. LEDs are brighter and take a lot less power. I did and now I’m not
having to deal with the corrosion issues that I had to deal with the original
lighting hardware.

What is required and what is smart are not always the same. A masthead
tri-color is not what I would use here in the Chesapeake as many (power)boaters
don’t look up. At sea, I wouldn’t use anything else.
You can’t use both at the same time, but you can have both on your boat and use

As someone who sells Yachts for a living, painting over teak would be a show
